THE CHP WHICH NEVER ENDED

EP 1

CHP 1

The evening wind blew softly through the open balcony, carrying with it the scent of rain and forgotten memories. A young girl sat curled up in a chair, her diary resting in her lap. Tears streamed down her face, but she made no effort to wipe them away.

With trembling fingers, she opened the worn-out diary and stared at the pages filled with words, memories, and pain.

She took a shaky breath and began to write

They say every story eventually reaches its final chapter. The characters find their happiness, the wounds heal, and the ending brings peace.

But what if a chapter never ends?

What if the memories refuse to fade, the pain refuses to leave, and the person you loved becomes the reason you no longer recognize yourself?

My name is Rebu, and this diary holds the story I never had the courage to tell anyone.

A story about first love, broken promises, and a heartbreak so deep that even time couldn't mend it.

I loved him with every piece of my heart. I trusted every word he spoke, every promise he made, and every dream he painted for our future.

But some people don't leave with a goodbye.

They leave with lies.

And by the time I discovered the truth, I was already drowning in a story I couldn't escape.

This is not a love story.

This is the story of how the boy I loved became the stranger who broke me.

And this is the chapter that never ended

The end of December 31, 2025.

The beginning of January 1, 2026.

Today, she was deeply sad.

It was New Year's Day, a day that was supposed to bring hope, excitement, and fresh beginnings. Yet none of those things reached her heart. She wanted to cry, desperately wanted to let the tears fall, but somehow she couldn't. No matter how hard she tried, she could not forget him.

She didn't know why her heart kept urging her to scream, to sob, to let out the pain that had been trapped inside for so long.

Everyone told her she was a good person. Everyone spoke kindly of her. But whenever she looked within herself, she saw someone frighteninga version of herself she could neither understand nor escape. Some mistakes stay with a person forever, and so do certain people. He was one of them.

His words still echoed in her mind.

"You are not worthy of love."

The sentence had become a wound that refused to heal.

She sat at her study table, writing in her diary. Tears blurred the ink as she rested her head on the wooden surface. Every few moments she glanced at the clock, watching time move forward while her heart remained trapped in the past.

Outside, the world welcomed a new year.

Inside, nothing felt new.

For her, this day was no different from any other painful day she had survived.

After a long silence, she unlocked her phone and opened Instagram. There was no excitement, no celebration, no endless list of greetings. She sent New Year wishes to only three friends.

Sukoon-e-Qalb.

Kamo.

Bhatti.

That was all.

No parties. No countdowns. No laughter.

Just a girl, her diary, a few unsent tears, and a heart still carrying the weight of someone she could never completely forget.

Life seemed to be slowly returning to normal.

She had started smiling again. Happiness, though fragile, had begun finding its way back into her days. She studied eagerly, rushing through her work with only one thought in mind to finish quickly so she could talk to her best friend.

Night after night, she stayed awake, studying for hours. And when she was finally done, she would talk to Bhatti—Rehaan.

Those conversations became a part of her routine, something she quietly looked forward to. Gradually, everything started to feel lighter. The days seemed less lonely, and life became a little more pleasant.

Rehan cared deeply for someone, and he often spoke about that person. She listened to his stories, his worries, and the emotions he carried in his heart.

There was something about him that surprised her.

In her entire life, she had never met a man like him before.

He was the first man she had ever known who had once tried to end his own life.

The realization stayed with her. Behind his laughter and casual words, she sensed a pain she could not fully understandable pain that had once pushed him to the edge.

And perhaps that was why she listened to him so carefully.

Because she knew what it meant to carry wounds that no one else could see.

She never should have thought that way.

At least, that's what she kept telling herself.

How could a thought like that even find its way into my mind?

Didn't she know it was wrong?

Didn't she know it wasn't him she was drawn to—but the comfort of his words, the sincerity in his actions?

Didn't she know that entertaining such thoughts was a line she should never cross?

She closed her eyes and exhaled.

No.

He was different.

After all this time, she had finally found someone who was nothing more—and nothing less—than a friend. A friend with no hidden intentions. No unspoken expectations.

He would often laugh and say, "Even when I get married someday, you're not getting rid of me. My wife will have to accept that you're staying."

And somehow, those words always made her smile.

He made her feel important. He chose her in the little moments that mattered.

Just her friend.

The same friend who had apologized after making her cry.

A memory slipped into her mind.

~Flashback~

She had written an apology scene in her novel once.

He had recreated it just for her.

He recorded himself with one hand holding his phone, while the other tugged gently at his ear.

"I'm sorry! It was my mistake, yaar."

Then, placing a hand over his heart, his voice softened.

"I'm truly sorry. It won't happen again."

The embarrassment on his face, the sincerity in his eyes... it was impossible to make a mistake.

~End of Flashback~

Without realizing it, the corners of her lips curved into a smile.

A small one.

The kind that appears quietly, before the heart has time to stop it.
