Useless Boy

Chapter:1-6

SHADOWS OF THE FORGOTTEN HEIR:

CHAPTER 1: The Rule of Strength

This world is called Aethelgard. Here, one law is absolute: The strong rise, the weak vanish. There is no kindness, no mercy, and no justice—only power. Those who possess great martial arts skill or master the ancient magic rule the lands. Those without are stepped upon and forgotten.

The lands are divided. In the center stands the Solaris Empire—the largest, richest, and most powerful nation in existence. Ruled by the invincible Emperor Solas, no one dares challenge them. His only child is Princess Elara. She is not just beautiful; she was born with immense power. She is the pride of the world, the heir to the greatest throne, and the dream of every warrior.

Far away, in a modest, quiet kingdom called Oakhaven, lives a boy named Kael. His father is King Corvus, a ruler of little importance, constantly trying to please the great powers. Kael is the eldest son, yet he is treated as if he does not exist. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on his younger brother, Zane. Zane is talented, loud, charming, and skilled with a sword.

"Zane will be a great King!" their father always says proudly. "Look at him! Unlike this useless thing standing there."

Kael bows his head, hiding the fire burning in his eyes. But people do not know the truth. They do not know what happened when Kael was seven years old.

CHAPTER 2: A Night of Blood and Silence

Kael still remembers that night perfectly. It was raining heavily, the sky as dark as his heart. He saw his mother, the gentle Queen, arguing with his father and a cruel woman named Seraphina—his father’s mistress.

"You are in the way," Seraphina hissed.

Before Kael could run to help, dark magic exploded. He watched in horror as his mother fell lifeless to the ground. His father stood nearby, looking away, while Seraphina smiled.

"Get rid of the boy too," Seraphina said coldly.

But Kael did not cry. He hid in the shadows, his heart turning to ice. He realized: My father does not care about me. No one will protect me. Only strength can bring justice. Only strength can bring revenge.

From that day on, Kael became a ghost. He acted weak, clumsy, and talentless. He let Zane take all the glory. He let his father and Seraphina laugh at him. He let everyone believe he was good for nothing.

But when night falls, Kael vanishes.

Deep in the hidden ruins beneath the castle, he trains until his bones ache. He practices ancient martial arts that no one else knows. He channels magic that should be impossible for someone his age. He pushes his body past every limit. His anger is his fuel. His revenge is his goal. He grows stronger every single day—silently, secretly, terrifyingly.

“Wait for me, Mother,” he whispers under the moonlight. “One day, I will make them kneel before me. And they will pay for every tear you shed.”

CHAPTER 3: The Decree of the Empire

A command arrived from the Solaris Empire—a command that shook the entire world.

The great Emperor Solas had decided it was time for his daughter, Princess Elara, to choose a partner. But she would not marry for politics. She would marry strength.

A Grand Tournament was announced. Every kingdom, great and small, must send their strongest warrior. They will fight in the Arena of Valor. The one who proves to be the strongest, most reliable, and worthy—will win the Princess’s hand and become the future ruler of the entire realm.

King Corvus was thrilled. "This is our chance! Zane will go! He is strong, talented, and he will surely win! Then our family will rule the world!"

Zane puffed out his chest proudly. "Of course, Father. I will defeat everyone."

Then he looked at Kael, who was sweeping the floor nearby. "And what about you, useless brother? Are you going to cry because you aren't good enough?"

Kael looked up slowly, his eyes calm but deep as the ocean. "Father... I want to go too."

Everyone burst out laughing. Even the servants giggled.

"You?" Corvus scoffed. "You will die in the first round! But... fine. Go ahead. It will be amusing to watch you get beaten. Maybe it will teach you your place."

They thought he was going to embarrass himself. They had no idea—Kael was going to the arena to show the world what true strength really looks like.

CHAPTER 4: The Arena of Strength

The Tournament was massive. Thousands gathered. The strongest warriors from every land gathered—giants, mages, masters of combat. And watching from the highest throne was Princess Elara, observing every challenger with sharp, intelligent eyes.

The first rounds were brutal. Zane fought with all his might, barely winning his matches, sweating and terrified. Everyone cheered for him.

Then came Kael’s turn.

He walked into the arena looking small, shy, and trembling. His opponent was a massive warrior, famous for crushing his enemies.

"Is this a joke?" the giant laughed, raising his weapon. "I could blow you away!"

From the stands, Zane laughed. King Corvus shook his head in shame.

Kael stood still. He looked up, and for a split second, his eyes flashed with a terrifying light.

“My mother… watch me now.”

The giant charged. Kael didn't run. He didn't scream. He simply stepped forward. In a blur of motion no one could follow, he struck once.

BOOM!

