THE VILLAINESS HAS A CHEAT MENU

Chapter 1: The Curse and the System

The smell of expensive incense was the first thing that hit her. The second was the splitting headache.

*‘Did I pass out at my desk again?’*

As a senior game developer, pulling 72-hour shifts to patch bugs before a major launch was normal, but this headache felt different. It felt like her soul had been violently shoved into a tight suit.

She opened her eyes, expecting to see her dual monitors and empty energy drink cans. Instead, she was staring up at a massive, velvet-draped canopy bed.

"What the..." Her voice sounded different. Higher. Smugger.

Silently panicking, she scrambled out of the bed, her feet sinking into a plush Persian rug. She stumbled toward a full-length gilded mirror across the room and froze.

Staring back at her was a young woman of breathtaking, almost lethal beauty. Pitch-black hair tumbled down to her waist, contrasting sharply with pale, porcelain skin and piercing, amethyst-purple eyes. She looked like a living omen.

"No way," she whispered, touching her face. "This is... Lady Ereba?"

Memory flooded her brain like a crashing tidal wave. She hadn't just fainted; her heart had stopped. And now, she was trapped inside the body of Ereba von Zenith, the infamous villainess of the fantasy romance novel *The Radiant Crown*, a book she had read to pass the time during her commutes.

In the novel, Ereba’s name was whispered like a jinx. To the kingdom, her name meant "born of darkness." But the original author had noted in a trivia chapter that in an ancient, forgotten language, Ereba actually meant *The Quiet Before Dawn*.

Unfortunately, there was nothing peaceful about her fate. In exactly 365 days, Ereba would be executed by her own fiancé, the Crown Prince, after being framed for poisoning her younger sister.

*Ding!*

A sharp, digital chime rang directly inside her head.

**[System Initialized Successfully.]**

**[Welcome, Creator. Universal Debugging Menu Online.]**

Ereba blinked. A translucent, neon-blue screen floated in front of her face. It looked exactly like the developer testing interface from the game she had been coding before she died.

**[Host Name: Ereba von Zenith]**

**[Current Status: The Hated Villainess]**

**[Reputation Points: -99,000 (Despicable)]**

**[Life Expectancy: 365 Days]**

*‘A developer system?’* Ereba’s panic instantly shifted into analytical focus. As a coder, she knew systems. If there was a menu, there were rules. And if there were rules, she could exploit them.

Before she could investigate further, the heavy oak doors to her bedchamber burst open.

"Ereba! How dare you show your face after what you did to Seraphina yesterday?!"

A middle-aged man in lavish aristocratic robes stormed in, his face flushed with rage. It was Duke Zenith—Ereba's father. Right behind him, clinging to his arm like a fragile doll, was Seraphina.

Seraphina was the golden child of the family. With her blonde curls and wide blue eyes, she looked like an angel. Her parents adored her, spoiled her with endless jewels, and shielded her from the world. Meanwhile, Ereba was always left in the shadows, blamed for every mishap.

"Father, please don't be too harsh on sister," Seraphina whimpered, though a cruel, victorious glint flashed in her eyes when her father wasn't looking. "I'm sure she didn't mean to push me into the rose bushes. My dress is ruined, and my skin is scratched, but... I forgive her."

Ereba narrowed her eyes. In the novel, the original Ereba would have screamed, thrown a tantrum, and made herself look guilty.

But the new Ereba just stared. As she looked at them, the blue system screen shifted, displaying text boxes right over their heads.

**[Character: Duke Zenith. Favorability: -40% (Disgust)]**

**[Character: Seraphina von Zenith. Favorability: -80% (Extreme Jealousy/Hatred)]**

*‘Wow. She really hates me,’* Ereba thought, looking at her sister's massive negative stat. *‘And my own father can't stand me.’*

"Well?!" the Duke roared. "Are you not going to apologize to your sister, you cursed child? Your mother and I are deeply ashamed of your behavior!"

Ereba didn't yell. Instead, she took a slow, elegant breath, keeping her face perfectly calm. The "quiet before dawn" energy took over.

"Apologize for what, Father?" Ereba asked, her voice smooth and chillingly polite. "Yesterday, Seraphina tripped over her own gown while trying to grab my necklace. I didn't touch her. But if Seraphina wants to lie to comfort her own clumsiness, who am I to stop her?"

Seraphina’s jaw dropped. The Duke gasped. The wild, angry Ereba they knew would never speak with this much cold, dignified control.

*Ding!*

Ereba smirked inwardly. *‘Oh, this is going to be fun.’*

But before the Duke could yell again, a panicked maid rushed to the doorway, bowing deeply. "Your Grace! His Highness, the Crown Prince, has just arrived at the palace. He demands to see Lady Ereba immediately!"

