Chapter 1
The heavy hum of rush-hour traffic dominates the night as I sat at the crowded bus stop, enveloped in a wall of noise as loud as a vehicle's horn.
As soon as the bus arrived, commuters got on, me included.
I marched towards the crowd picking the last seat in the bus.

On the bus ride, I started to feel sleepy. I can't blame my body for all the hard work I did today. I yawned then leaned my head on the window, looking at the places we passed to distract myself from sleeping.
Despite fighting the overwhelming wave of sleepiness with every distraction I could think of, I finally surrendered to it halfway through the ride. With my eyes closed, a heavyweight presses down on my body, yet my skin crackles with a sudden spark as a buzzing rings through my head, like an unknown force is pulling me in.
If I may describe the feeling of this weird sensation I felt after being sucked in, it's like I'm constantly floating in a deep dark abyss without reaching the depths.
I gradually opened my eyes to check my surroundings only to find a crowd gathering as if something had happened. Their backs are facing me, looking through a spectacle in the front.
My eyes darted from left to right, mapping out the unfamiliar place I'm in. I slowly realized I'm part of the crowd gathered to watch a commotion. I glanced at every inch of the place and I realized I'm in a palace-like place, with long stairs in front, and an enormous hanging chandelier.
After I processed the place I was in, I looked at the people in front of me, and noticed the way they're dressed.

I looked down and realized I'm also wearing a dress, most of all It's the kind of dress I just described as some European style shi.

As dazed as I am, I snapped back to reality after I heard someone shout.
I quickly tried to find the person who just shouted. I tiptoed to see what was in front, as the loud voice came from there.
Tiptoeing doesn't seem to be working so I tried to squeeze into the murmuring crowd.

After I found a spot where I could see clearly who was talking, I heard those statements being told by a man with a girl looking innocent by his side to his supposedly fiancé his trying to break off from.

In all my years as a reader, these are the things you need to know if you ever get reincarnated.
First is to know the environment, you gotta check if the world you're in is a novel or not. How do you do that? Simple, just proceed to guessing what kind of novel it is by either recognizing a character through a name or some kind of grand situation where you'll eventually know what world you're in base on the scene you'll recognize.
In my case, both don't work since I don't know their full names and the scene is a widely used plot in the novels.
If you have a good memory and can still vividly remember every detail of a person's face then it's also good. If you don't have one but immediately recognize a person's face, then maybe it has some kind of an art adaptation. Though some novels have an art of the characters.
You're lucky if you have all of those and immediately know the title, plot, characters and setting of the world you're in.
As for me, all of this seems to not be working. AT. ALL!
