~His Dangerous Omega~

Almost perfect

Episode 1: Almost Perfect

For Kai Ashford, mornings were his favorite part of the day.

Not because of the sunlight filtering through the curtains or the smell of freshly brewed coffee.

But because every morning, he woke up next to Damian Blackwood.

The sight never got old.

Damian was still asleep, his arm draped possessively around Kai's waist, holding him close even in his sleep. A small smile tugged at Kai's lips as he carefully brushed a strand of dark hair away from Damian's forehead.

Two years.

Two years of love, laughter, and countless memories.

Sometimes, Kai still couldn't believe that someone like Damian loved him.

And judging by the way Damian pulled him closer the moment he tried to move, the feeling was mutual.

"Where do you think you're going?" Damian mumbled sleepily.

Kai laughed softly.

"It's seven in the morning."

"And?"

"And normal people wake up."

Damian opened one eye before pulling Kai back against his chest.

"Five more minutes."

Kai rolled his eyes, but he stayed exactly where he was.

After all, life with Damian was perfect.

Almost perfect.

"Baby, time's up"

"Aah... I don't want to"

Damian holds him closer.

After few minutes Kai went to the kitchen and started making coffee.

Damian walked in and wrap his hand around Kai's waist.

"Honey?"

"Yeah"

"Love you so much"

Kai smiled

"What do you want to eat?"

"Anything "

"Mhm... What about a Toast?"

"Yeah, it is perfect"

After that day, They were both sitting on the couch watching a movie.

Kai was sitting between Damian's legs and Damian was holding him closer.

"Marry me"

Kai said it jokingly at first, leaning against Damian's shoulder.

But the smile disappeared when Damian went silent.

Again.

Just like every other time.

Damian loved him. Kai knew that.

Yet whenever marriage came up, Damian's expression would harden, and a wall would rise between them.

"Let's not talk about that tonight," Damian said quietly.

Kai forced a smile.

"Right."

Damian kissed his forehead, but the familiar warmth no longer eased the ache in Kai's chest.

Kai looked away, pretending it didn't hurt.

It hurt every time.

"Damian, I know you love me and I trust you."

He smIled softly

Damian helds him closer

"Baby, I'll be late so don't wait up for me?"

Kai turned to him

"Alright"

Kai had complete trust in Damian and never asked much of him.

Then suddenly, Kai's phone buzzed

"Who's it?"

" Ahh... It's Mr. Sinclair "

Damian glanced at him

" I told you to stay away from him, why don't you listen to me?"

"He is my boss"

Damian put Kai down and got on top. He locked him with his body.

" And who I am, huh?"

"Baby listen..."

"Don't BABY me"

Damian grab his throat not painfully but firmly

" Damian I worked there, and he is my boss "

" Yeah, he is not your childhood sweetheart"

" He is my childhood friend but..."

Damian's expression darkened.

"Kai, I'm serious."

"I don't like him."

"And I don't trust his intentions."

Damian release grip and took a deep breath.

Kai stared at him for a long moment.

"Then tell me the truth."

Damian froze.

For the first time that night, he looked away.

And that was all the answer Kai needed.

NOT YET

Damian got up from the couch and looked out the window. After a few moments, he turned toward Kai, placed his hands on his shoulders, and spoke softly.

"Baby" he said softly.

The word "baby" that Kai always loved to hear, But this time it felt different.

" Is something bothering you?" he asked softly

Damian cupped his cheek and looked into his eyes.

"I told you, now isn't the right time. But you know I love you, right?"

"Yeah, I know," Kai said with a small smile.

A wave of relief washed over Damian's face.

Kai wasn't sure why, but he chose to trust Damian. After all, Damian had given him a kind of love he never received before.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Damian looked at him as if he wanted to say something more, but before he could, his phone vibrated in his pocket.

His expression changed the moment he glanced at the screen.

Kai noticed it immediately.

"Is everything okay?" he asked.

Damian quickly locked his phone and forced a small smile.

"Yeah. Just some work."

A wave of relief washed over Damian's face when Kai didn't press further.

He stepped closer and gently brushed a strand of hair away from Kai's face.

"I have to go now, baby. I'll be back soon, okay? Take care of yourself."

Kai looked into his eyes and nodded with a small smile.

"Okay. Be careful."

Damian leaned forward and kissed his forehead before heading for the door.

Kai watched him leave, unaware that the doubts in his heart would only grow stronger later that day.

Something about that phone call didn't feel right.

Kai's POV

"He loves me."

Those words echoed in Kai's mind as he made his way to the office.

Damian had never given him a reason to doubt his feelings. He had always been caring, patient, and loving. So why did his heart feel so uneasy today?

"I trust him."

Kai repeated the words to himself, hoping they would silence the growing doubts in his mind.

But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't ignore the strange feeling in his chest.

The way Damian had avoided his gaze for a moment.

The hesitation in his voice.

The look on his face before he left.

Something felt wrong.

Kai shook his head and forced himself to focus on work.

Maybe he was overthinking.

Maybe everything was fine.

Or maybe...

The truth was far worse than he could imagine.

When he arrived at the office, he settled into his chair and started working.

For a while, everything seemed normal.

Then his boss called him.

"Kai, come to my office."

Kai frowned slightly before getting up from his desk.

Damian's POV

The moment the apartment door closed behind him, Damian's smile faded.

He shoved his hands into his pockets and kept walking.

Kai's face lingered in his mind.

For a second, he wondered if he should have said something.

Anything.

But the words never came.

A quiet sigh escaped his lips.

"Not yet..."

The thought settled heavily in his chest.

He hated seeing doubt in Kai's eyes.

Yet no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't bring himself to say what needed to be said.

Maybe someday.

Just not today.

Damian looked ahead and continued walking, trying to ignore the feeling that had been following him for far too long.

Damian glanced at the message again.

One name was enough to make his stomach twist.
