I FELL FOR MY GUARDIAN
chapter 1
Rain poured relentlessly from the dark sky.
The city lights blurred behind sheets of rain as luxury cars sped through the empty streets.
Inside a black sedan, Alexander Knight sat in silence.
At only twenty years old, he had already built a name that made people both admire and fear him.
His sharp features were expressionless.
His dark hair was slightly damp from the rain.
The expensive suit he wore looked flawless despite the long day.
But his mood was anything but.
The deal he had spent months negotiating had fallen apart in a single meeting.
His grip tightened around the steering wheel.
The tires cut through the wet road as he drove through the deserted street.
The headlights illuminated the darkness ahead.
A small figure suddenly appeared in the middle of the road.
Alexander’s eyes widened.
A small figure lay motionless in front of his car.
For the first time in years, panic appeared on his face.
He rushed out of the car and dropped to his knees.
He gently tapped the boy’s cheek.
Nothing.
His heartbeat became uneven.
Without another thought, he lifted the unconscious child into his arms and drove straight to the hospital.
As the nurses rushed over with a stretcher, he carefully laid the boy down.
His voice was cold.
But the slight tremble in his hands told a different story.
chapter 2
The red light above the operating room finally turned off.
A doctor stepped out, removing his mask.
Alexander immediately stood up.
Alexander Knight
How is he? *cold*
Doctor
The child is stable for now,
Doctor
Fortunately, the injuries aren’t life-threatening. However, he’s severely malnourished and exhausted. We’ll need to keep him under observation tonight.
Alexander silently nodded.
Alexander Knight
Do whatever is necessary .*cold*
After paying the hospital bills and purchasing the prescribed medicines, he arranged for a private nurse to stay with the boy overnight.
The next morning.
Alexander returned to the hospital carrying a cup of coffee.
The nurse noticed him and smiled.

The child woke up a little while ago.
Without responding, Alexander pushed open the door.
A small figure sat on the hospital bed.
The boy looked even smaller in the oversized hospital gown. His pale face was thin from hunger, and his wrists looked fragile enough to break. Yet despite everything, he was strangely beautiful.
Soft dark hair framed his face. Large eyes cautiously stared at the stranger who entered.
Alexander walked closer. The boy immediately tensed. Neither spoke for a moment. Finally, Alexander broke the silence.
Alexander Knight
How are you feeling?
His voice wasn’t as cold as usual. Yet it wasn’t particularly gentle either. It was simply… calmer. As if he were trying not to scare the child sitting in front of him.
The boy lowered his gaze.
Alexander Knight
You don’t look fine.
The boy nervously gripped the blanket.
Alexander Knight
What is your name?
Alexander Knight
Leo what?
Alexander Knight
How old are you?
Alexander Knight
You were alone last night.
Alexander Knight
Where are your parents?
Leo froze. The smile on his face disappeared.
His fingers slowly tightened around the blanket. Alexander’s gaze darkened.
And for the first time, Alexander felt that something was terribly wrong.
chapter 3
Leo slowly looked at him and answered with a trembling voice
Leo winter
D-d-dead. both are dead
Alexander’s expression remained unchanged. But his eyes darkened slightly.
Alexander Knight
How long ago?
Alexander Knight
And your relatives?
Leo winter
I don’t have any.
Alexander Knight
Then who were you living with?
Leo’s shoulders trembled slightly.
Leo winter
She didn’t want me anymore.
Alexander Knight
What do you mean?
The words were spoken so casually that they felt unreal. As if being abandoned was something normal.As if he had already accepted it.
Alexander felt anger. Not toward the boy. Toward the people who had left him. A ten-year-old child shouldn’t be sitting alone in a hospital with nobody waiting for him. Yet here he was.
Leo flinched slightly at the sharpness in Alexander’s voice.
Alexander Knight
And no one came back for you?
Alexander stared at him. A ten-year-old child. Alone for a week. Ridiculous.

Did you eat?
Alexander Knight
Sometimes?
Leo awkwardly looked away.
They they heard a knock . Doctor entered the room.
Alexander turned toward him
Doctor
We need to discuss the child’s situation.
Alexander glanced at Leo one last time before following the doctor outside.
Doctor
There’s no legal guardian listed for him.
Alexander’s brows furrowed.
Alexander Knight
What happens now?
Doctor
“Sigh” If no family can be found, social services will take over.
Alexander said nothing. For some reason, the idea bothered him more than it should have. He looked through the small glass window in the door. Leo sat alone on the hospital bed.
Alexander looked away. he couldn’t bring himself to walk away.
