There are some people you meet once and never see again.
There are some people you meet occasionally.
There is that one person who appears in every important moment of your life like a curse.
7-year-old Aadhya
"That's my swing!"
7-year-old Arjun
"No. I saw it first."
7-year-old Arjun
"Cry about it."
Both children were dragged away by their mothers.
A legendary rivalry was born.
Nandini Sharma/FL Mom
"Aadhya! Wake up!"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Five more minutes..."
Nandini Sharma/FL Mom
"You've been saying that for twenty minutes."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Then clearly I need twenty-five more."
Nandini Sharma/FL Mom
"AADHYA!"
Aadhya walked downstairs.
Her hair looked like it had lost a fight.
Siddharth Sharma/FL Brotehr
"Good morning, zombie."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Good morning, disappointment."
Siddharth Sharma/FL Brotehr
"Aww. She loves me."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Unfortunately."
Saanvi Sharma/FL Sister
"Didi, your hair looks scary."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Thank you."
Saanvi Sharma/FL Sister
"That wasn't a compliment."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Too late."
Raghav Sharma/FL Dad
"Ready for college?"
Raghav Sharma/FL Dad
"You're going anyway."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Tragic."
Meera Rathore/ML Mom
"Arjun."
Meera Rathore/ML Mom
"Get up."
Meera Rathore/ML Mom
"College."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Still no."
Meera Rathore/ML Mom
"ARJUUUN!!!"
Arjun's eyes shot open while he flinched.
He started breathing rapidly and put his hand on his right chest.
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Aah! Mom, your scream made my heart really weak....."
Arjun Rathore/ML
*Started fake-sobbing*
Meera Rathore/ML Mom
"Abe oh! Dil right pe nhi, left pe hota hai, Mr. Weak Heart!"
*Translation: Oh hello! The heart is on the left side of the chest, not on the right! *
Saying this, Meera rolled her eyes and left his room.
Arjun entered the dining room.
Shanaya Rathore/ML Sister
""Look who's alive.""
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Barely."
Rajveer Rathore/ML Dad
"Don't start any trouble today."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You say that every day."
Rajveer Rathore/ML Dad
"Because every day you prove me right."
Shanaya Rathore/ML Sister
"Try not to argue with Aadhya."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"She started it."
Shanaya Rathore/ML Sister
"You haven't even seen her today..."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Preparation is important."
Students rushed across campus.
Assignments were pending.
Aadhya stepped out of the car.
At the exact same moment...
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Not you again."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
" I was having such a good morning."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You move."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"I was here first."
A first-year student watched them.
First-year student: "Who are they!?"
Random Student: "Aadhya Sharma and Arjun Rathore."
First-Year Student: "Why are they fighting?"
Random Student: Nobody knows anymore.
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"There you are!"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Guess who I saw."
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"Arjun."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"How did you know?"
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"Because whenever you look annoyed, he's involved."
Ayaan Kapoor/FL Friend
"Honestly, at this point you two should receive a joint attendance sheet."
Tara Khanna/FL Friend
"Or a shared complaint record."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Very funny."
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"You met Aadhya, didn't you?"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"How can you tell?"
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Your eye is twitching."
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
"That's usually the sign."
Vihaan Mehra/ML Friend
"Or a warning."
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
*Grinning*
Professor Kavita Rao
"Good morning, class."
Class: "Good morning, ma'am."
Professor Kavita Rao
"For your next project—"
Aadhya suddenly felt nervous.
Professor Kavita Rao
"You will work in pairs."
Professor Kavita Rao
"Excuse me!?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Nothing, Ma'am."
Professor Kavita Rao
"Good."
Professor Kavita Rao
"Now. I've already selected the pairs."
Professor Kavita Rao
"Arjun Rathore"
Professor Kavita Rao
"and...."
Professor Kavita Rao
"AADHYA SHARMA!"
The kind of silence people observe before a natural disaster.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Ma'am..."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Ma'am!?"
Professor Kavita Rao
"No."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"What if—"
Professor Kavita Rao
"Still no!"
Professor Kavita Rao
"This project is worth thirty percent of your grade."
Professor Kavita Rao
"You'll work together."
Professor Kavita Rao
"End of discussion."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"This is the worst day of my life."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"For once, we agree.."
