Almost Us
Chapter 1: The Empty Seat
The classroom was louder than usual.
students chatted with their friends.
while waiting for the class to begin.
Ethan sat on his seat as usual.
looking out of the window.
the boy standing beside him smiled before dropping his bag onto the empty desk.
Aiden Brooks
Nice to meet you too. Ethan.
Most people stopped talking to Ethan after a few minutes.
But Aiden doesn't seem to be doing that.
Then the teacher arrived, and began the class.
From time to time, Ethan noticed Aiden doodling in a corner of his notebook.
And for once, he caught Aiden staring out of the window.
It was the final bell ring of the day.
Aiden Brooks
Hey, surviving school is the toughest thing.
Aiden Brooks
Then see you tomorrow.
it was nothing but a short conversation.
Just a new classmate sitting in an empty seat.
So why couldn't Ethan stop thinking about him on his way home.
Authy rush
Why can't Ethan not stop thinking about Aiden.
Chapter 2: A New Routine
someone would wave at him.
Aiden Brooks
You remembered me.
Ethan Cole
We met yesterday.
Without realizing it, talking to Aiden became part of Ethan's routine.
Aiden Brooks
What do you usually do after school?
Aiden Brooks
You're making me sound exciting.
For the first time in a long while, school didn't feel quite as boring.
And Ethan wasn't sure how he felt about that.
The cafeteria was crowded.
Ethan searched for an empty seat.
There was a free chair beside him.
Authy rush
What will happen next?
Authy rush
First classmates?
Authy rush
Now saving seats for each other.
Authy rush
Eating lunch together.
Authy rush
I've been delaying.
Authy rush
writing this one.
Authy rush
I'm still not satisfied.
Authy rush
but anyway I'm writing.
Chapter 3: Missing
The seat beside Aiden was empty.
Aiden Brooks
Where's Ethan?
Aiden Brooks
Yeah i guess.
The day felt strangely long.
And much quieter than usual.
After school, Aiden checked his phone.
Aiden Brooks
Still no messages.
Aiden Brooks
You're alive.
Ethan Cole
That's one way to say hello.
Aiden Brooks
You disappeared!
Aiden Brooks
You could've told me.
Ethan Cole
I didn't think it mattered.
For a moment, Aiden looked genuinely confused.
Aiden Brooks
Of course it mattered.
Nobody had ever sounded disappointed about his absence before.
Aiden Brooks
Don't apologize.
Aiden Brooks
Just don't scare me like that again.
Later that night, Ethan found himself smiling at his phone.
But it stayed there longer than expected.
Authy rush
HE SMILED. (╹▽╹)
Authy rush
I'm also looking forward to it.
Authy rush
Anyone excited?
Authy rush

Authy rush
i hope you like it.
