Best Friend Father My Soulmate

Chapter 1

Rail Mencher – Chapter 1

Rail Mencher was a lion girl from a poor family. She was hardworking and brilliant in her studies. After years of dedication, she finally received admission to AMC (Alpha Moment College), one of the most prestigious colleges in the country.

"Mom, the result is out!" Rail shouted excitedly.

Tivya Mencher looked up from her work and smiled.

"Really? Let me see!"

Rail checked the result and suddenly screamed with joy.

"Oh my God! I got the scholarship! Mom, I finally got a scholarship to AMC College!"

Her eyes sparkled with happiness.

Now I can study at the college where only rich and successful people go. One day, I'll work in a big company and change our lives forever, she thought.

Tivya hugged her daughter tightly.

"My darling, this calls for a celebration. I'll bring some sweets."

Rail lived with her mother in a small house. Her father worked in Dubai, but years ago he had married someone else and started a new family. He only sent a small amount of money for Rail and Tivya's expenses.

That night, Rail lay awake in bed.

Will I be able to fit in? What if everyone judges me because I'm poor?

She shook her head.

No, Rail. Stop thinking like that. Everything will be fine.

The First Day

The next morning, Rail woke up early.

It was her first day at AMC College.

"Good morning, beta," Tivya said. "Ready for your new journey?"

"Good morning, Mom. I'm a little nervous."

"There's nothing to be nervous about. You earned this scholarship through your hard work. You are not less than anyone."

With her mother's words in mind, Rail left for college.

The moment she entered AMC, she was amazed.

The campus was huge and beautiful. Luxury cars filled the parking lot, and students walked around in expensive clothes and designer accessories.

This place is even bigger than I imagined, Rail thought.

She entered her classroom and sat in an empty seat.

A girl walked over and smiled.

"Hi. I'm Zara Kingsley."

"H-Hi. I'm Rail Mencher."

Zara glanced at Rail's simple clothes.

"Scholarship student?"

"Yes."

"Interesting."

Before Rail could understand what she meant, class began.

The professor entered and addressed the students.

"Welcome to AMC. Here, talent matters more than money."

For the first time that morning, Rail smiled.

Maybe everything would be okay after all.

An Unexpected Friendship

During lunch break, Zara approached her again.

"Hey Rail, let's go to the café."

"No, it's okay. I brought food from home."

"I know. But today is my treat."

Rail hesitated.

"I won't be able to pay you back."

Zara laughed.

"I'm inviting you, not giving you a loan."

For the first time, Rail laughed too.

From that day onward, the two girls slowly became close friends.

The Competition

A few weeks later, the principal made an important announcement.

"Students, tomorrow AMC's Annual Talent Selection Competition will take place. The winner will receive a special internship opportunity and a scholarship worth ₹5 lakh."

Rail's heart raced.

This was her chance.

She studied harder than ever before.

Day and night, she worked toward her goal.

Soon, most of her time in college was spent with Zara, who constantly encouraged her.

Finally, competition day arrived.

Rail gave everything she had.

And when the results were announced...

She won.

The auditorium erupted into applause.

Rail couldn't believe it.

She had done it.

The Celebration

Zara immediately ran toward her.

"Congratulations, Rail! Let's celebrate your victory!"

Rail smiled awkwardly.

"I don't really have money for a celebration."

Zara rolled her eyes.

"Don't panic, little girl. The bill is on me. It's your victory. You don't need to worry about anything."

"But where are we going?"

"No more questions. Just come with me."

The Makeover

Zara took Rail to an expensive shopping mall.

She handed Rail over to a group of professional stylists.

"Take care of her."

Three hours later, Rail stepped out.

She looked completely different.

Elegant.

Confident.

Beautiful.

For a moment, even Zara forgot to blink.

"Wow..."

Rail blushed.

The Club Night

That evening, Zara took her to a luxury club to celebrate.

Everything there was new for Rail.

The music.

The lights.

The atmosphere.

As she entered, many people turned to look at her.

Her natural beauty and confidence caught everyone's attention.

But not everyone was happy.

Emily watched from across the room.

The attention Rail was receiving filled her with jealousy.

