The first rays of the morning sun stretched across the towering gates of Mooncrest University, painting the ancient black stone in shades of gold. Hidden deep within the mist-covered mountains, the university looked less like a school and more like a forgotten kingdom
Gothic towers pierced the clouds, ivy crawled over centuries-old walls, and gargoyles watched silently from every rooftop as though guarding secrets older than time itself
Legends claimed Mooncrest had stood long before the Great War, surviving battles, curses, and the fall of empires.
It was the only place where every supernatural race, vampires, werewolves, witches, elves, sirens, and countless others, could study under a single rule: leave your hatred outside the gates.
Jeon Jungkook stood at the entrance with one hand gripping the strap of his backpack while the cool autumn breeze brushed against his face. His sharp eyes wandered over the enormous campus as hundreds of students poured through the gates, their laughter filling the air.
To anyone else, it was simply the beginning of a new semester. To him, it was the beginning of a battle.
Being a Trueblood Alpha werewolf came with expectations. His family name carried centuries of honor, forged during the Great War when wolves fought against the vampire empire.
Since childhood, Jungkook had been raised on stories of betrayal, sacrifice, and bloodshed. His grandfather never spoke of the war without bitterness, and his mother always warned him with the same words.
"Trust anyone if you must... but never a vampire."
Jungkook had never questioned those words.
His slightly dimmed golden eyes instinctively searched the crowd. Witches chatted near the fountain, elves admired the gardens, and werewolves greeted each other with familiar nods. Then he noticed them.

Students rushed from building to building, professors welcomed new arrivals, and magical creatures flew lazily across the clear morning sky. It almost felt... peaceful.
Because beneath the laughter and excitement lingered an invisible tension. Wolves kept their distance from vampires.
Vampires ignored the wolves entirely. Even after a thousand years, the wounds left by the Great War had never truly healed.
As they reached the center of campus, a massive stone monument came into view.
A sword and a pair of crimson wings had been carved into black granite.

His gaze lingered on the weathered inscription for only a second before he turned away.

The lively chatter of students faded behind them, replaced by the rhythmic tapping of their footsteps against polished obsidian floors.
Students rushed from building to building, professors welcomed new arrivals, and magical creatures flew lazily across the clear morning sky. It almost felt... peaceful.

The air grew noticeably colder.
Rows of towering stained-glass windows filtered the daylight into crimson and violet hues, painting the stone corridors with ghostly colors. Ancient portraits lined the walls, their gilded frames tarnished by time. Kings, queens, scholars, and warriors watched silently from their canvases, their eyes seeming to follow every student who passed beneath them.
The corridor smelled faintly of old parchment, candle wax, and rain-soaked stone.

Outside, dark clouds rolled across the morning sky without warning, swallowing the sunlight. Shadows stretched unnaturally long across the corridor, and the flickering wall sconces ignited one after another, even though it wasn't evening.
Students slowed their pace.
Some glanced nervously toward the highest tower.
Others lowered their voices to hushed whispers.

"It happens every year..."

"They say the tower only reacts when..."
Before the sentence could be finished, a sharp glance from an older professor silenced them.

No one answered.At the end of the corridor stood a pair of enormous black oak doors reinforced with silver carvings. Above them, weathered letters were etched into a marble arch.

Unlike every other classroom, there were no cheerful conversations outside these doors.
An unsettling, almost sacred silence.
Jungkook reached for the iron handle.
The metal was ice cold.
For a brief second, a strange sensation shot through his body, as if countless unseen eyes had awakened the moment his fingers touched the door.

The heavy doors creaked open on their own.
A breath of freezing air swept through the hallway, carrying the scent of ancient books, withered roses, and something metallic that lingered just beyond recognition.
The classroom beyond was dimly lit despite the hour. Towering bookshelves disappeared into darkness near the vaulted ceiling. Black candles burned with silver flames, and faded tapestries depicting the Great War hung from the walls. At the front stood an empty lectern beside a centuries-old blackboard, while an enormous clock ticked with slow, deliberate precision.
The room felt less like a classroom...
...and more like a place where history itself refused to die.
Without realizing it, every student who entered lowered their voice.
As if they feared waking something that had been asleep for a thousand years.
