Ep.1 Awakening
The alarm rings and Takashi bolts upright in his bed.
Takashi
What a weird dream..
He shakes his head and looks at the time on his phone, seeing that it was already past 8am
Takashi
Oh shit! I'm late for class!
Rushing in a panic, he jumps out of bed and throws on a hoodie that should still be clean a few more days and a pair of fresh bootcut jeans. Slipping into his sneakers he runs out of his small apartment, barely remembering to lock the door in his rush.
He was running late because of a weird dream that, surprisingly, wasn't yet fading from his memory.
Takashi
Of all the damn days for the alarm to fail me!
His old sneakers slapped against the worn cement stairs as he took them 2 at a time, rushing to get to class.
Even as he ran, the dream wouldn't leave his mind, so real he felt he had actually been there. The light blue energy swirling around him and the feeling of incredibly wild power was intoxicating, but the pain in his body, the coppery tang of blood and the taste of smoke filled him with horror.
The dream had shown him a landscape that looked like Capital City, as if it had been razed and left to nature for centuries, and inside were monsters fighting humans with blood and gore scattered everywhere like a toddlers blocks.
Takashi remembered fighting, his energy swirling into shapes, becoming primordial elements, and making other kinds of weapons to slaughter the monsters.
The memory alone filled him with nausea and he had to fight down the bile threatening to rise up his throat.
Takashi shook his head to clear out the thoughts plauging him.
Takashi
It's just a dumb dream!
He screamed out of nowhere, causing several people around him to jump in surprise as soon as he left the apartment complex.
Since he was running late he decided to take a shortcut by cutting through the alleys. As soon as he left the main street behind the air suddenly felt different...
The muggy atmosphere of trapped heat and filth, rank and oppressive, vanished. Replaced with something that triggered a deep, primitive fear inside him.
Takashi
W-what...is...going on?
Takashi
The air feels so heavy...
He looked around the alleyway he found himself in. The walls looked worn out, bricks were missing as if torn out in some places, or looked like a set of massive claws ripped through entire sections.
Takashi
Seriously...the hell is...all this...
Takashi looked up, the blue sky was an ugly bruise colored...and there were no sounds. No birds, no insects, no cars, even the consistent hum of electricity...it was all missing. Swallowed up by all encompassing silence.
Takashi
T-that isn't...right either...
Panic was beginning to flare in his chest, cold sweat forming on his back made his shirt cling to him uncomfortably.
He took a tentative step.
A sudden rumble ran through the area just as he was taking another step and making him lose his balance. He fell on his ass hard. Looking up, he saw a pillar of smoke rising into the sky.
SYSTEM ACTIVATION: AWAKENING DETECTED
A transparent, blue tinted screen, like in old school video games, appeared in his vision.

Huh... Awakening...detected? What does that even mea-
