Chapter 1

Haneul High School was known for two things : excellent academics and its fierce basketball culture. Every year, students looked forward to one rivalry more than anything else: the battle between the Black Hawks and the Red Wolves. The two teams belonged to the same school, but they never got along. They trained separately, had different locker rooms, and treated every practice match like the finals.

Ironically, the captains of those two teams had once been best friends.

Back then, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook were inseparable.

Every summer holiday, the two of them spent hours at the neighborhood basketball court. What started as a simple one-on-one game always turned into a competition. Neither of them knew how to lose gracefully.

One afternoon, Jungkook stumbled through the front door with a split lip, a bruised cheek, and dirt all over his clothes.

His mother looked up from the Kitchen and froze.

What's wrong with your face? *concerned*

Grumbling under their breath, they finally opened the first-aid box.

Jungkook rolled his eyes before pressing a bandage onto the scratch on Taehyung's forehead.

Hold still, dumbass.

I'm perfectly still.

Even while patching each other up, they never stopped arguing.

Their mothers simply exchanged a knowing look and shook their heads.

They'll fight all afternoon *sighed*

And tomorrow morning they'll be back on the basketball court together like nothing ever happened *laughed*

Neither of them knew those carefree days would disappear once the boys entered Haneul High School.

Placed on different basketball teams, the two childhood friends slowly became rivals. The playful arguments turned into real hostility, and the court that once brought them together became the very reason they drifted apart.

Episode 2

The school's indoor basketball court buzzed with excitement.

Students filled every seat in the bleachers, chanting as the two teams prepared to enter.

The doors on opposite sides of the court swung open at the same time.

The Black Hawks entered first, dressed in black jerseys, led by their captain, Kim Taehyung. Confident smiles spread across their faces as the crowd erupted.

From the other side came the Red Wolves in crimson uniforms. At the front walked Jeon Jungkook, bouncing the basketball once before tucking it under his arm. The cheers only grew louder.

The basketball court echoed with cheers of students in the bleachers. Some shouted Black Hawks with a rhythm and some shouted Red Wolves. Raising the banners of their favorite basketball teams. Amidst of those cheers, some girls cheered for the handsome captains of the rival teams. Seems like they got more indulged in Heated Rivalry—whenever Taehyung and Jungkook give each other a deadly stare, the crowd went wild. They'd like to call themselves fujoshi.

The moment their eyes met across the court, neither of them smiled.

Taehyung was already moving.

He stayed glued to Jungkook like a shadow.

Taehyung kept defending and blocked the shots of Jungkook, throwing him off his game.

Jungkook dribbled the ball and marched forwards while Taehyung was still trying to steal it.

Jungkook dribbled the ball and jumped to shoot right in the hoop. But, Taehyung leaped at the perfect moment, tipped the ball away, and grabbed the rebound.

Jungkook frowned and bit his inner cheeks.

I told you to pass it, Moron *frustrated*

Can you shut up?Think of a Tactic rather blaming!

Namjoon caught the pass from Taehyung and scored a shot.

Jungkook didn't let that bother him, this time he learned that the opponents' strategy is to make his rival block him and reduce the scores.

The sun had set,, and twilight blanketed the narrow alley. Jungkook stood leaning against the wall, his arms folded and a frown etched across his face. It looked like he was waiting for someone.

Taehyung walked into the alley, his school bag hanging loosely from one shoulder.

The only thing impatient here is my fists *scoffed*

Jungkook finally lost his patience and landed a punch straight across Taehyung's jaw. Taehyung's head snapped to the side.

Taehyung caught his wrist and slammed him against the nearest wall.

Jungkook frowned and tried to wrench himself free. In the struggle, the strap of his scent blocker came loose, allowing his pheromones to leak into the air.

Before Jungkook could even realize what had happened, Taehyung suddenly released him and stumbled backward.

But Taehyung was already out of sight.

Their moms came out of the kitchen

Jungkook groaned in frustration before opening the med kit. He unscrewed the antiseptic and gently dabbed it onto Taehyung's split lip.

Taehyung's heartbeat quickened, though he refused to flinch.

Jungkook leaned in to get a better look. As he wiped away the dried blood, his fingers accidentally brushed against Taehyung's lips.

Taehyung swallowed hard. His eyes drifted to Jungkook's slightly parted lips. He could feel the warmth of his breath against his own.

Taehyung immediately pulled Jungkook's hand away—more gently than he intended.