Determined to ruin the night, she secretly arranged for a drink to be sent to Rail.

A waiter approached.

"Apple juice, ma'am."

Rail accepted it without suspicion.

A little later, she began to feel dizzy.

Her head started spinning.

"Rail? Are you okay?" Zara asked.

"My head hurts..."

Zara immediately realized that something was wrong.

She escorted Rail to a private room owned by the club and helped her lie down.

Then she went to check the CCTV footage to find out who had tampered with the drink.

She also informed her mother that she would stay with Rail for the night.

The Wrong Room

Rail in the room: Why is my head paining...

Unknown to Rail, Archer Kingsley was somewhere in the club.

Archer Kingsley had come to the club for some important meetings. After finishing his work, he decided to stay in one of his private rooms inside the club.

Meanwhile, Rail slowly got up from the room where Zara had left her. Feeling dizzy and confused, she accidentally walked into another room.

The room belonged to Archer Kingsley.

Archer had just come out of the shower when he noticed someone standing inside his room.

Archer: Who are you?

Rail looked at him with unfocused eyes.

Rail: Nobody loves me... right? Is it because I'm poor?

Archer frowned in confusion.

Archer: What the hell are you talking about? Who are you?

Rail: Everyone only cares about money...

Archer: Listen, you are in my room. Who are you and how did you get in here?

Rail looked at him for a few seconds before speaking again.

Rail: If I was rich, maybe everyone would like me...

Archer had no idea what was happening, but it was obvious that something was wrong with the girl standing in front of him.

Chapter 2 – The Unexpected Ride

Rail: If I were rich, maybe everyone would like me...

Archer had no idea what was happening, but it was obvious that something was wrong with the girl standing in front of him.

Archer: You little butterfly, don't be so talkative. Just get out of my room.

Rail: You shut up!

Rail stepped closer to Archer and grabbed the front of his shirt.

Archer: You're going to regret your actions, little butterfly.

Rail: My actions always come with the right results.

Just then, Archer heard a voice outside.

Zara: Rail! Rail! Where are you?

The door suddenly opened.

Zara: Rail! What are you doing in someone's room? Are you okay, sweetheart? Let's go back to my house.

Archer: Oh... so it's you.

A small smile appeared on his face.

At that moment, Archer's phone rang.

Archer: Yes, I'll be there soon.

Meanwhile, Zara was trying to help Rail.

Zara: Rail, stop! What are you doing?

Suddenly, Rail started vomiting.

Zara: Are you okay? I know it's your first time. I swear this won't happen again. Come on, sweetheart.

Zara and Rail left the club and headed toward the Kingsley Mansion.

When they arrived, Rail had completely passed out.

Zara: Oh my God! Guard, help me carry her to the guest room.

The guard nodded and helped Zara.

The Next Morning

Zara: Are you okay, sweetheart?

Rail slowly opened her eyes.

Rail: What happened to me? Why does my head hurt so much?

Zara: Emily gave you that drink.

Rail: What? I drank alcohol? How did that happen?

Zara: Calm down, Rail.

Suddenly, Rail sat up.

Rail: Mom! I didn't inform her. She must be worried!

Zara: Relax. I already informed your mother.

Rail smiled with relief.

Rail: Thank you so much, Zara.

Zara: No problem.

Rail: I think I should go home now.

Zara: Stay a little longer.

Rail: No, I think Mom needs me.

Zara sighed.

Zara: Fine. I'll ask the driver to drop you home.

Rail: No. If people see me getting out of a luxury car, they'll start talking.

Zara: Fine. He'll drop you halfway. No more arguments.

Rail smiled.

Rail: Fine.

Zara: And call me babe.

Rail laughed.

Rail: Okay.

On the Way Home

Rail sat quietly in the car.

How did I even drink that? What if Mom finds out? She'll either scold me or panic.

And why did Emily do this to me?

Driver: Ma'am, we've reached.

Rail stepped out of the car, still lost in her thoughts.

A car behind her kept honking continuously, but she didn't hear it.

Honk! Honk! Honk!

Rail remained standing in the middle of the road, completely distracted.

The car slowly moved forward and lightly bumped into her.

Rail: Ouch! Are you crazy?

