The Village Can't Handle My Wife (She's Causing Trouble Again)
EPISODE 1
The sharp voice rang across Willow Creek Village, startling a flock of chickens into scattering in every direction. What had started as an ordinary afternoon quickly turned into a spectacle as villagers abandoned their work and gathered along the roadside.
Some stood on tiptoe to get a better view while others shamelessly dragged stools out of their homes. Entertainment was rare in a small village, and everyone knew that wherever Kang Na-ri appeared, peace would not last long.

"Na-ri, listen to me first!"
Kang Nari
"Listen to what? The excuses you've been preparing since sunrise?"
A loud smack echoed through the street.
The young man stumbled backward, nearly tripping over his own feet as he clutched his cheek in shock. His eyes widened as if he couldn't believe what had just happened.
Na-ri rolled her sleeves higher and took a threatening step forward.
Kang Nari
"You grabbed my wrist."

"I was trying to stop you!"
Kang Nari
"Then use your mouth! Since when do conversations require grabbing people?"
A few villagers immediately looked away, pretending not to hear anything. Others nodded secretly.
She had a point.
Unfortunately, nobody was brave enough to say it out loud.
The young man, however, had already embarrassed himself beyond recovery. His gaze remained fixed on Na-ri's face, and it wasn't difficult to understand why. Even after living in the village for years, many people still thought Kang Na-ri looked more like a noble lady than a farmer's wife.
Her skin was fair and smooth despite the harsh village life. Her lips carried a natural rosy color, and whenever she smiled, faint dimples appeared on her cheeks. The tiny mole beneath the center of her lower lip only made her beauty more memorable.
Sadly, her temper completely ruined the delicate image.

"What kind of woman behaves like this?" the young man shouted.
Kang Nari
Na-ri laughed.
"What kind of man gets beaten by a woman and still has time to complain?"
The crowd immediately burst into muffled laughter. The young man's face turned bright red.

"Really? Is that before or after I hit you again?"

The young man instinctively stepped back.
He stepped back again.
She stepped forward again.
The villagers watched the scene with great interest.
It looked less like an argument and more like a chicken being chased by a fox.
Just as Na-ri was considering whether she should teach him another lesson, a familiar figure appeared at the far end of the road.
The crowd noticed him immediately.
Tall.
Broad shoulders.
Simple patched clothing.
A bundle of freshly cut firewood strapped to his back.
Kim Do-hyun.
Several villagers secretly sighed in relief.
Finally.
Someone had arrived to stop this disaster.
Do-hyun walked toward the gathering crowd, his expression calm as always. He wasn't particularly handsome in the polished way wealthy young masters were described in stories, but there was something naturally attractive about him.
Years of hard labor had built a strong frame, and his sharp features carried a quiet steadiness that made people trust him. Unfortunately, that trustworthy image suffered greatly whenever his wife became involved.
His gaze moved from the frightened young man to Na-ri.
Then he sighed.
A long sigh.
The sigh of a man who had experienced this situation far too many times.
The moment she heard his voice, the fierce woman who looked ready to start a second round immediately turned around.
The contrast was so ridiculous that several villagers nearly choked.
Na-ri hurried over and pointed at the young man before he could even ask what happened.
Kang Nari
"He grabbed my wrist."
The young man thought the matter was over the moment Kim Do-hyun arrived.
Unfortunately for him, he had underestimated Kang Na-ri.
Kim Dohyun
"Did you touch my wife?"
The simple question left him speechless. The confidence he had displayed moments earlier vanished completely. Surrounded by dozens of villagers, he suddenly found himself unable to meet Do-hyun's eyes.

Na-ri immediately scoffed.
"Talk?"

She stepped forward before anyone could stop her.

Before anyone realized what she intended to do, she lifted her foot and delivered one final kick directly to his shin.

The young man yelped and hopped backward on one leg.
The villagers gasped.
An old woman nearly dropped her basket.
Na-ri folded her arms.
Kang Nari
"That's for making me waste my afternoon."
The young man immediately shut his mouth.
Kim Do-hyun pinched the bridge of his nose.
Not because he disagreed with her.
Mostly because she had chosen to do it in front of half the village.
Again.
The crowd watched with expressions ranging from amusement to disbelief. At this point, nobody could understand how the quiet and honest Kim Do-hyun ended up married to someone like Kang Na-ri.
The two of them were as different as fire and water. One preferred silence. The other could start an argument with a tree if it annoyed her enough.
Kim Dohyun
"Let's go home."
Do-hyun's calm voice cut through the commotion.
Na-ri clicked her tongue but finally nodded.
As they turned to leave, she glanced over her shoulder one last time.
Kang Nari
"If I catch you following me again, I'll break the other leg too."
The young man nearly cried.
The villagers watched the couple disappear down the dirt road. The moment they were out of earshot, the gossip exploded.
The villagers exchanged glances.
Something had definitely changed recently.
Not only had Kang Na-ri become strange after falling into the river three months ago, but Kim Do-hyun had changed too.
Slowly.
Subtly.
As if he had started seeing the world differently.
And perhaps the biggest difference was this:
Before, Kim Do-hyun cared about what everyone thought.
Now, he still cared.
Just not more than he cared about his wife.
None of them knew it yet, but the peaceful days of Willow Creek Village were officially over. Because three months ago, the real Kang Na-ri had died in that river.
And when she opened her eyes again...
A completely different soul was staring back at the world.
