I am Dana, I am 13 years old, living in town with my grandmother in S city.

my mother died with disease and after her death my father married to a women in no time and settled in Y city.

On starry night i was looking at the sky with tearful eyes pleading god...there was something for which I was desperately praying.

5 years ago.....

In summer vacation I came to one of my distant relative's house they were living with their daughter (lily) and son(Karen).

'It was one of the best days and was beginning of the curse.'

I saw Karen for the first time but that impression of him made a slight beat in my heart.

In no time he became a shine in my dark world but I lacked confident to confess cuz I was not sure about my looks.

I just watched him secretively with so much sparkle in my eyes.

One day the Karen asked me for cycling (I was in seventh sky)

we cycled for almost for one hour and then we found a place to rest.

Karen: are you alright?

Dana:(shyly) ya kind of.

Karen: would you like to go to one place with me?

Dana: (I nodded)

he offered his hand to provide a support to make me stand that was the happiest moment of my life.

I put my hand in his...his hand was warm and soft like a silk

we reached there....

Dana: I can't se anything..is this your secret place.

he hold my hand and pulled me inside a shabby bush.

I was in dilemma ... actually we entered in a secret garden and it is hell beautiful.

Karen:do you like it?

Dana: who would not!..how did you find this place.

Karen: I don't remember but whenever I used to get upset i ran towards this place

we joked,enjoyed and talked till dawn then we came back.(this memory of him get printed in my head)

lily was my only childhood friend because at that time no one was interested in talking to me or playing with me so she was the only girl who took the initiative.

I told lily about my crush and she was very excited.

lily: who is that lucky person taken my little sis heart.

Dana: (hesitantly) he is your brother.. whenever I see him I feel something in my heart.

lily: (with a little laugh)silly why are you hiding it go and confess him

Dana: no my present self is no good in comparison to him...I want to became a better version of my self than only I will be confident to confess.

My vacation ended and I came to grandma again and I never told him about my blossom feeling cuz I wanted to start on my words.

Everyday I look at the sky with tearful eyes and ask God why only he made me ugly and pleaded for beauty.

what have destiny written for her? will she able to get her first love?

I tried everything to get a glow on my face and decided to gain some weight

I was very happy cuz days of meeting him was way close but ....destiny had another plan.

instead of happiness sorrow knocked my door , grandma passed away who was my only support in this cruel world.

I still remembered.....

when I was 5, at times I used to cry hiding under the bed in darkness(afraid of being seen by grandma in my worst state).

I don't know how but she would able to find me whenever I cried.

she would put my head on her thighs and would tell me.....

Grandmother: Dana my child don't cry, what if God had taken your mother,she would definitely ask him to send someone for her sweet baby at her place.

Dana: grandma you will never leave me... right?

Grandmother: (laugh) how can I even leave my little princess alone.

"grandma you lied to me and left me alone.. how could you grandma how could you (cried loudly)

I was a huge burden for my close relatives so to release this burden they passed me to the most disgusting person 'my father'.

my father have a family of two , my stepmother (Linda) and my stepsister (Aliya).

One day Alita came to me for the first time since I came here.

Alita: Dana, father is calling you downstairs.

Dana:(confused)Okay,I am coming in two minutes.

I never thought what was he really going to say......

father: Dan, I heard that you are misbehaving with your mother when she was asking or saying anything to you.

Dana:I just told her she not to act like mother cuz she would never be.

father: shut up you ungrateful child. Tomorrow onwards you are going school with Alita to learn some basic manners

I saw a wicked smile on Linda's face

Next day we(me and Linda) were dropped by driver in the school.... neither me nor Alita took the initiative to interact with each other,we both were in complete silence.

My home teacher introduced me to the whole class but they seemed to have least interest in me.

I'm asked to sit with a boy whose name is Jacob, he is having a good face with a bright eyes, rosy lips and fair skin tone with perfect height.

he was continuously staring at me with ugly smile.

Jacob: hey girl you are average, (mockingly) don't ever try to seduce me,am not interested in girls like you.

I didn't say anything cuz he was already categorised on my list of rubbish people.

after school driver came to pick us up ..this time Alita tried to have a talk.....

Alita: how was your day?did you made any friend?

Dana:(amazed) ya it was ok ok, still I haven't made any friends but a mad and annoying boy whose name is Jacob.

Alita told me that Jacob is her cousin. Next day she scold Jacob and asked him to be good with me.

after a week I was blamed by the girls of seducing boys.

At that time Jacob was the only one who made a move to help me and and then the second person came in front 'Alita'.

Alita is good and care for me is what everyone says but it was very difficult to believe cuz she was too perfect

I cam to Jacob...

Dana: thanks for taking a stand...and don't worry I will not seduce you cuz I have already someone.

Jacob:(laughing)I was joking on that day, I can't believe you took it seriously.

we both laughed and forgot everything happened in past and began to understand each other.

One evening,

lily called me, after taking it...tears started falling from my eyes like rain.

Dana:(hesitantly) what did he say?

Lily:(sadly)he said that he already have a girlfriend and he asked you to forget him.

I disconnected lily's phone call cuz tears were out my control..

"my eyes were red.

I am not sad.

I am hurt...."

I silently cried for the whole night under my blanket and imagined how good it would have been if he just accepted my feelings.

Next day I got ready for the school like everyday and reached school.

Jacob:(laughingly) seriously you are looking as if you are possess by a ghost.

Dana: I wasn't able to get a proper sleep last night cuz I missed grandma.

Jacob: Hey girl listen you are not alone so stop making yourself lonelier.

I realized that Jacob has a strong point and decided to change myself.

3 years passed in a blink of eye

These year 'I have changed a lot' that's what everyone says....I became uglier to beautiful for people with typical thinking.

In these year Jacob support me mentally and consoled me by saying 'you was always beautiful but you never gave a chance to yourself'.

I took his word as one of his cheesy words but later I realized he was quite serious.

Everyone including Alita felt that Jacob was having some romantic feeling but I ignored it for a time being.

My inner self was afraid for our friendship to get destroyed so I started to keep a distance from him.

One day his frustration came out because of my continuous ignorance.

He hold my hand tightly and pushed me to the wall...he was so close that I can hear his heart beat.

Dana:(shocked)Jacob what are you doing? leave me.

Jacob: Dan I loved you from the first time I saw you believe me.

Dana:(angrily)Listen carefully I don't want to have any relationship with you.

Jacob: I am leaving your hand for now but not you... remember it.

I ran off towards my car without turning back.

That night was the longest night of my life...I cried for the whole night and kept this is happening to me.

I was afraid cuz "heart was made to be broken" that's what I believed.

"Pleasure of love last a moment. Pain of love love last a lifetime."

I didn't want him(Jacob) to be feel the same pain that I felt.

Next day I went for a sport selection, I went to practice for ball catching.

I don't know what came to my mind I turned back to see the main entrance gate....and there he was standing under the sun and sweating like hell.

he waited till the school got over, I came out of the ground and walk straight ignoring him.

I got irritated cuz of his continuous following.

Dana: why the hell was you standing on the entrance?

Jacob: (smiling) so you noticed.

Dana:(irritated) first answer me.

Jacob:"if you want to shine like a sun in someone eyes first burn like a sun".

what will Dana say?will she accept Jacob's true feeling?
