Childhood Sweetheart

Chapter 1: The Two Great Clans

There was a rich territory known as Elysian Heights, a place where only the wealthiest and most influential families in the country lived. It was not a place that ordinary businessmen could enter just by making money. To gain residence in Elysian Heights, one needed generations of wealth, power, influence, and connections that reached the highest levels of society.

The roads of the territory were lined with tall trees and expensive gardens. Luxury cars passed through the wide streets while security guards watched every entrance. Every mansion stood proudly behind large iron gates, each one representing the prestige of the family that lived within.

At the very center of Elysian Heights stood two magnificent mansions that attracted everyone's attention.

The first mansion belonged to the Bennet Family. It was built with white marble walls and towering pillars. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting golden light across the grand halls. Beautiful fountains decorated the front courtyard while rare flowers bloomed in the vast gardens. Inside, there were elegant ballrooms, private libraries filled with ancient books, and meeting rooms where important decisions were made.

Directly across from it stood the mansion of the Hayes Family. The mansion was equally impressive with black stone architecture, tall glass windows, and luxurious interiors. A large lake stretched behind the estate, reflecting the lights of the mansion at night. The property included private sports facilities, a helipad, and guest houses for visiting dignitaries and business partners.

Many influential clans lived within Elysian Heights. These families had supported the country's economy for generations. Their businesses controlled finance, real estate, technology, manufacturing, and even media companies. They maintained close relationships with government officials and politicians, making them some of the most powerful people in the nation.

Among all the clans, two families stood above the rest—the Bennet Family and the Hayes Family.

For decades, these two families competed for dominance. Their wealth was so immense that people often joked they could rival half of the country's economy.

However, times had begun to change.

As the younger generation of the Hayes Family inherited power, greed slowly started spreading among them. Family members fought over authority and profits. Internal conflicts weakened their influence, and many poor decisions caused their businesses to lose opportunities.

Because of this, the Hayes Family slowly fell from the top position.

Meanwhile, the Bennet Family continued to grow stronger. Their younger generation entered different industries, expanding their influence into technology, healthcare, international trade, and finance and army. Their success brought even more prestige to the family name.

Soon, the Bennet Family became recognized as the number one clan in the country.

Yet despite their success, no one knew that the next generation of both families would become connected by a story that would change everything—a story that began with two children who were never supposed to fall in love.

Their fate had already been intertwined long before they understood the meaning of friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, and love making their bond strong.

Chapter 2: The Bennet Family

The Bennet Family was not merely a family; it was a powerful clan spread across the world. Its members lived in different countries, controlling businesses, industries, political connections, military contracts, and financial institutions. Though separated by distance, they worked together under one name—the Bennet name.

At the head of the family stood Augustus Bennet, 78 years old, a man whose presence alone commanded respect. Known as the "Patriarch of Wealth," he had spent five decades building the Bennet Empire into the most influential clan in the country. Beside him was his wife, Eleanor Bennet, 75 years old, a graceful yet wise woman who managed family affairs with unmatched authority.

The couple had three sons.

The eldest was Victor Bennet, 52 years old. A dominant and ambitious man, Victor controlled the family's international finance sector and chaired the Bennet Global Holdings Group. His wife was Catherine Bennet, 49 years old, a former diplomat known for her elegance and political connections.

They had two sons.

The eldest grandson was Damien Bennet, 28 years old, a ruthless businessman who managed the family's investment corporations. His younger brother, Leon Bennet, 25 years old, served as a decorated officer in the military and was widely respected for his leadership abilities.

The second son of Augustus was Sebastian Bennet, 49 years old. Known for his intelligence and strategic thinking, he was the mastermind behind the family's technology and research empire. His wife, Vivian Bennet, 46 years old, was a renowned scientist and entrepreneur.

They had one son, Elias Bennet, 24 years old. Unlike his cousins, Elias possessed a gentle personality. He worked as a pediatric doctor and was loved by everyone for his kindness and compassion.

The youngest son was Alexander Bennet, 45 years old, a cold and calculating man feared in both business and politics. He controlled the family's political alliances, security agencies, and international negotiations. His wife, Seraphina Bennet, 42 years old, was famous for her beauty and cunning intelligence. Many believed she could manipulate any situation to her advantage.

Together they had two children.

Their eldest child was Cassian Bennet, 22 years old. Calm and composed on the outside, he possessed a dangerous unpredictability beneath the surface. He was being groomed to inherit the family's vast industrial empire, overseeing manufacturing, shipping, and energy sectors.

The youngest child and the only girl of her generation was Elara Bennet, just six years old.

After years of hoping for a daughter, Alexander and Seraphina were finally blessed with Elara. Because of the large age gap between her and her brother, she became the treasured princess of the entire Bennet Clan.

