There once existed a great kingdom ruled by King Nero — an immortal, wicked, and cruel king. Because of him, his people suffered greatly. Anyone who made even the smallest mistake faced harsh punishments: execution, banishment from their homes, and many other terrible fates.
He had to be replaced, for almost no one supported him. The people wanted him gone and driven out, just as he had done to everyone who had ever crossed him.
The one meant to take his place was King Haru — a brave, kind, and noble soul, the complete opposite of King Nero. Where Nero was evil, Haru was goodness itself. He was loved by all, and the people longed for him to rule as their king.
But when King Nero learned Haru was to take his throne, he summoned three soldiers at once and ordered them to execute Haru. He declared that anyone who dared oppose him or stood by Haru would be executed alongside him — and the three soldiers carried this warning across the land.
The people wanted to stand with Haru, but if they disobeyed or took his side, they too would be put to death. With no other choice, they bowed their heads in sorrow and agreed to obey.
The soldiers delivered Nero’s sentence to Haru. Haru refused at first, burning with anger — until they told him clearly: if he did not accept, the people would die in his place. Loving his people more than his own life, Haru agreed to the unjust punishment — but only on one condition: before his death, he would share a secret he had long kept hidden from everyone, and especially from King Nero. A secret he had spent years planning.
The day of the execution arrived. Nero ordered every citizen to gather in the town square, where a guillotine stood waiting.
Haru walked forward, hands bound tight behind his back. The crowd watched in tears, their hearts heavy with grief. Up on his high throne, King Nero sat and smiled, enjoying every step Haru took toward his end.
Just before the blade was to fall, Haru asked to speak — to tell the secret he had promised, the one he had kept from Nero and the whole kingdom.
Haru spoke: “My beloved people, I am Haru, the one meant to be your king. Before I leave you, I must share a great and powerful secret.”
There was a truth Haru needed them to know — a secret that could change their entire kingdom, and finally bring an end to Nero’s reign.
“Seek out the Moon Zone,” Haru told them. “You must find it, for if you do not, you will never be safe again. It holds great treasure, yes — but it holds great danger too. Only those who travel together will survive; anyone who goes alone will surely perish.”
The Moon Zone was a place no one had ever reached — a mystery only Haru knew the way to, filled with trials strong enough to destroy anyone who dared enter unprepared.
“If you truly want peace,” Haru went on, “then do this: kill the one who ordered my death. At the heart of the Moon Zone, you will find a weapon pierced into the ground. Take it, return here, and strike down the one who sent me to die. Whoever wields that blade and takes his life shall be the next rightful king to sit upon the throne.”
King Nero’s smile vanished. “Kill him now!” he roared. “End him! Do not let him speak another word! Behead him at once!”
Haru threw his head back and laughed — “HAHAHAHA!” — a bright, fearless laugh even as the blade fell.
As soon as the deed was done, the crowd scattered in every direction, racing to find the Moon Zone. Nero could do nothing but watch — until he gathered his loyal soldiers and named them Hunters. Their mission: hunt down and destroy everyone searching for the Moon Zone, so that Nero could claim its treasures for himself. He promised any Hunter who served him well would become the most powerful warrior in the whole world — if only they could stop Haru’s final secret from coming true.
