Captured by My Obsessed Stepbrother

The ACCIDENT

"Blake"

"Blake."

Blake's mother called, her tone soft and sweet.

"Get down here or we're going to be late."

Blake hurried downstairs, adjusting his tie. His father looked him over and hummed in approval.

"Okay, let's go. We don't want to miss your chance to see the new fireworks show tonight."

His father ruffled his hair lightly before they stepped outside. The front door closed with a dull thud behind them as his dad locked it and headed toward the car, where Blake and his mom were already waiting.

They climbed in, and his father turned the ignition. The engine rumbled to life as they began the four-hour drive to the park. Music from the old car radio filled the air while Blake rested his head against the window, watching buildings, trees, and passing cars blur by.

"Isn't it wonderful? You finally decided to join us for the show this year," his mother said with a warm smile.

Blake scoffed quietly.

"The only reason I'm coming is because all my friends said it was amazing. That's why I decided to tag along. No big deal."

"Well, as long as we're doing it together as a family, that's all that matters," his father replied, never taking his eyes off the road.

The three of them fell into a comfortable silence, broken only by the music and the steady hum of the tires.

Rain began to fall.

At first, it was only a light drizzle, but within minutes it became a heavy downpour. The windshield wipers swept back and forth as his father slowed the car.

"I can barely see," he muttered.

A pair of headlights suddenly appeared through the curtain of rain.

"They're coming too—"

A deafening horn shattered the silence.

His father jerked the steering wheel, tires screeching against the soaked asphalt. The car spun out of control.

"Hold on!" his mother screamed.

Metal slammed against metal with an earth-shaking crash.

Glass exploded across the cabin.

The world flipped.

Then—

Silence.

Blake's voice cracked as tears streamed down his face.

"No... this can't be real, right? Mom... Dad... answer me!"

His words were swallowed by the sound of rain and distant sirens. His hands shook violently as he reached toward them, but he froze before he could touch either of them. The sight before him felt impossible, like a nightmare he couldn't wake up from.

People crowded around the wreckage. Some shouted for everyone to stay back while others tried to pry open the crushed car doors. A woman removed her jacket and draped it over Blake's shoulders, but he barely noticed. His eyes never left his parents.

"They're still inside!"

"The ambulance is almost here!"

"Someone check if they're breathing!"

The voices blended together into meaningless noise. Blake's ears rang, and every breath came out in short, painful gasps.

"I-I don't want to be alone..." he whispered.

At last, flashing red and blue lights pierced the darkness. Paramedics rushed from the ambulance, moving with practiced urgency. One knelt beside Blake, gently guiding him away from the wreck despite his desperate attempts to pull free.

"My parents!" he cried. "Please help them! Please!"

"We're doing everything we can," the paramedic said calmly, checking Blake for injuries.

Blake watched helplessly as the rescue team worked around the twisted metal. A white sheet was unfolded nearby, and his heart dropped into the pit of his stomach

"Sorry kid they are dead"

The ORPHANAGE

In just a day, his world managed to fall apart.

What had begun as a perfect family outing had ended as a bloody crime scene.

The paramedic's words registered slowly.

"Dead..."

Blake stared at him, unable to understand.

"I'm... I'm sorry, son. Your parents didn't make it."

He tightened his grip on the paramedic's sleeve, tears spilling uncontrollably down his face.

"No... No..."

His voice came out as a broken whisper before rising into a desperate cry.

"No! You're lying! Please check again! My mom... my dad... they can't be dead!"

He struggled against the paramedics, trying to run toward the wrecked car, but two firefighters gently held him back.

"Please, calm down."

"They're still there!" Blake screamed. "They're waiting for me!"

His cries echoed through the rain-soaked highway.

The white sheets were carefully pulled over two motionless bodies.

That was the moment Blake's heart shattered.

The funeral was held four days later.

Gray clouds covered the sky as rain drizzled over the cemetery. Black umbrellas surrounded two polished wooden coffins decorated with white lilies.

Blake stood between them, dressed in a black suit that suddenly felt far too big for him.

People approached one after another.

"I'm so sorry for your loss."

"They were wonderful people."

"If you need anything..."

Their words blended together into meaningless sounds.

He couldn't even cry anymore.

His tears had already run dry.

When the coffins were lowered into the earth, Blake took one shaky step forward.

"I'll be good..." he whispered. "So... please come back."

No one answered.

Only the wind.

Days passed.

Since neither of his parents had living relatives willing or able to take him in, social services began searching for a place where he could stay.

Blake barely spoke during the interviews. He answered every question with a nod, a shake of his head, or complete silence.

A week later, a social worker stopped outside an old iron gate.

"This will be your home for now," she said gently.

Blake looked up at the building.

It wasn't ugly.

It wasn't beautiful either.

It was simply... unfamiliar.

As the large gate slowly creaked open, he stepped inside carrying nothing but a small suitcase filled with clothes—and a heart that felt far heavier than anything he could ever lift.

The gates closed behind him with a loud clang.

For the first time in his life...

Blake truly understood what it meant to be alone.

The months passed Blake was final getting his mind off the incident finally speaking and chatting like a normal person but the scar still remained the trauma of what happened still etched in his mind but he decided to take his mind off it and live normally cuz he remembered that he was still going to loose them anyway.

It was a bright sunny morning Blake just woke up his hair slightly ruffled when he was called out, when he reached two people a man and a woman dressed expensive were waiting for him. A voice rung from the opposite side it was the lady that always took care of him, she smiled and said.

"Blake congratulations you have been adopted they are your new parents."