The giant flew backward, crashing into the wall and sliding down, unconscious. Silence fell over the entire stadium.

Kael stood there, dusting off his sleeves. "I… I guess I got lucky," he mumbled, lowering his head again.

But Princess Elara leaned forward on her throne. Her eyes widened. She saw it. She saw the control, the speed, the immense power hidden behind that humble face. “That boy… he is not weak. He is the strongest person here.”

CHAPTER 5: Secrets and Rising Darkness

As the tournament continued, Kael won every match. He always acted like it was luck, or he was just barely surviving. But Elara watched him closely. She saw the way he moved. She sensed the power hiding inside him. She began to seek him out.

"Why do you hide your strength?" she asked him one evening, away from everyone else.

Kael looked at her, surprised. He saw no arrogance in her eyes—only honesty. For the first time, he told someone a little of his truth. "Because in this world, if people know you are strong before you are ready... they will kill you before you can do what you must."

Elara nodded slowly. She understood. She too was strong, and she knew the dangers of power. A bond began to grow between them. The girl who had everything, and the boy who had nothing but a secret and a vow.

But something terrible was happening.

Deep beneath the earth, ancient seals were breaking. The energy from the Tournament, the gathering of so much power, had awakened something that had been sleeping for one thousand years.

The Dark Lords of the Old Era.

A thousand years ago, they ruled the world through fear and cruelty. They were defeated and sealed away. But now, they were waking up. They were filled with hatred for the descendants of those who trapped them. They wanted revenge. They wanted to burn this world to ash.

The sky turned dark purple. Strange storms raged. Monsters that had only existed in legends began to appear. The strongest Kings trembled in fear. The world was not just fighting for a Princess anymore—they were fighting for their very survival.

CHAPTER 6: Unmasked

The final round of the Tournament arrived. Only two remained: Kael and the strongest warrior of the Empire.

Before the fight began, the ground shook violently. Cracks opened in the arena floor. The sky turned black. The Ancient Evil was beginning to invade. Fear gripped the hearts of everyone.

"Run away!" people screamed.

Kael stood in the center of the arena. He looked at the darkness approaching. He looked at his father, Zane, and Seraphina—shaking in fear. He looked at Elara, standing brave but ready to fight.

“No more hiding,” Kael decided. “It is time to show who I really am.”

He dropped his weak posture. He stood tall, and suddenly, a massive aura exploded from his body—golden, burning, ancient power that pushed back the darkness itself. His eyes shone with fierce determination.

"I AM KAEL, SON OF LADY LIRA!" his voice boomed, heard by everyone. "I AM NOT WEAK! I AM THE HEIR OF A POWER LONG FORGOTTEN!"

Everyone was stunned. King Corvus fell to his knees. Zane looked at his brother in disbelief and shame. Seraphina stepped back, terrified. This was the boy they threw away? This was the power they ignored?

Elara smiled proudly. “I knew it.”

CHAPTER 7: Justice and The Coming Storm

Kael turned toward the royal box where his father and Seraphina stood. With a wave of his hand, he pulled them gently but firmly before him. He did not strike them. He looked at them with eyes colder than ice.

"You killed my mother because you thought she was weak," Kael said. "You ignored me, laughed at me, and threw me aside because I did not shine like my brother. But look now. Zane is strong, yes—but I am powerful."

He stripped his father of his crown. He took Seraphina’s magic away, leaving her helpless and weak, just as she had left his mother.

"I will not kill you," Kael said. "But you will live the rest of your lives knowing that the son you despised is the one who saved this world. That is your punishment. That is my mother’s justice."

His father wept, realizing the terrible mistake he had made. Zane bowed his head to his brother, accepting that Kael was rightfully the master of their house.

But there was no time to rest. Far on the horizon, the sky turned black. The Ancient Kings were marching. The greatest war in history was about to begin. Kael looked at Elara. She nodded at him, drawing her sword.

"Ready?" she asked.

Kael drew his own weapon, his eyes burning with the fire of a thousand suns. "Let them come. We are the strongest. And in this world... the strongest survive."

CHAPTER 8: The Shadow Army Rises

The cheers of the crowd had barely faded when the ground began to tremble again—not from fear, but from the heavy, marching steps of something enormous. The dark clouds covering the sky swirled violently. From the horizon, beyond the borders of the Empire, a massive wave of shadows was sweeping across the land.

Emperor Solas stood up, his face grim. "That is the aura of the Void Legion—the army of the Ancient Kings."

Princess Elara immediately moved to stand beside Kael. She drew her sword, which shimmered with pure, blinding white light—the sacred magic of the Solaris bloodline.

"They are coming," Elara said calmly. "Whatever happens, Kael—we stand together."