The driver immediately stepped out.

Driver: Ma'am, I've been honking for so long, but you weren't listening.

Rail: Yeah, but that doesn't mean you can hit me with your car!

Just then, a deep voice interrupted them.

Archer: What is going on here?

Driver: Sir, don't worry. I'll handle it.

Archer: It's okay. Let me see.

Rail turned around.

Rail: Who are you?

Archer: I'm Archer.

Archer looked at her for a moment.

Archer: Get in. I'll drop you.

Rail: No thanks. I'll go on my own.

Archer: Do what I say.

Rail: No. You're not my boss.

One of Archer's eyebrows lifted.

Archer: Get in the car.

There was something in his voice that made Rail nervous.

Rail: Fine.

Inside the Car

Rail avoided looking at Archer.

Meanwhile, Archer kept glancing at her.

She doesn't remember me, he thought.

Maybe it was because of the alcohol.

Archer: Where do you live?

Rail: W-What?

Archer: Where do you live?

Rail: Um... take a left, then a right.

Archer nodded.

Archer: Go there.

Driver: Yes, sir.

After a few moments of silence, Archer spoke again.

Archer: Name?

Rail: Rail Mencher.

Archer: College student?

Rail: Yes.

Soon, they arrived at her neighborhood.

Driver: Sir, we've reached.

Archer looked at Rail.

Archer: Go. Your destination has arrived.

Rail quickly stepped out of the car.

Back Home

Rail: Mom, I'm home!

Tivya: Welcome home, Rail. How was your night stay with Zara?

Rail froze for a second.

Tivya: Rail? Tell me.

Rail forced a smile.

Rail: It was nice, Mom. We had a lot of fun.

Later that night, Rail sat alone in her room.

Who was he?

And why is he so handsome? How can someone be that attractive?

I think I have a huge crush on him... but he's way too rich.

Rail shook her head.

Stop thinking about him. Focus on your goals.

A few seconds later, she sighed.

But he's really hot...

After studying for a while, Rail finally fell asleep.

Little did she know that this was only the beginning of her story with Archer Kingsley.

Now let's see what happens between Archer and Rail...

chapter 3 - A NEW DAY

Chapter 3 – A New Day

After studying for a while, Rail finally fell asleep.

Little did she know that this was only the beginning of her story with Archer Kingsley.

The Next Morning

Tivya: Rail, wake up! It's time for college. You'll be late. Hurry up!

Rail: Yes, Mom. I'm coming!

Rail walked into the living room.

Rail: Mom, who are you talking to?

Tivya smiled.

Tivya: It's your Nani from India.

Rail's face lit up.

Rail: Oh! Nani! Hello, Nani. How are you?

Nani: I'm fine, beta. How are you?

Tivya: She's asking how you are.

Rail laughed.

Rail: I'm doing great, Nani.

Nani: And how is everything in Canada?

Tivya translated again.

Tivya: She's asking how things are in Canada.

Rail: Everything is good, Nani.

Tivya: That's good, Maa.

Rail: Bye, Nani. I'll talk to you later.

Nani: Bye, beta. Take care.

After Some Time

Rail reached the bus stop and looked around.

Rail: What the hell? There's no bus for college today!

Just then, she heard a familiar voice.

Zara: Hi, Rail!

Rail turned around and smiled.

Rail: Zara!

Zara: Come on, let's go to college together.

Rail sighed with relief.

Rail: Oh, thank God you're here. Otherwise, I would've been late for college.

Zara smiled proudly.

Zara: Don't worry, sweetheart. I'm your savior.

Rail laughed.

Rail: Yes, you are.

A few minutes later, they arrived at AMC College.

As they walked through the campus, a boy waved at Zara.

Sam: Hey, Zara!

Zara: Hey, Sam. What's up?

Sam: Nothing much. Who's she?

Zara smiled.

Zara: Oh, she's the new student—Rail Mencher.

Rail smiled politely.

Rail: Hello.

Sam looked at Rail for a moment.

Sam: Wow... you're really beautiful.

Rail smiled shyly.

Rail: Thank you.

Zara stepped between them with a teasing smile.

Zara: Excuse me! Don't get any ideas. She isn't interested in you.

