SOMETHING ABOUT YOU

The Day Fate Began

"Sometimes, the most important person in your life starts as a complete stranger."

Riya had always believed that life followed a simple routine—wake up, go to college, return home, and dream about a future that seemed far away. Love was never something she thought much about. To her, it existed only in movies and novels.

But fate had different plans.

It was a pleasant morning when Riya rushed through the crowded streets, already late for class. The city was alive with noise—honking cars, people talking, and the smell of fresh coffee from nearby cafés.

As she hurried across the road, her books suddenly slipped from her hands and scattered everywhere.

"Oh no!" she muttered, kneeling to pick them up.

Just as she reached for the last notebook, another hand grabbed it at the same time.

She looked up.

For a moment, the world seemed to stop.

Standing before her was a young man with warm eyes and a gentle smile. He handed her the notebook without saying a word.

"Here," he said softly.

"T-thank you," Riya replied, feeling strangely nervous.

The boy smiled and walked away.

She watched him disappear into the crowd.

She didn't know his name.

She didn't know where he came from.

But there was something about him that she couldn't explain.

And for the first time in her life, Riya felt that fate had just opened a new chapter.

Little did she know, this was only the beginning of a story that would change her life forever.

Episode 2: The Stranger I Couldn't Forget

"Some people enter your life for a moment. Others leave a mark on your heart forever."

The entire day, Riya tried to convince herself that the stranger meant nothing.

It had been a brief encounter—just a few seconds in a busy street. People met strangers every day. There was no reason for her to keep thinking about him.

Yet she couldn't.

His face kept appearing in her mind like a song she couldn't stop humming.

During class, she stared at the whiteboard while her professor explained an important lesson. The words filled the room, but none of them reached her ears.

Instead, she remembered the way he had looked at her.

The way he had smiled.

The way his voice sounded when he said, "Here."

It was such a simple word.

Yet somehow, it had stayed with her.

"Riya!" a voice suddenly interrupted her thoughts.

She blinked.

Her best friend, Ananya, was staring at her.

"What?"

"I've been calling your name for two minutes!"

The entire class burst into laughter.

Embarrassed, Riya quickly looked down at her notebook.

After class ended, Ananya grabbed her arm.

"Okay, tell me what's going on."

"What do you mean?"

"You've been daydreaming all day."

"I have not."

"Riya, you literally wrote the same sentence three times in your notes."

Riya looked down.

Ananya was right.

She couldn't help but laugh.

"Fine. Maybe I'm just tired."

"Tired?" Ananya smirked. "Or thinking about someone?"

Riya immediately felt her cheeks turn red.

That reaction was enough to make Ananya scream dramatically.

"Oh my God! There IS someone!"

"No!"

"There definitely is."

"No, there isn't!"

Ananya folded her arms and smiled.

"I'll find out eventually."

The rest of the day passed quickly, but Riya's thoughts remained the same.

That evening, she sat beside her bedroom window.

The sky had turned orange as the sun slowly disappeared behind the buildings.

She watched the city lights come alive one by one.

Normally, evenings were her favorite time of the day.

But tonight felt different.

Her thoughts wandered back to the stranger.

"Why can't I stop thinking about him?" she whispered.

Maybe it was because he had appeared unexpectedly.

Maybe it was because she never even got the chance to thank him properly.

Or maybe there was something else.

Something she couldn't explain.

With a sigh, she opened her favorite novel and tried reading.

But after turning the same page three times, she finally gave up.

Even her books couldn't distract her.

That night, she dreamed of him.

She couldn't see his face clearly.

She only remembered his smile.

The next morning, Riya woke up earlier than usual.

For some reason, she felt excited to go to college.

She quickly got ready and left home.

The campus was already busy when she arrived.

Students walked in groups, laughing and chatting.

Riya tried to act normal.

But her eyes kept searching the crowd.

Every time she saw someone with dark hair, her heart skipped a beat.

Every time it wasn't him, disappointment followed.

"Get a grip, Riya," she told herself.

Just then, she noticed someone standing near the library entrance.

Her breath caught.

It was him.

The stranger.

For a moment, everything around her disappeared.

The noise.

The crowd.

The conversations.

All she could see was him.

He was leaning against the library wall, scrolling through his phone.

The morning sunlight reflected softly on his face.

