A frightened voice echoed through the ruined streets. "The eastern wall has fallen!" Taehyung tightened his grip on his weapon. His exhausted eyes scanned the approaching horde. Thousands. No. Tens of thousands of zombies were rushing toward the refugee base. Behind him were hundreds of survivors. Children. Elders. Pregnant omegas. People who couldn't fight. People depending on him.

Taehyung smiled bitterly.

"So this is how it ends." He had known this day would come. The supplies were running out. The safe zones were disappearing. Humanity was losing.

"Captain!"

One of the younger survivors grabbed his arm. "We can still escape!" Taehyung shook his head. "No." "If I leave, they'll die."

The young survivor's eyes filled with tears. "But you'll die too!" Taehyung looked at the terrified children hiding behind the walls. For a moment, his heart softened. "If my death can buy them even a few more minutes..." "Then it's worth it."

The zombies crashed into the barricades. Screams filled the air. Blood splattered across broken concrete.

Taehyung stepped forward.

One against thousands.

His body was already covered in injuries. His energy reserves were almost empty. Yet he continued fighting. Hour after hour. Zombie after zombie. Until his weapon shattered. Until his hands trembled. Until he could barely stand.

The sky turned red. The ground shook violently. A gigantic mutated zombie appeared from the horde.

The Zombie King. The monster responsible for destroying countless survivor settlements.

Its eyes locked onto Taehyung. The creature roared. The sound shook the ruins. Taehyung laughed weakly.

"So even you came personally."

The Zombie King charged. Taehyung closed his eyes. He was tired. So very tired.

Suddenly... A warm golden light appeared before him. The world froze. The zombies stopped moving. The wind stopped blowing. Even time itself seemed to stop.

A small white bear emerged from the light. Round ears. Fluffy fur. Bright golden eyes. The bear looked no bigger than a kitten.

"Finally found you."

Taehyung blinked. "A bear?" The little bear huffed. "How rude."

"I am Baby Bear, Guardian of the Eternal Spirit Space." Taehyung stared. Had he finally gone crazy? Baby Bear floated closer. "Kim Taehyung." "You have passed my test." "Test?" "For ten years you survived without losing your humanity." "For ten years you chose others before yourself." "For ten years you protected people despite having nothing." The little bear smiled softly. "And now..." "I choose you as my master." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Zombie King broke through the frozen space. Cracks spread across reality itself. Baby Bear sighed. "Looks like we ran out of time." Taehyung frowned. "What do you mean?" Baby Bear stretched out a paw. "Would you like another chance?" "A chance to live again." "A chance to protect your family." "A chance to build a life instead of surviving one." Taehyung's heart trembled. Family. The word felt distant. He hadn't seen his parents since the apocalypse began. He wondered if they would have survived. If they had been happy. If they had missed him. Slowly, he reached toward the tiny paw. "Yes."

Baby Bear smiled brightly. "Then let's go home, Master." A brilliant light exploded across the battlefield. The Zombie King roared. The world shattered into countless fragments. And Kim Taehyung disappeared.

Unaware that he was about to awaken in another life. Unaware that a poor mountain village named Qingyun Village was waiting for him. Unaware that his fate was about to become intertwined with a certain hunter named Jeon Jungkook. And most importantly... A small mountain village hidden within the Mistveil Mountains.

The villagers were poor.

Most families survived by farming and hunting.

Among them was the Kim family. Their small wooden house stood at the edge of the village. The roof leaked whenever it rained. The walls were old and worn. Behind the house was a single acre of rocky farmland.

Despite working tirelessly every day, the family barely had enough food to eat.

Inside the house, an omega lay unconscious on a wooden bed. His face was pale. His breathing was weak. Kim Taehyung. For seven days, he had been burning with a high fever.

Kim I-An sat beside the bed with red eyes. His hands trembled as he wiped Taehyung's forehead with a damp cloth.

Beside him, Kim Jung-Woo looked helpless. The alpha's face was filled with exhaustion. He had already spent all the family's savings on medicine.

But nothing worked. The village healer had shaken his head.

"The fever is too severe." "Prepare yourselves." Those words shattered the couple's hearts.

That night. The fever suddenly worsened. Taehyung's breathing became weaker and weaker.
