Foolish Crush
Episode 1
Nicolas was a young boy in love, a little cringe, but it had its own perks.
Bridgette was someone he had loved since they were in kindergarten. It was like any other love story except that it was one-sided, and he wasn't someone she knew very well.
It wasn't like he wasn't popular, but he was popular in a way that he never felt like he was popular. And that is what led to him being a little psychotic when it came to grabbing people's attention.
He wasn't scared of being judged, and all. A little alcohol down his throat, and he becomes Mr. Knows It All. He was a trickster, a sly fox and he definitely felt evil from time to time.
The only fault that he had was that all his capabilities were easily overshadowed. He was known yet he was easily forgettable. And that was the very thing that kept him away from confessing his feelings to Bridgette, until...
He saw her making out with a handsome senior, and he lost it. It was time to put his evil plans to actions and make Bridgette his. He diverts his gaze from the couple and searches for Bethany.
And his first plan was...Well it was-
Bethany
Bitçh you better be serious.
Nicolas
Look, you like him I like her, we both work together and we get them.
Nicolas
Come on now! Don't be a saint.
Bethany
Listen I know that frenchie is a hottie. But I am not playing dirty.
Nicolas
Nobody is telling you to play dirty. We will play it clean.
Nicolas
We'll make it look like he isn't the right choice-
Bethany
And I end up being the third woman?
Nicolas
No! I will end up being the third man.
Nicolas tries his best to give Bethany those puppy eyes she has always adored. Bethany lets out a sigh because she knows he's not backing down and says yes because she knows very well shît ain't going to work.
Bethany
Fine but don't expect much from me.
Nicolas was cute. Bethany believed it. She saw him for what he is and to her, he looked like a golden retriever. He was good-looking, well-mannered and a little chaotic.
She liked him as a friend, but that didn't change the fact that and right now she wanted to punch him because of his stupid plan but guess that's reserved for later.
If the imagery was possible, Bethany swore cupids would be flying above Nicolas's head. Bridgette was a nice girl, but she wasn't even fond of her a bit. Something about her was weird.
She might have been popular and all but she always carried a vibe that diminished every one else's shine.
For Bethany, Bridgette was barely tolerable.
But Nicolas was crazy in love with her. Even though it wasn't every day that she talked to him, or even looked at him, he was whipped.
He always believed that the reason why Bridgette wasn't hanging out with him like before was because he wasn't popular and didn't fit right in with her new group.
Nicolas
Well, it's the freshers.
Nicolas
And you know... I can be the best looking man there
Bethany made a disgusted expression. Nicolas was one of the prettiest men she had even laid her eyes own. He was gentle looking, like the kind of man you see in Greek paintings, the one that capture the innocence and evil at the same time.
Nicolas
I'd just grab her attention and distract her from her boy-toy.
Nicolas
You then try your luck on him.
Bethany
You know Nicolas; You are smart man, but I think you are being quite unreasonable right now.
Bethany
Whatever you said is not possible.
Bethany
Unless the stars align in your favors.
Bethany knew Nicolas was star eyed. She knew he thinks things will work in his favor, but she wasn't willing to help him out. Not in this.
Nicolas
Fine, I don't think I will ever be able to tell her how I feel about her.
Bethany
Write her a letter.
Nicolas
That's so old school!
Bethany
Then be the new school and get on your knee and propose to her on the night of Fresher's!
Bethany sighs. Nicolas makes a pout and walks away appearing to be angry. She chuckles and follows him.
All while they were hatched and cooking their perfectly imperfect plan, someone was staring intensely towards them, and his gaze hadn't left Nicolas face until he turned around and walked away.
The kind of fever that feels too dizzy was exactly the kind of love Nicolas had for Bridgette. He loved her. He couldn't name a reason, but he had never felt the urge to be close to anyone. But with Bridgette, it was like her eyes shouldn't leave his face for even a second. That madness was making him crazy little by little. He felt obsessed.
The question that remained was still the same...
Bridgette
I feel like I should just not attend the party.
Adrian kept his gaze of Bridgette. His finger traced her chin to her lips to her hair. His moment was gentle, but it held a strange power in it.
Bridgette
I don't want to see that guy.
Bridgette
I don't know... I guess he was named Nicolas.
Bridgette
He's been crushing on me for a while.
Bridgette
He's cute but not my type.
Bridgette
But I do love the way he acts around me.
Bridgette smiles at Adrian as if she knew she had hit a nerve. Adrian's jaw tightens slightly, but he keeps his gaze serene while staring back at Bridgette.
The kind of love they shared was difficult to put a name on.