The Duke sneered, looking back at Ereba. "He’s here to break off the engagement, no doubt. Follow us to the drawing-room. Don't disgrace this family any further."

As they turned to leave, Seraphina looked over her shoulder, shooting Ereba a smug, malicious grin. *‘You're finished,’* her eyes said.

Left alone for a brief second, Ereba adjusted her dress and looked at the glowing blue screen floating beside her.

**[Main Quest Triggered: The Prince's Visit.]**

**[Objective: Survive the engagement cancellation meeting without losing your head.]**

"A broken engagement?" Ereba whispered, a sharp smile touching her lips as she walked toward the door. "Perfect. Let's go rewrite the script."

Chapter 2: A Seed of Doubt

The grand drawing-room of the Zenith estate was dripping in gold leaf and heavy velvet, a room designed to intimidate. Sitting on the primary velvet sofa was Crown Prince Julian. He was undeniably handsome, with sharp, sculpted features, golden hair, and eyes like cold steel.

As Ereba stepped into the room, she felt the temperature drop.

"Ereba," Julian said, his voice laced with absolute disdain. He didn't even stand up. "Sit. We have matters to conclude."

Ereba didn't flinch. She gracefully glided across the polished marble floor and sat on the opposite sofa. She crossed her legs elegantly, resting her hands on her lap. Her calm demeanor caught Julian off guard; usually, she would be throwing herself at his feet or screaming at the guards.

*‘System, pull up his profile,’* Ereba commanded in her mind.

*Ding!*

**[Character: Crown Prince Julian]**

**[Favorability: -50% (Disgust/Hatred)]**

**[Status: Affected by Minor Illusion Magic / Perception Alteration]**

Ereba’s eyes narrowed slightly. As a game developer, she recognized a status debuff when she saw one. Someone had cast a low-level spell on Julian. It didn't control his mind, but it warped his perception—making everything Ereba did look ugly and monstrous, while making Seraphina look like a flawless angel.

Right on cue, Duke Zenith and Seraphina entered, sitting on the adjacent sofa. Seraphina immediately leaned into her father’s side, casting a pitiful, tearful look at the Prince. Julian’s expression softened ever so slightly when he looked at Seraphina, but when his gaze snapped back to Ereba, the coldness returned.

"I will not waste my breath, Ereba," Julian announced, tossing a heavy, wax-sealed scroll onto the glass table between them. "Your continuous cruelty toward your sister, your embarrassing tantrums, and your wretched attitude have proven you are unfit to be the future Empress. Today, I am officially canceling our engagement."

Duke Zenith nodded in agreement. "Your Highness, the Zenith family fully supports your decision. We are deeply apologetic for Ereba's shameful behavior."

Seraphina lowered her head, hiding the triumphant, wicked smirk spreading across her lips. *‘Finally,’* she thought. *‘The crown will be mine.’*

Ereba looked down at the scroll. In the original book, this was the moment Ereba flipped the table, tried to scratch Seraphina's face, and ended up being dragged out by royal knights—cementing her reputation as a psycho.

Instead, Ereba let out a soft, melodious laugh.

The room froze.

"You find this amusing?" Julian demanded, his brow furrowing.

"A little," Ereba said, leaning forward and picking up the scroll. She unrolled it, skimmed the text with a bored expression, and picked up the quill resting on the table. "I was actually wondering when you'd finally bring these papers, Your Highness. Being tied to someone who can't even see what's right in front of his face was getting rather exhausting."

Without a single second of hesitation, she signed her name in flawless, elegant cursive.

*Scratch. Scratch.*

She slid the paper back across the table.

Julian stared at the signature, utterly bewildered. He had prepared an entire army of arguments to counter her begging, but she had just signed it like she was approving a grocery list.

"You... accept this?" Julian muttered, his pride strangely stung by how easily she let him go.

"Of course. If a man wants to leave, I say let him," Ereba smiled beautifully, standing up. "However, Your Highness, as a parting gift, let me offer you a tiny piece of advice."

Julian rose to his feet, staring at her. "Advice? From you?"

Ereba stepped closer, her violet eyes locking onto his cold blue ones. Up close, her beauty was hypnotic, stripped of the desperate rage she usually carried.

"Keep a close eye on the people you allow into your inner circle," Ereba whispered, her voice low and mysterious. "And perhaps, have a high-level holy mage check your mana flow. A wise man once told me that when a person suddenly feels intense, unexplainable disgust toward one person, and intense, unexplainable adoration toward another... it’s rarely their own heart speaking."

