AGINUS - Conqueror of Abyss
{Chapter - 1}
A normal, rather crowded evening. People on their way home from work and traffic clubbed roads.
The sun was setting slowly with a hue of orange covering the sea side, as the waves shore to the shore with ease and might.
Suddenly! The sky split Opened a portal, purple and black. Inside of the vortex came out an angel with white feathered wings and hair as the colour of snowflake.
Everything stopped. Taking in the new sight of light read in holy bibles and books. 'An angel indeed' they thought.
The people were sore with happiness below. But the next second, all those joys ended in a blood bath.
Those weren't angels, but rather the devil in disguise.
Half of humanity was closed as extinct.
Just then a human stepped forward and rose to defeat the monstrous beasts.
These humans who had power, they named them - *Espers*
They fought against the beasts. Saving humanity.
But everything and anything had a weakness. These espers were unnatural beings but the overuse of their power can lead them to rampage which can cause a disaster of unimaginable amounts. They were a ticking time bomb.
The research lab - HEORF found a new kind who hid within the mortals, *guides*. They had a phenomenal scent which helped to control the overdue rampage of the espers. Each esper and guide were allied together on the basis of their own classes for control.
Well, this happened 14 years ago and the world has changed from normal human civilization to a higher tier facility coexisting between unnatural beings and mortals.
Now let's leave the past and come to the present, shall we?

"My dear mayhem, when is it my turn to enter?"
Mayhem La Lisa
"Dr. Matheem is dating the data out. Just a few more minutes."
Aginus de Taehyung
"Have any idea why Dr. Matheem called me over for? Other than the vital check up, that is."
Mayhem La Lisa
"I heard some corners, they said there was a new esper in the area."
Aginus de Taehyung
"A new esper? Interesting~"
Mayhem La Lisa
"Looks like it's up. Let's head in."
Aginus de Taehyung
"Sure!"
Well, I am the wonderful Aginus de Taehyung. I go by Aginus here. I am the 2nd ranked S class esper of HEORF, sounds cool.
I was told to get to the research facility to get a data check, of someone. Hearing that there is a new esper, it excites me!
Because what do you mean by giving me an empty check data will do?! He is a new esper but! At least what is his level of power or something? No!

💭"This stupid damn facility of bullshit!"
Aginus de Taehyung
💭"They want me to train a new esper?! Like hell as if I am getting paid for all this!"
I just stood in front of the confinement door.
Espers were restrained if they were on rampage without a guide ally or if they were a newly awakener.
Aginus de Taehyung
💭"But from what I have heard.. wasn't he awakened two months ago?"
Aginus de Taehyung
*sighed*
Aginus de Taehyung
"Is this kid already on rampage? Then shouldn't a guide be assigned of his level here instead of an esper?"
The confinement door opened with a click as I stepped into the room. It was cold but not unbearable. As the fog lifted, I could see the latter sitting there calmly.
He was tied up in restraints of all sorts and his eyes were covered. To say in fact, I can't fully describe how he entirely looked in the dark space.
He spoke, his voice held maturity more than for his age.
"So, are you my new trainer? I hope you last farther than the previous ones"

💭"Ok, I take back what I just thought. This latter is a brat."
You ask how do I know from one say?
Because I have thought so many brats before. And I am a professional trainer.

A few months have passed since I started training that new young man. From so far of training him, one thing that I understood is..

"I am losing my damn patience!"
I shouted as I slammed the glass in my hand into the table.
Mayhem La Lisa
"Oh my, I wonder why?"
Mayhem gave me an uninterested look as she nested her glass of alcohol in her hand while she texted someone on her phone. Probably her lover, I don't care.
Aginus de Taehyung
"Because of that damn new brat!"
Aginus de Taehyung
*sighed* "Do you have any idea how annoying it is to see someone not listen to you?! Even if he did listen! He acts as if he has been an expert for years!"
Shortly after hearing my loud reply, mayhem looked straight at me with no interest. I know if I say more, she will trash me.
Mayhem La Lisa
"Well you were assigned as his trainer."
Aginus de Taehyung
"What happened to the last two? I heard he has two trainers before me, what happened to them?"
She flopped her phone on the slick table facing the screen down. As she took a sip of her alcohol and answered my question with a new found interest.
Mayhem La Lisa
"From what I know so far, Dr. Matheem said, the aspects of the last two who trained him didn't even last more than a week."
Mayhem La Lisa
"The first was an A class esper from below range, the first time the latter came into the facility two months ago, he was moved on to be trained by the A class and it was said that the A class esper had given up and quit being an esper within 3 days of time."
Aginus de Taehyung
"That's... Should I say confusing or concerning in this part? Honestly, I don't know."
Aginus de Taehyung
"What about the second one? Didn't he 'take' the latter out and gave him a name?"
Mayhem La Lisa
"Indeed. The second trainer was a higher secondary trainer from lower too. An S class old man, I suppose you know the old man Vectator? It was him, the old 6th ranker."
Aginus de Taehyung
"Oh! The one who left his spot out of the blue? Was it because of this kid?"
Aginus de Taehyung
"Damn.." *mumbled*

"To think the old man left his spot unannounced, I felt there was a reason, but I didn't try to look into it much."

