The church was filled with white roses.
Soft piano music echoed through the hall.
More than three hundred guests smiled as the beautiful bride walked down the aisle.
Everyone believed it would be the happiest day of Evelyn Carter's life.
At the altar stood Damien Brooks, her childhood fiancé.
Evelyn smiled at him.
He didn't smile back.

The church became silent.
Everyone waited for one word.

The entire church froze.
Richard Carter, Evelyn's father, nearly collapsed.

The morning sun bathed the Carter Mansion in a warm golden glow.
Inside the kitchen, laughter echoed as Evelyn Carter carefully arranged fresh flowers in a crystal vase.

"I know," Evelyn laughed. "But I like helping."

That was who Evelyn was.
No matter how rich her family was, she never treated anyone differently.
She remembered every employee's birthday and greeted each of them by name.

Downstairs, Richard Carter watched his daughter proudly.

Standing beside him, Isabella smiled.

"Emma would be so proud of her."

she saw Isabella was coming from stairs.

I wanted to help decorate the dining table.

Everyone begins eating.

Didn't you two usually have coffee together every Friday?
Evelyn
He's been busy these past few weeks.
A few hours later...(Evelyn's phone finally rings.)

Sorry... I couldn't call you earlier.
Evelyn
Are we still having dinner tonight?
Damien
I don't think I can.
Damien
Something important came up.

That's the third time this month.
Evelyn

He started the engine and drove away.

Evelyn looked at the small photo of her and Damien on her desk.

She smiled softly.She still believed...That nothing could come between them.
