Some people sitting and facing each other
The room fell silent. Everyone's eyes turned toward the glowing pendant resting on the old wooden table. Its light grew brighter with every passing second. One of them finally broke the silence
Nobody spoke after those words. The air suddenly felt heavier, and every pair of eyes remained fixed on the pendant. Its glow continued to spread across the room as if it had been waiting for this very moment.
Another person slowly stood up and looked toward the window.
???
"It has finally begun," he said in a calm voice.
???
"But what if they find her first?" asked nervously.
A faint smile appeared on the mysterious man's face.
???
They've been searching for nineteen years.
He turned back toward the table and whispered,

This is Chaudhary mansion
The loud sound of an alarm echoed through the room.
Sakshi suddenly opened her eyes, breathing heavily.
Her heart was racing as she quickly looked around her room.
sakshi
...It was just a dream.
She placed a hand on her chest and took a deep breath.
Although she couldn't remember the dream clearly, it left an uneasy feeling in her heart.
After sitting quietly for a few seconds, her eyes fell on the clock.
Without wasting another second, she hurried out of bed. And take a shower.
Every morning, before the rest of the Chaudhary family woke up, Sakshi completed the tasks assigned to her. She prepared breakfast, arranged the dining table, watered the flowers in the garden, and made sure everything was neat and organized.
The mansion was huge, and despite having many servants, some responsibilities were always left for her.
As she moved through the quiet house, the only sounds were the soft footsteps of the staff and the faint clinking of utensils from the kitchen. Sakshi worked quickly, carefully placing each dish on the table.
One of the maids glanced at her and said softly.
Camille(maid)
You should rest a little, Sakshi. You always wake up so early.
Sakshi gave a small smile without stopping her work.
sakshi
If I rest, who will finish everything before they wake up?
Camille(maid)
You work too hard.(sighed)
sakshi
(Sakshi only shrugged lightly) I'm used to it.
By the time everything was finished, the delicious smell of breakfast had filled the dining hall.
Finally sitting down with her own plate.
Just as she was about to take her first bite, she glanced at the wall clock.
sakshi
Oh no... I'm going to be late!
Her eyes widened in panic.
She quickly put the plate back on the table, grabbed her college bag, and rushed out of the mansion without eating.
One of the servants called after her.
Camille(maid)
Sakshi, at least eat something!
But she was already at the door.
she shouted back, though she knew later would probably never come.
The cool morning breeze greeted her as she stepped onto the busy streets.
People were opening their shops, children were laughing on their way to school, and the sweet fragrance of fresh flowers filled the air. An elderly couple smiled while walking hand in hand, and a little girl happily waved at a stray puppy.
Sakshi couldn't help but smile.
She always found comfort in these little moments. They reminded her that even on difficult days, the world still held small pieces of happiness.
A fruit seller noticed her expression and called out.
random
"Good morning, beta! You look like you need breakfast."
sakshi
Sakshi smiled politely. "Good morning, uncle. I really do, but I'm already late."
random
He chuckled and held up a banana. "Take this. Eat it on the way."
sakshi
She hesitated for a moment before accepting it. "Thank you."
random
"Don't thank me," he said warmly. "Just don't skip your meals."
Sakshi nodded and continued walking, peeling the banana as she went. The simple kindness made her chest feel lighter.
Soon, she reached her college and disappeared into the crowd of students.
The Chaudhary family gathered around the dining table.
Rajveer calmly folded his newspaper before taking a sip of his coffee.
Kiara scrolled through her phone while excitedly talking about the business party that evening.
Kiara chaudhary
"Mom, do you know how many important people will be there?"
Rajveer chaudhary
"Everyone from the top companies is coming."
Meera chaudhary
Meera looked up from her plate and gave a small nod. "Of course I know. That's why everything must be perfect."
Kiara chaudhary
Kiara leaned forward. "I already chose my outfit. I'm sure everyone will notice me."
Rajveer chaudhary
Rajveer glanced at her briefly. "Just make sure you behave properly."
Kiara chaudhary
Kiara pouted. "Papa, I always behave properly."
Meera gave a faint smile before speaking.
Rajveer chaudhary
"Tell Sakshi to be ready tonight. Many important guests will be there."
Meera nodded without looking up.
Rajveer chaudhary
"Make sure she behaves properly. I don't want any embarrassment."
Kiara chaudhary
Kiara smirked slightly. "She should at least know how to stand quietly in a corner."
Meera set her cup down with a soft clink.
Meera chaudhary
Enough. She will do what she's told.
Rajveer chaudhary
Rajveer folded his newspaper again and added in a firm voice, "This party is important for our reputation and today we are going to have an important person also. No mistakes."
Kiara chaudhary
Kiara nodded eagerly. "Don't worry, Papa. Everything will be perfect."
After returning from college, Sakshi quietly finished the remaining household work.
Her feet ached, and her shoulders felt heavy, but she kept moving. She cleaned the last few dishes, arranged the living room, and checked the guest area one more time.
She had barely entered her room when Meera walked inside carrying a neatly packed box.
Meera chaudhary
"Get ready," she said, placing it on the bed.
Meera chaudhary
"There is a business party tonight. Your father expects discipline and proper manners. Don't make any mistakes."
Meera chaudhary
"otherwise you also know what will happen."
sakshi
Sakshi looked at the box, then at Meera. "Mother, I still have some work to finish__"
Meera chaudhary
Meera cut her off immediately. "The work can wait. This cannot."
She looked at Sakshi from head to toe before adding,
Meera chaudhary
"Wear this dress... and these accessories...and make sure you look good at least everyone don't think that we don't give you enough things."
Sakshi slowly opened the box and stared at the elegant dress inside. It was beautiful, but she knew it was not chosen for her comfort. It was chosen because it suited the image the family wanted to present.
sakshi
She touched the fabric gently and asked in a quiet voice, "Do I really need to wear this?"
Meera chaudhary
Meera's expression remained unreadable. "Yes. You are coming with us."
sakshi
Sakshi lowered her gaze. "I understand."
Without waiting for a reply, Meera walked out of the room.
Sakshi stood still for a moment, staring silently at the box resting on her bed.
sakshi
She let out a soft breath and whispered to herself, "Another night of pretending."
sakshi
Then, after a pause, she added in a tired voice, "Still... I have no choice."
She picked up the dress carefully and sat down on the edge of the bed.
She whispered the words to an empty room.
