As I walk down the aisle, my dress feels heavy to walk with this.... jewellery..I felt like i was chained down to walk.. like this.
I couldn't look to other people..not because i feared....but there words, their looks meant nothing to me. As I walk past my family... I feel to punch that lotus for her words.
Right before the ceremony started
She was looking at my sight...with that smirk on her face..i could know what she was going to say to just get reaction from me.

As priest starts talking...it turns into dead silence...

I put aside my thoughts about them, and look at my husband's profile. His jaw is tight I could sense..that he wasn't that much pleasant with this marriage, his eyes fixed forward on the altar. He hears the gossip too, but he didn't even blink..when she called him Monster.
Maybe he is used being called ruthless, monster and heartless....but i think it's unfair.. unfair to just assume he is like that.
The Priest's words snap me back to the reality from my thoughts..
He glances at the priest.

Lord Commander Dorian, do you take Lady Cassandra to-..*gulps*

In the eyes of the priest there was slightly hesitation...then I looked at him....my heart somehow started racing faster, strange feeling.... though.

His grip on my waist didn't loosen for a single second as he pulled me down the cathedral steps. The massive wooden doors slammed shut behind us, cutting off the murmurs of my family.
I finally breathed out. Getting away from Daria and Marie felt like escaping an execution, even if I was just stepping into a different kind of trap.
He walked fast. I had to practically jog to keep up, tripping over the heavy silver chains and layers of fabric on my wedding dress. It clanked loudly with every single step.

We reached the imperial carriage. It was massive, black, and bore the heavy crest of the Dragon General.

He commanded. His voice was completely flat. No emotion at all.
Before I could grab the handle, his hand was at my back.

He basically hoisted me right up into the carriage. I stumbled inside, the ridiculous weight of the gown pinning me down onto the leather seat.
A second later, the carriage dipped. He stepped in and sat directly across from me. The moment he shut the door, the small space felt tiny.
He was...huge. His broad shoulders completely blocked out the pale light coming through the small window curtains.
The carriage started moving. The rhythmic sound of the horses' hooves hitting the cobblestones filled the silence....

He didn’t look at me… Though why he would? He just stared straight out the window, his jaw clenched so tightly that a muscle was ticking in his cheek. He looked like he was going to a war zone, not heading home with a new wife.
Suddenly, he reached into his black military jacket. He pulled out a small, dark velvet box and threw it right into my lap. It landed with a soft thud...

He didn't even turn his head.
I picked up the box and opened it. Inside was a heavy silver ring. It was shaped like a coiled dragon holding a deep, blood-red stone. I could actually feel a strange, cold magic humming from it.

You forgot this at the altar *looks at him*
I said. My voice was steady, even though my inside was a total mess.

The priest looked like he was about to have a heart attack when you just walked past him.*looks at him*
He let out a low, rough sound from his throat. It wasn't a laugh... But maybe it was.

A hard chill ran straight down my back. 'I do'. Furthermore, he didn't say it with love. He said it like a threat. He said it like I was a piece of territory he had just conquered. I slid the heavy ring onto my finger. It was freezing against my skin, but it fit perfectly... just like it was meant for me.

For the next twenty minutes, neither of us said a single word. The city noise faded away.
Soon, we were deep inside the Blackwood Forest. The trees grew thick and dark outside, blocking out most of the daylight. The roads out here were terrible, full of deep ruts and sharp rocks.
I watched him from the corner of my eye. Of course,, I tried to pretend that I wasn't staring at him... He sat perfectly still, like a statue. But the air in the carriage felt incredibly heavy.
...the carriage violently jerked
💥The front wheel hit a massive hole in the dirt road. The whole carriage tilted sideways with a horrible, loud screech of breaking wood.
Because of THIS heavy, awkward dress, I had absolutely no balance. I was thrown completely out of my seat. With a sharp gasp, I fell forward across the small space right toward him.
I closed my eyes, expecting to hit the hard floorboards. Instead, my hands flew out blindly to stop myself.

My palms were pressed completely flat against the top of his' thigh

I froze. I could feel the rock-hard, burning muscle right through the thick fabric of his uniform trousers. He was incredibly warm, which shocked me because his attitude was always so icy.
He hadn't moved a muscle to catch me. He just sat there, rigid as stone. His hands were clenched into tight fists on his knees. I could see his eyes widen just a fraction, his pupils shrinking.

I forced myself to look up. Our faces were only a few inches apart.

And then, right under my hands, I felt it.
Thump-thump....Thump-thump
His chest was rising and falling quickly. His heart was absolutely racing. It was a wild, furious beat that completely gave away his calm, dead facial expression.
His body betrayed his own mind.

Scrambling back onto her own seat and trying to pull her wrecked dress together.
He didn't say anything. He didn't look at his leg, and he didn't look at me. He just smoothly adjusted his coat, completely pretending that the last ten seconds hadn't happened.
But the air between us felt totally different now. It was thick and electric.
Before I could even process how fast his heart had been beating, a massive explosion shattered the windows
The right side of the carriage blew completely inward. Wood splinters and shattered glass flew everywhere into a cloud of thick, black smoke. The horses screamed in pure terror.
The carriage veered wildly off the road and crashed violently into a massive boulder at the edge of the trees.
I screamed as the wooden roof started to cave right in. A huge, jagged beam was falling straight toward my head.
Cassandra Valerius [Female lead]
AHHHH*closed her eyes*
But I didn't feel the impact.
A massive shadow threw itself directly over me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me hard underneath him.
He used his own back as a shield. The heavy wooden beam slammed brutally against him, breaking into pieces. He didn't even groan
He just held me tightly against his chest, locking me in a breathless grip until the carriage finally stopped moving.
I coughed through the black smoke, looking up at him.
Cassandra Valerius [Female lead]
Lord Commander—
The words got stuck in my throat.
His face was completely white. His eyes were half-closed and totally glazed over. A black, jagged arrow was dug deep into the side of his neck.
Around the wound, dark purple veins were rapidly spreading across his skin like a poison web.
Cassandra Valerius [Female lead]
*eyes widened*
Dorian Thorne [Lord Commander]
Cassandra...*he rasped*
His voice was barely a whisper, completely missing its usual power.
Dorian Thorne [Lord Commander]
Stay... down...
His arms lost all their strength. His huge frame went totally limp, and he collapsed forward, his heavy head falling right onto my chest.
Cassandra Valerius [Female lead]
What happened just right now? Who attacked us? Why? MOREOVER he called me Cassandra 😳💭

U shouldn't think about it right now, oh right... I totally for forgot ABOUT HIM😣😟*snapped back from her thoughts*
She was concerned but again... Was looking at him with worry and embarrassment, because he literally was on her chest, ON HER CHEST.

Pure panic hit me. I grabbed his face, slapping his cheeks hard to force his eyes open.

Lord Commander!!!! Dorian! You can't pass out right now! Wake up!!!! 😰
His skin was burning hot. His breathing was short and shallow. The terrifying Dragon General, the man who had just told me he owned my life, was completely unconscious. The assassin's poison had taken him down instantly.
Outside, the forest was dead silent. No guards were shouting for help. No horses were making noise.