However, what made Elara special was not her status.

Despite being only six years old, she possessed a level of wisdom and understanding that shocked even the surrounding adults. While children her age spent their days playing with toys, Elara could sit through family discussions and ask questions that left powerful businessmen speechless.

Augustus often joked that she had been born with the mind of an old scholar.

She observed more than she spoke, listened more than she questioned, and remembered every detail she heard. Family members quickly learned not to underestimate the little girl with bright eyes and endless curiosity.

Many believed that one day she would become one of the greatest assets of the Bennet Family.

Others believed something even more frightening.

That the youngest member of the clan might one day surpass them all.

Chapter 3:The Hayes Family

If the Bennet Family stood at the peak of power, then the Hayes Family stood directly beneath them.

Once, they had been equals.

Now, they were second.

At the head of the Hayes Clan sat Magnus Hayes, 76 years old. He was a cunning and greedy man whose ambition knew no limits. Many believed that if there was profit to be gained, Magnus would pursue it regardless of the consequences. Under his leadership, the Hayes Family had expanded into banking, mining, real estate, and international trade. Yet his greed had also planted the seeds of division within the clan.

His late wife was Lillian Hayes, who had passed away in her early fifties. Gentle, kind-hearted, and compassionate, she had been the only person capable of bringing warmth into the cold Hayes Mansion. Being born outside the elite circles, she was never fully accepted by the clan. Years of internal conflicts and pressure eventually destroyed her health, leading to her untimely death.

Magnus and Lillian had four children.

The eldest was Vanessa Hayes, 48 years old. Proud, arrogant, and obsessed with status, she viewed everyone around her as either useful or insignificant.

Her husband was Adrian Cross, 50 years old, a famous actor and media personality. Although successful in his own right, he spent most of his time with the Hayes Family, relying on their influence to maintain his fame and social standing.

Together they had one son.

Evan Cross-Hayes, 20 years old, was a quiet young man who inherited much of his grandmother's kindness. Unfortunately, years of emotional neglect and constant comparison left him deeply insecure. Rarely involved in family affairs, he was almost invisible within the clan.

The second child was Nathaniel Hayes, 46 years old. Rational and calculating, he excelled at analyzing situations. Unfortunately, his greed often clouded his judgment, making him too similar to his father. Failed investments and poor alliances gradually weakened his influence within the family.

His wife was Sophia Cross Hayes, 43 years old, a former actress and the younger sister of Adrian Cross. The siblings had carefully entered the Hayes Family together, seeking wealth and power through marriage.

They had one daughter.

Clara Hayes, 19 years old, rejected her mother's schemes and manipulations. Tired of the endless power struggles, she moved away from the family estate and pursued a peaceful life as an environmental researcher.

The third child was Grace Hayes, 42 years old. Gentle, kind, and trusting, she resembled her late mother more than anyone else in the family. Having spent most of her youth studying abroad under Lillian's care, she remained innocent to the darker side of the clan.

Her husband was Damian Reed, 45 years old, a narcissistic entrepreneur who quickly took advantage of Grace's trusting nature. Through his marriage, he gained easy access to the Hayes Family's influence and resources.

The couple had no children. Grace's fragile health prevented her from conceiving, a fact that brought her great sadness throughout her marriage.

The youngest child was Vincent Hayes, 40 years old.

Unlike his older siblings, Vincent was adaptable and clever. He knew when to advance and when to retreat, making him one of the most dangerous members of the family. While greed motivated him, patience guided his actions. He controlled much of the family's banking and international finance operations.

His wife was Valerie Hayes, 38 years old. Strong, ambitious, and empowering, she had built her own reputation in corporate law before joining the Hayes Family. Her personality often clashed with Vincent's, creating constant tension within their marriage.

Together they had one son.

Lucian Hayes, 10 years old.

Unlike the noisy and ambitious members of his family, Lucian rarely spoke. Years of witnessing his parents' arguments and being ignored by those around him had turned him silent and distant.

Most people mistook his quietness for weakness.

They were wrong.

Behind his calm eyes hid intelligence that surpassed every member of the Hayes Clan. He understood their schemes, recognized their greed, and could predict their actions before they made them. If he wished, he possessed enough knowledge to expose every secret and drag the entire family into ruin.

Yet Lucian never acted.

Instead, he watched.

Like a silent observer sitting in the shadows, he patiently witnessed just how far his family was willing to descend.

Ironically, while the Hayes Clan often forgot his existence, the Bennet Family remembered him well.

The two families frequently crossed paths through politics, finance, international business, and government projects. Their relationship was complicated—partnership, competition, and rivalry all at once.

And among all those connections, no one expected that the lonely boy named Lucian Hayes and the treasured little princess of the Bennet Family, Elara Bennet, would one day become the center of a story neither family could control.