Neither of them knew it yet.
Was about to become the beginning of a very long disaster.
Stupid Author!
Bye bye, lovely readers! 😌
Episode 2: The Project From Hell
The moment Professor Kavita Rao announced the project pairs, the atmosphere inside the classroom shifted.
Not because the project was difficult.
Not because it was worth thirty percent of their grade.
But because the entire class had just witnessed Aadhya Sharma and Arjun Rathore being paired together.
A collective feeling of second-hand embarrassment spread through the room.
Everyone knew this wasn't going to end well.
Aadhya sat frozen in her seat, staring at the whiteboard with a blank expression.
Beside her, Naina looked seconds away from laughing.
Ayaan had already lowered his head onto the desk.
Tara quietly closed her notebook.
She was preparing for disaster.
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"This is cinema."
*Whispered dramatically*
Aadhya Sharma/FL
*without looking at her*
"Say another word and I'll throw my water bottle at you."
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"Worth it."
On the opposite side of the classroom, Kabir nearly fell off his chair.
Veer was openly laughing.
Vihaan looked exhausted despite it being only the first lecture of the day.
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Brother, you're finished."
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Because I'd rather wrestle a crocodile than work with Aadhya."
Vihaan Mehra/ML Friend
"And yet, here we are..."
Students immediately began packing their bags.
The classroom erupted into chatter.
Aadhya and Arjun remained seated.
Neither wanted to be the first person to approach the other.
It was a matter of pride.
Professor Kavita Rao
*gathering her books* "Why are you two still sitting there?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Waiting."
Professor Kavita Rao
"For what?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"For the other one to come here."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"For the other one to come here."
Both said at the same time..
The professor closed her eyes.
Professor Kavita Rao
"Just discuss the project."
Professor Kavita Rao
"NOW!"
The canteen buzzed with conversations.
Students occupied nearly every table.
The smell of samosas, sandwiches, and coffee filled the air.
At the counter, Mahesh Singh was taking orders while silently judging everyone's life choices.
She claimed an empty table near the window and dropped her bag onto the chair.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
*Immediately annoyed*
"You're late!"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"By two minutes."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Exactly."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"I didn't realize I was attending a military briefing."
Aadhya narrowed her eyes.
Arjun looked completely unbothered.
Which somehow made it worse.
Mahesh Singh (Canteen Uncle)
*passing by*
"You're fighting already?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"We're discussing."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Very professionally."
Mahesh Singh (Canteen Uncle)
"Sure."
Aadhya pulled out her notebook and flipped it open.
Arjun sat across from her, leaning back comfortably in his chair.
The contrast was ridiculous.
One looked ready for a board meeting.
The other looked like he had accidentally wandered into it.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Let's divide the work equally."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Agreed."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"No excuses."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"No drama."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Excuse me?"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You heard me."
For a brief moment, both simply stared at each other.
Were all pretending not to watch.
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"They're definitely arguing."
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Obviously."
Ayaan Kapoor/FL Friend
"Can they hear us?"
Tara Khanna/FL Friend
"Probably."
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
*Eating Fries*
"Good."
Vihaan Mehra/ML Friend
"Why?"
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
"Free entertainment."
Aadhya scribbled something in her notebook.
Then pushed it across the table.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Here's the schedule."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You made a schedule?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Of course."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You made a project schedule within ten minutes."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Productivity scares you, doesn't it?"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"A little."
To her immense frustration...
A laugh almost escaped her.
Almost simultaneously, Arjun noticed the corner of her mouth twitch.
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Were you about to laugh?"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You were!"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Hallucination."
The discussion finally ended.
Without anyone getting arrested.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
*Standing up and slinging her bag over one shoulder*
"Tomorrow. Library. Four o'clock."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Don't be late."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Don't be dramatic."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Don't be annoying."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Impossible!"
Aadhya rolled her eyes and walked away.
Arjun watched her disappear into the crowd before shaking his head.
Their friends watched the entire interaction.
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"Interesting.."
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Concerning."
Tara Khanna/FL Friend
"Very concerning."
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
"Can someone order more fries?"
Vihaan Mehra/ML Friend
"Your priorities terrify me."
Neither Aadhya nor Arjun realized it yet.
But for two people who supposedly couldn't stand each other...
