Boy:Excuse me. Are you geetting welt"?
Riya:"Oh a little bit. The rains to heavy".
Boy:"I'm Ayan.you can share my umbrella if you want. "
Riya:Thank you. Ayan. I'm Riya. That's very kind of you".
Ayan smailed warmly. Making Riya's heart skip a beat. They strared walking down the wet sidewalk togather.
Ayan:So Riya, Where are you heading in this stormy weather? Library. But now i'm stuck".
Ayan:"What a coincide! I was going there too. "
Riya:Really? Are you a student there? "
Ayan:"Yes i just joined the literature department this week".
Riya :"Wow! I love literature to Especially romantic poetry".
Ayan:"Then we already have something in common.
Riya blushed slightly looking away at the falling rain. The silence between them felt strangely comfortable.
Ayan:Be careful! There is a big puddle ahead. "
Before she could react Ayan gently caught her hand to pull her away from the splashing water.
Riya :"Ah thank you. I didn't see that. "
Ayan:Your hands are freezing Riya".
Riya:"Yes i forget my jacket at home today".
Ayan:Here take mine. I don't need it right now ".
Ayan took off his warm denim jacket and gently placed it over her shoulders.
Riya:"But you will catch a cold, Ayan!".
Ayan: don't worry about me. Your smile is enough to keep me warm.
Riya felt her cheeks burning up. They finally arrived at the huge city libary. But inside their hearts a new feeling was just beginning
Ayan:"Well we are here thanks for walking with ne. Riya
Riya:"Ni Ayan. Thank you for the umbrella and thus jacket."
Ayan:"Can't i.... See here again tomorrow ".
They walked inside the quiet libary very beautiful rainy afternoon.
Riya:" Yes ayan i will definitely come to the libary tomorrow at 4pm.
Ayan:"Great "will be,waiting for you near the window seat.
They found a quite corner in the libary filled with old books. The small of paper and the sound of soft rain outside made the moment magical.
Riya"Which book are you looking for,
Ayan?
Ayan:I'm" searching for a classic poerty book by shakespear".
Riya:"Oh, i know. Where it is!. Follow me. "
Riya walked ahead, and ayan followed her watching her long hair move gently. She reached up to a high shelf to grab the book. "
Riya:"Ah. It's so high. I can't reach it!"
Ayan : Let me help you with that. ".
Ayan stepped closer behind her. reaching his long arm up to get the book. For a 2nd they were standing, very close, and Riya could hear her own heartbeat racing.
Ayan:" is this, the one you wanted.
Riya:"Yes thank... You Ayan.
Ayan: no prb, Riya. I'm glad i could help. "
Ayan:" Don't worry about me. Your smile is enough to keep me warm. "
Riya and Ayan sat down at a quiet wooden table near the back of the library. Outside, the rain started pouring heavily again, but the warm yellow light of the library lamp made everything feel cozy.
Ayan: "Are you still feeling cold, Riya? You are shivering."
Riya: "A little bit. But your denim jacket is really helping. Thank you."
Ayan: "Wait here for a few minutes. Don't go anywhere."
Before Riya could ask, Ayan stood up and walked out of the reading room. After ten minutes, he came back holding two warm paper cups. A sweet aroma of milk tea filled the air.
Ayan: "Here, I found a small tea machine near the hallway. Drink this."
Riya: "Wow, thank you so much! You are so thoughtful, Ayan."
Ayan: "It's nothing. I just didn't want my new friend to get sick."
Riya took a sip of the warm tea. It tasted amazing, and she could feel the coldness disappearing from her hands. She looked at Ayan, who was staring out the glass window at the rain.
Riya: "So, Ayan, why did you choose the literature department?"
Ayan: "Because books don't lie. They hold beautiful worlds inside them."
Riya: "That is beautiful. My favorite writer is Rabindranath Tagore. What about you?"
Ayan: "I love his poems too! Especially the ones about rain and longing."
Riya: "We really have a lot of things in common, don't we?"
Ayan: "Yes, we do. Maybe it wasn't an accident that we met under that awning."
Riya felt her heart skip a beat again. She looked down at her tea cup, trying to hide her blushing face.
Ayan: "By the way, Riya, do you come to this library every day?"
Riya: "Mostly on rainy days. I love reading while listening to the raindrops."
Ayan: "Then I hope it rains every single day from now on."
Riya: "Why is that?"
Ayan: "Because then I will get to see you here every day."
Riya's eyes widened in surprise. Ayan smiled gently, his eyes filled with absolute sincerity. The silence between them didn't feel awkward at all; it felt like the beginning of a sweet melody.
Ayan looked down at his watch and realized it was getting late. The light outside the window was fading, and the library would close soon.
Riya: "The time went by so fast today. I didn't even notice."
Ayan: "That happens when you are spending time with someone special."
Riya: "Am I someone special to you already, Ayan?"
Ayan: "Yes, Riya. I think you became special the moment you stepped under my umbrella."
Riya smiled softly, her heart doing happy flips. She packed her books into her bag, feeling a little sad that the afternoon was ending.
Ayan: "Let me walk you to the bus stop, Riya. It is still drizzling a bit."
Riya: "Are you sure? I don't want to trouble you anymore."
Ayan: "It is never a trouble to walk with you. Let's go."
They stood up together and walked towards the exit door of the library. As they stepped outside, the cool evening breeze hit their faces. Ayan opened his big umbrella once again, holding it carefully over Riya's head.
Riya: "Thank you for today, Ayan. This was the best rainy day of my life."
Ayan: "Mine too, Riya. And remember, we are meeting here again tomorrow at four PM."
Riya: "I won't forget. See you tomorrow, Ayan!"
Ayan watched her safely get onto the bus, waving his hand with a bright smile. This rainy afternoon was officially over, but their beautiful love story had just begun.
