Ethan smiled faintly and followed Ryan through the beautiful campus.

Expensive cars lined the entrance, and every building looked more luxurious than the last.

He couldn't help tightening his grip on his old backpack.

As they crossed the central courtyard, a basketball rolled to Ethan's feet.

Ethan bent down, picked it up and looked ahead.

A tall young man stood waiting with his arms folded

Without saying a word, Ethan threw the ball towards him.

The young man caught it effortlessly.

Ryan's smile disappeared instantly.

Lucas stared at him for a few seconds before taking another step closer. The air between them suddenly felt heavy.

Lucas turned around and walked away without another word.

Ryan let out a long sigh.

Ethan looked towards Lucas's disappearing figure, completely unaware that this brief encounter was about to change his entire university life