As if sensing someone watching him, he looked up.

Their eyes met.

Again.

Riya's heart began racing.

The stranger stared at her for a second before a small smile appeared on his face.

A smile she instantly recognized.

And suddenly, she found herself smiling too.

Neither of them spoke.

Yet the moment felt strangely familiar.

As if fate had been waiting for this.

Before Riya could gather the courage to walk over to him, a voice called from behind.

"Arjun!"

The boy turned.

A friend waved at him from across the campus.

"Arjun, hurry up!"

Arjun.

The name echoed in her mind.

So that was his name.

Arjun.

For some reason, hearing it made her smile.

She repeated it quietly to herself.

"Arjun."

A beautiful name for a beautiful stranger.

Before she knew it, he was walking away with his friends.

But this time, he glanced back.

Just once.

And smiled.

Riya stood there frozen.

A strange feeling filled her heart.

She didn't know why.

She didn't know what would happen next.

But one thing was certain.

The stranger she couldn't forget finally had a name.

And somehow, she knew this wasn't the end of their story.

It was only the beginning.

Episode 3: His Name Was Arjun

"Sometimes, learning someone's name is the first step toward changing your entire life."

The name stayed in Riya's mind long after he had disappeared into the crowd.

Arjun.

It was strange.

Just yesterday, he had been a complete stranger.

Today, knowing his name felt like discovering a missing piece of a puzzle she didn't even know she was solving.

The entire morning, she couldn't stop thinking about him.

As she sat in class, her notebook lay open in front of her, but instead of taking notes, she found herself absentmindedly writing the same name over and over.

Arjun.

When she realized what she had done, she quickly closed the notebook and looked around to make sure no one had noticed.

Unfortunately, Ananya was sitting right beside her.

"What are you hiding?" Ananya asked suspiciously.

"Nothing."

"Then why did you slam your notebook shut like it contains state secrets?"

Riya laughed nervously.

"You're imagining things."

Ananya narrowed her eyes.

"No. You're definitely hiding something."

Before Riya could answer, the professor entered the classroom.

Saved by the bell.

But only for now.

After class, Riya headed toward the library.

She needed a quiet place to study.

Or at least that's what she told herself.

Deep down, she knew there was another reason.

Part of her hoped she would see Arjun again.

As she walked through the library doors, the familiar scent of books filled the air.

The room was peaceful.

Rows of shelves stretched in every direction.

Students sat quietly reading or working on assignments.

Riya chose a seat near the window and opened her textbook.

Ten minutes passed.

Then twenty.

She had barely read a page.

A sudden movement caught her attention.

Someone sat down at the table across from her.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Slowly, she looked up.

It was him.

Arjun.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Both seemed surprised by the coincidence.

Then Arjun smiled.

"Looks like we keep meeting."

Riya felt her cheeks warm.

"I guess we do."

There was a brief silence.

Not awkward.

Just unexpected.

"I'm Arjun," he said, extending his hand.

Riya smiled.

"I know."

Arjun looked confused.

"You know?"

"I heard your friend calling your name earlier."

He laughed softly.

"Well, now that doesn't seem very mysterious."

His laugh made Riya smile.

"I'm Riya."

"Nice to officially meet you, Riya."

As their hands met, a strange feeling passed through her.

Not fear.

Not nervousness.

Something warmer.

Something she couldn't explain.

For the next few minutes, they talked about simple things.

Their classes.

Favorite books.

College life.

Nothing extraordinary.

Yet somehow, every conversation felt effortless.

As if they had known each other much longer than a few minutes.

Hours seemed to pass in seconds.

For the first time in a long while, Riya forgot about everything else.

The pressure of studies.

Her worries about the future.

Even the world outside the library.

It was just the two of them talking and laughing.

Eventually, Arjun glanced at his watch.

"I should go."

Riya felt a small wave of disappointment.

"Oh."

Arjun smiled.

"We'll probably run into each other again."

Probably.

The word lingered in her mind.

Before leaving, he paused.

"See you soon, Riya."

Then he walked away.

Riya watched him disappear between the bookshelves.

A smile slowly appeared on her face.

For the first time, he wasn't just a stranger.

He wasn't just a name.

He was Arjun.

And something told her that this was only the beginning of a story neither of them expected.