Kael felt a warmth spread through his chest. For the first time in years, his strength wasn't fueled only by revenge. It was fueled by protection.

The First Strike

Moments later, the vanguard of the Ancient Army arrived. Creatures made of smoke and jagged stone poured into the arena. Ordinary weapons passed right through them. Panic erupted.

Zane tried to fight bravely but was struck down. As the monster raised its claw to finish him, Kael moved instantly. In the blink of an eye, he shattered the beast into dust.

Zane stared up at his older brother. "Kael... you saved me?"

"You are still family," Kael said simply, offering his hand.

The Truth About His Power

Emperor Solas leaped down beside them, fighting desperately. He looked at Kael destroying the creatures effortlessly.

"Boy!" the Emperor shouted. "Your light! It is the Primal Sun—the power that sealed the Ancient Kings away a thousand years ago! That is your birthright!"

A roar louder than thunder shook the air. Floating high above them was Lord Malakor, the leader of the returned Kings. He looked down at Kael.

"So... the blood of the traitors still lives," Malakor’s voice boomed. "You think you can stop us?"

An Unbreakable Bond

Elara stepped forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with Kael. She poured all her power into her sword. Kael felt her energy connecting with his own. Their powers began to merge—her pure sunlight, and his ancient golden fire.

"We can't fight him alone," Elara said. "But together... we are unstoppable."

Together, they raised their hands. A barrier of blinding gold and white light exploded outward, shattering every shadow spear. Below them, hope returned to their people.

CHAPTER 9: The Sacred Union of Power

The battle paused, but the danger was greater than ever. Lord Malakor retreated to gather his strength. That night, Kael and Elara traveled to the highest peak of the Solaris Temple.

"Your power is the Primal Sun," Elara said softly. "And my bloodline carries the Eternal Light. Long ago, these two powers were one. They were separated so they could be reborn in two souls who would choose each other."

For days and nights, they trained together. They learned to breathe as one, to move as one. They discovered that when they stood side-by-side, their power didn't just add up—it multiplied.

Back in Oakhaven, changes were happening. King Corvus stepped down from his throne. Zane trained hard to protect their people. Even Seraphina spent her days tending to graves, seeking forgiveness.

CHAPTER 10: The Gathering Storm

Three months passed. The world united under one banner to prepare for war. But the darkness grew stronger, feeding on fear.

One evening, five massive shadows descended. The Five Ancient Kings. Malakor stood at the center.

"Surrender the Primal Sun heir," Malakor boomed. "Or we will erase every trace of your existence."

The great gates opened. Kael and Elara walked out, hand in hand. As they stepped forward, the darkness recoiled.

"You ruled through fear," Kael said firmly. "You were sealed away because you forgot: Power is not meant to rule over others. It is meant to protect them."

CHAPTER 11: The Ultimate Battle

The war began with a roar that split the heavens. At the center of the battlefield, Kael and Elara faced the Five Ancient Kings alone. Enemies attacked with centuries of hate, but the two moved as one. They flowed around attacks like water, struck back like lightning.

One by one, the Ancient Kings fell. They had always fought for themselves—divided and selfish. Kael and Elara fought together. That was their strength.

Finally, only Lord Malakor remained. He absorbed the power of his fallen brothers, turning into a colossal beast of pure darkness. He struck Kael, sending him crashing into the earth.

"Kael!" Elara screamed, shielding him.

Malakor laughed. "I am eternal darkness!"

Kael stood up slowly. He looked at Elara. She nodded. They joined their hands. All their power, love, and hope poured into one strike.

"DAWN OF ETERNITY!"

A beam of pure, blinding light erupted. It washed away the darkness completely. Malakor screamed and vanished forever.

CHAPTER 12: Justice and a New Beginning

The darkness lifted. The sun returned, the grass turned green, and life returned to the world. Kael stood amidst the cheers of millions. He had saved the world.

He returned to Oakhaven one last time. Before his weeping father, he spoke:

"You taught me strength is everything. But I learned True strength is being able to forgive."

To Seraphina he said: "You will spend your life making up for what you did. That is your justice."

Kael had his justice—not by spilling blood, but by rising above them.

FINAL CHAPTER: The King Who Was Forgotten

Kael never took a throne for himself. Instead, he and Elara traveled the world together, helping rebuild, teaching people that strength is meant to protect.

Zane ruled Oakhaven well, always honoring his brother. Elara ruled the Empire, but always with Kael by her side.

Legends were told about them. Whenever trouble arose, a boy with golden eyes and a girl with hair like sunlight appeared to protect those in need.

Kael’s mother could finally rest in peace. Her son had turned pain into purpose, loneliness into love, and weakness into the strongest power of all.

And so, their story became a legend that would last forever