They had just spent an entire hour together.
And neither had walked away.

Episode 3: Library Warfare
The university library was known for three things.
And Mrs. D'Souza's terrifying ability to appear out of nowhere whenever someone made noise.
Aadhya Sharma and Arjun Rathore were about to challenge all three.
At exactly 3:55 PM, Aadhya pushed open the library doors and stepped inside.
A stack of neatly arranged notes rested against her chest.
Her hair was tied into a high ponytail.
Because she knew who she was meeting.
Students occupied most of the tables.
Some were pretending to study.
And some were staring blankly into space while questioning their degree choices.
Arjun was lounging in his chair near a corner table.
One elbow rested on the table.
A notebook lay open in front of him.
His attention, however, was completely focused on his phone.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
*Walking oevr*
"You're unbelievable."
Immediately, a look of annoyance appeared on his face.
Almost like it was automatic.
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Hello to you too."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"We're supposed to be working.."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"It's 3:58."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Exactly!"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"The meeting starts at four."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"So be prepared before four."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Do you hear yourself?"
Aadhya dropped her notes onto the table with unnecessary force.
Several students looked up.
One immediately put his headphones back on.
He wasn't getting invollvedd.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"You know what your problem is?"
Arjun Rathore/ML
"The fact that I'm sitting with you?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Your attitude.."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Your existence."
Across the table, Aadhya's jaw dropped.
Not because she was offended.
Because she was preparing a comeback.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"At least I have a personality."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Being argumentative isn't a personality trait."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Being lazy isn't one either."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"I'm not lazxy."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Really?"
She slowly reached forward.
Then slowly turned the notebook around and pushed it toward him.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Explain this."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"It's called saving paperr."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"It's called doing absolutely nothing."
Arjun leaned back in his chair.
A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
The exact expression Aadhya hated.
Arjun Rathore/ML
"You're awfully dramatic for someone carrying color-coded notes."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Don't insult my color-coded notes."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Theyre color-coded"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"They're organized."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Theyre terrifying"
The project hadn't progressed.
The two had somehow shifted into an argument about note-taking methods.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Your handwriting looks like a dying mosquito crawled across the page."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"At least I don't decorate my headings."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Those are called titles"
Arjun Rathore/ML
""Those are called arts and crafts.""
Naina, Tara, and Ayaan had entered the library.
The moment they spotted Aadhya and Arjun...
Naina Agnihotri/FL BFF
"They're fighting already."
Tara Khanna/FL Friend
"It's been ten minutes."
Ayaan Kapoor/FL Friend
"New record."
On the opposite side of the library...
Kabir, Veer, and Vihaan had arrived too.
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Should we help?"
Vihaan Mehra/ML Friend
"No."
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
"Absolutely not!"
Kabir Raizada/ML BFF
"Why?"
Veer Malhotra/ML Friend
"I enjoy living.."
Aadhya was writing something in her notebook when Arjun suddenly reached over and pulled it away.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"EXCUSE ME?!"
Several heads snapped toward them.
Arjun Rathore/ML
"I'm checking what you're writing."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Give it back."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Aadhya."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Give. It. Back."
He immediately leaned away with the notebook.
The glare she shot him could've powered a small city.
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Violence isn't the answer."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"It's about to become one."
A shadow appeared beside their table.
The nearby students looked up.
Mrs. D'Souza stood there.
Mrs. D'Souza (Librarian)
"Would you two like to continue this outside?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"No, ma'am."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Of course not, ma'am."
Mrs. D'Souza (Librarian)
"Good."
Nobody moved for five seconds.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
*Whispering*
"This is your fault."
Arjun Rathore/ML
*Whispering back*
"How?"
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Because you exist."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Thats not a valid arhument."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"It's valid to me."
They actually finished part of the project.
But enough to survive another day.
Aadhya packed her things.
Arjun closed his notebook.
Both stood up simultaneously.
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Tomorrow."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"Unfortunately."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Four o'clock."
Arjun Rathore/ML
"I know how clocks work."
Aadhya Sharma/FL
"Debatable.."
Neither willing to look away first.
Because apparently even eye contact was a competition.
Finally, they turned and walked in opposite directions.
And somewhere in the library...
Mrs. D'Souza silently wondered if banning them both would solve all her problems