Julian’s eyes widened. A sudden, sharp prick of static buzzed in his mind. *'Magic?'*

"Ereba! What nonsense are you spouting now?!" Duke Zenith roared, standing up in a panic.

Seraphina’s face instantly drained of color. Her hands began to tremble beneath her silken sleeves. *‘How does she know? There's no way she could know about the potion!’*

"What do you mean by that, Ereba?" Julian demanded, a seed of genuine doubt instantly taking root in his mind. He looked down at his hands, suddenly feeling a strange, unnatural fog in his thoughts that he hadn't noticed before.

Ereba just gave a mysterious, nonchalant shrug, turning toward the door.

"Oh, don't mind me. It’s just a silly little hunch of mine," Ereba said over her shoulder, her voice airy and calm. "It may or may not be right. But then again... a crown is a very heavy thing to wear when your eyes are wide open, yet completely blind."

With that final, crushing line, she walked out of the drawing-room without looking back once.

*Ding!*

Ereba smirked as she walked down the grand hallway. *‘Let the doubt simmer. Let’s see how long Seraphina's little illusion lasts now.’

Chapter 3: Browsing the Developer Menu

The heavy oak doors of the Zenith mansion shut behind Ereba, instantly cutting off the tense murmurs of the drawing-room. She didn't look back. Walking with an effortless grace she never possessed in her past life, she navigated the winding hallways until she reached her own quarters—an isolated, slightly dusty courtyard at the far edge of the estate.

The moment she closed her bedroom door and locked it, the elegant facade dropped. Ereba let out a long breath and collapsed into a plush armchair.

*‘Alright, System,’* she thought, rubbing her temples. *‘Show me what I just unlocked. Open the Item Shop.’*

*Ding!*

A brilliant, glowing blue holographic interface expanded in front of her eyes. To anyone else, it would look like high-level spatial magic. But to Ereba, a veteran game developer, it looked exactly like an asset store and debugging terminal.

Rows of glowing icons floated in the air, categorized not by fantasy tiers like 'Epic' or 'Legendary,' but by software terms:

* **[Texture Polish Patch (100 pts): Fixes physical blemishes, fatigue, and dull skin.]**

* **[Passive Aura: Firewall (1,000 pts): Blocks low-level mental hexes, curses, and perception alterations.]**

* **[Data Leak Radar (300 pts): Intercepts local audio data and hidden dialogues within a 50-meter radius.]**

Ereba looked at the bottom of the screen where her balance was displayed.

**[Current Balance: -98,400 Reputation Points]**

**[System Warning: User is currently operating on a Developer Credit Line. Max limit: -100,000. Please exercise caution.]**

"Figures," Ereba muttered with a dry chuckle. "Even in an iseaki fantasy, I’m living on credit. But a smart developer knows when to invest."

She tapped her finger on the **[Data Leak Radar]**.

*Ding!*

**[Item Purchased: Data Leak Radar (300 pts).]**

**[New Balance: -98,700 Reputation Points.]**

**[Activating Radar...]**

Instantly, a faint, sonar-like ring pulsed outward from her body in a translucent blue wave. For a moment, there was silence. Then, static buzzed in her ears, followed by the faint sound of whispering voices transmitting directly into her mind.

The radar was picking up a conversation from the adjacent servant's kitchen.

*"...Is it done? Did you put it in?"* a sharp, unfamiliar voice whispered.

*"Yes,"* a trembling, familiar voice replied. It was Mina, Ereba’s personal maid—the one person the original Ereba had trusted blindly. *"The slow-acting phantom poison is completely dissolved in her afternoon tea. She won't feel a thing today, but within six months, her organs will completely fail. No physician will find a trace of magic or poison."*

*"Good. Lady Seraphina will be pleased. Once that wretched woman is dead, you will be highly rewarded, Mina. Make sure she drinks every last drop."*

The audio stream cut off into static.

Sitting alone in her armchair, Ereba’s expression completely froze. The warm sunlight filtering through her window suddenly felt ice-cold. In the original novel, Ereba’s health had mysteriously declined rapidly after the broken engagement, making her weak and easily manic.

*‘So it wasn’t just stress,’* Ereba thought, a dangerous, freezing smile creeping onto her lips. *‘Seraphina didn’t just want my engagement. She wanted my life.’*

Right on cue, a soft, polite knock echoed against her bedroom door.

"My Lady?" Mina’s sweet, gentle voice called out from the hallway. "I’ve brought your afternoon Earl Grey tea to help soothe your mind after the Prince's visit."

Ereba stood up, smoothing down the creases of her silken dress. Her violet eyes flashed with an apex predator's light.

"Come in, Mina," Ereba called out smoothly. "I’ve been waiting for you."