"Have you got anything state on why he left?"

"So far I only know that the new young esper is a good-for-nothing."
Taehyung leaned back on his chair, shoulder flopped with a lost motive.
Mayhem La Lisa
"How are you two so far?"
Aginus de Taehyung
*Deep sigh* "Like I just said, he is pissing me off!"
Aginus de Taehyung
"And you know damn well I'm not the best soldier with patience!"
Mayhem La Lisa
"What got you so pissed, manic?"
Aginus de Taehyung
"Like I just said earlier, he doesn't take it seriously!"
Aginus de Taehyung
💭"I wasn't lying when I thought this."
Whenever I told him to take it seriously and train, he would just do the needful and don't even go full out!
It's as if he is bored of everything, like he knows everything.

"Are you taking the sector 7 mission?"
Mayhem La Lisa
"They say the gate is opening sooner than we expected."
Aginus de Taehyung
"Sector 7?"
Aginus de Taehyung
"Isn't that a low area?"
Mayhem La Lisa
"It is. We want you to lead them."
Aginus de Taehyung
💭"Sector 7, low area is rather not that much of a problem. I wonder if I can drag that brat too?"
Aginus de Taehyung
"Fine, I will. Who is my team?"
She leaned back on her seat, crossing her legs over while stirring her glass of alcohol.
Mayhem La Lisa
"Those who you choose. It's your team."

*smirk*

"Well then."
All this question kept shuffling in my brain, trying to make sense of what is happening.
I told myself in the empty room as it echoed right back at me.
💭"They blocked my vision? Hilarious!"
💭"They are restraining me. Amusing!"
💭"Ah! I remember now, I was confined for being a new awakened 'esper'."
These humans are quite stupid for their own wellness! Blocking my vision and restraining me? Only a fool will think of such things! These human devices of sorts are quite different and useless. None has a sense of taste!
The sudden opening of a door brought me to the present. It really made me.. Well, interested! This human who just stepped inside for sure has a lot of thoughts! To make things easier, he was the one who annoyed my sleep in this darkness. The cold of the room was bearable but somewhat annoying.

~He looks like an ethereal spring blossoming in the blissfulness of falling snow in winter. If that was possible. I wonder what his eye colour is! Is it blue? Or brown? Or green! Or just orbs?~

This 'esper' for sure is a kind! To think of me as a beautiful 'human' is lovingly.. whimsical.
From all those scattered thoughts, I was sure this person was my trainer.

"Hope you can last longer than the last two."
Just after I spoke, he changed his view of me! His thoughts took a whole 180 and ended in representing me as an infantile brat! The sheer audacity of this human.
I remember coming here on just a base of Inquisitiveness. I learned the ways of human nature which was strangely Peculiar.
To be extremely pointed, I came here 8 months ago and two weeks ago. I knew nothing of this odd place at first, just wandering around like a stray dog. That's when I saw the sight of the Nexus opening above me! These humans called it a 'gate', quite an ordinary word.
Just then after the Nexus opened one of the dear 'Erranders' stepped out of it, trashing the ground below it crossed. Such a site which was glorious.
Right afterwards a group of humans went ahead, they carried kinds of weapons and charged towards the erranders. I stood in my place, mocking them for such a foolish act. But they were different, these 'humans' possessed powers of different kinds, I had taken aback my thoughts of mocking them. They simply, as if this was a daily occurrence, cleared the erranders and left in a matter of minutes. I grew quite fond of these 'powers possessing humans'.
I asked around to know, these were 'espers', the one who protects the weak. They were ranked in strength and physical power systems. What I found more intriguing was the way people described them. They said it like folklore. 'They are new humans born from the central essence of the lord of 'seeker' himself. The ones who fought the beast and preserve us who are weak in their body.'

But another side of me was strick with a question - 'Why are they even coming to this land?'
As the day passed, something unexpected and unknowing to me happened. An esper had gone on rampage in the whole of the central town.