Sam chuckled.

Sam: Really? Is that true, Rail?

Rail simply smiled without answering.

The three of them laughed as they walked toward their classroom.

In the Classroom

The professor was teaching Business Management.

Rail was completely lost in her own thoughts.

How can someone be so handsome? I really like that guy. I hope I get to meet him again. Everything about him was so attractive...

Professor: Rail Mencher!

The professor shouted her name.

Rail: Y-Yes, sir!

Professor: Where were you? Traveling in your thoughts?

Rail: No... nowhere, sir.

Professor: Then tell me, what am I teaching?

Zara whispered softly,

Zara: Principles...

Rail: Principles...

Professor looked at Zara.

Professor: Zara!

Everyone in the college knew that Zara was Archer Kingsley's daughter. Because of her father's influence and power, everyone respected—and even feared—her.

Professor: Nothing.

He turned back to Rail.

Professor: Rail, go outside the classroom.

Zara: Sir, it's her first time. Please let her off with a warning.

Professor thought for a moment.

Professor: Hmm... I'm letting you go this time, Rail. But this is the first and last warning.

Rail: Yes, sir. I'm sorry.

The professor continued with the lecture.

Zara leaned toward Rail.

Zara: Where were you lost, sweetheart?

Rail smiled awkwardly.

Rail: Nowhere.

I can't tell Zara the truth. What will she think of me? Rail thought.

Four Months Later

College was over.

Zara: Rail, come with me. I'll drop you home.

Rail: No, Zara. You go ahead. I'll manage.

Deep inside, Rail was hoping to see Archer again.

But the days passed...

One week became one month.

One month became four months.

Rail never saw Archer Kingsley again.

While sitting on the bus on her way to college one morning, she looked out of the window.

Maybe that meeting was the last time I'll ever see him.

Summer Break Announcement

Inside the classroom, the professor made an announcement.

Professor: Students, your summer break begins next week. The college is organizing a trip to New York. Those who are interested can give me their names after class.

Zara jumped excitedly.

Zara: Yesss! Rail, let's go! We're going to have so much fun there!

Rail lowered her head.

Rail: Zara... I can't.

Zara: Sweetheart, don't worry about the money. My father earns more than enough.

Rail: Still, Zara... it doesn't feel right to keep taking your money.

Zara smiled warmly.

Zara: Ms. Rail, you're like my little sister. And big sisters always help their little sisters.

Rail smiled.

Rail: Thank you.

Zara: Now come on! We need to go shopping. The trip is almost here, and I need new clothes.

Rail laughed.

After College

Sam: Zara, where are you going?

Zara: Shut up, Sam, and come with us.

Sam laughed.

Sam: Fine.

As they walked through the mall, Rail stopped in front of a clothing store.

Rail: Zara, look! Those clothes are so beautiful.

Zara: You're right. Let's go inside.

After shopping, Zara dropped Rail a little distance away from her house, just like always.

At Home

Rail entered the house.

Rail: Oh... Aunty, you're here.

It was their neighbor, Suman.

Suman smiled sarcastically.

Suman: Oh, look who's here. Our princess has arrived! You're becoming such a big girl—coming home in expensive cars and wearing expensive clothes.

Rail lowered her head and stayed silent.

Tivya: Leave it, Suman. She's just enjoying college life. Besides, she's with her friend Zara. She's a good girl.

Suman: Hmm... I hope so.

Rail quietly went to her room.

That's exactly why I told Zara not to drop me near the house.

Dinner Time

Rail: Mom... our college is organizing a trip to New York. Can I go too?

Tivya: How much does it cost?

Rail: Zara already paid for me.

Tivya looked at her seriously.

Tivya: Rail, this isn't right. You can't keep using Zara's money all the time.

Rail: I refused, Mom... but she insisted.

Tivya sighed.

Tivya: Fine. But don't make it a habit.

Rail smiled.

Rail: I won't, Mom.

Tivya: When is the trip?

Rail: In two days.

Tivya: Alright. Be careful.

After dinner, Rail went back to her room.

Within a few minutes, she fell asleep, completely unaware that the upcoming trip to New York was about to change her life once again.
