Manali is a beautiful valley located in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the most popular hill station in India.
It is famous for sightseeing and adventurous sports like hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting, trekking and mountain biking.

Maya frowned in her sleep, feeling disturbed by the continuous knocking at the door. She shifted her body under the blanket while placing a pillow over her ears, blocking the sound.
With a tired groaned, Maya opened her eyelids slightly. The bright ray of the sunlight, entering through the curtains cast a pale streaks of light across the room.

(got up slowly while rubbing her eyes)
"uffff.....kun saa??" (frustrated)
(uffff....who is it???)
A stern voice was heard from the outside.

"Beti.... hau aasa" (calmly)

"Madam has called... and inform that she will be out for business.... for a...few days."

Maya stood up from her bed and went to the washroom for her daily morning routine
I was born and lives with my parents in Manali since her childhood.
Our family were not a native people of Manali but had resided over for business purposes.
They were always out of town for business and rarely seen at home.
It doesn't mean that they doesn't love me. But they are just not there when I need them most of the time.
Every parent has their way of loving their child. Some strict and conservative, some making their children treat them as a friend and mentor.
I had grown up with not many friends or classmate.
I was home school till higher secondary and went to London for further study in Interior design and had recently came home just a few months back.
Early morning, the house was chaotic with maids running around doing their work
The cook were preparing the breakfast in the kitchen while on the other hand the maid were doing household chores
After sometime, a maid came running inside the kitchen urgently with a quick pace.
Payal(Maid)
"Sabhbhi, jethi kaamniye aamhūn obre di sadyare. Tsheke-tsheke, bada zaroori aa!!!!"
(Everyone the head maid has called us in the hall. Quick it is urgent!!!!)
The maid looked at each other in confusion before they left all their incomplete job except the cook and rushed towards the hall.
The head maid was standing in a commanding position in the hall.
The hall room was silent for a few second before the head maid strict voice was heard breaking the silent.
Head maid
"Suno sabhbhi, Madam te Saahb kuchh dihaade taan-ee baahre gore-e. Taan-ee main chaahūn ke sabhbhi unāṁ ree gair-haajiri dee aapu ro kaam theek karee karo. Koi bhee dheel te aalas nee chal-lo. Poore man te marzi kaane aapu ro kaam karo. Je main koi bhee shikayat sunee, taan-ee tuhūn osee bakhte naukri la kaddhi dena." ( commanded strictly)
(Listen everyone Madam and Sir are out of town for a few days. So I want everyone to do their job properly in their absence. No lacking behind and being lazy. Do it with dedication and willingness to do the job. If I heard any complain. YOU ARE FIRED IMMEDIATELY.)
The workers nod their head slightly in response.
Head maid
"Payal, ees haphte dee too inhāṁ ree incharge si-e. Dhyan rakhkhe ke ye aapu ro kaam theek karee karo."(Strict tone)
(Payal You are incharge for these week. Make sure to look after them making sure that they are doing their job properly)

"Haan jethi kaamniye, main poora dhyan rakhoongi."(nod slowly)

The head maid walk away from there after announcing and assigning them the job to be done for the day before leaving the room.
The maids sighed in relieved before looking at Payal and started teasing her.
The head maid enter the room and pick up her phone, searching the contact list before calling the number.

(Good morning Madam)

Maya has a habit of waking up early and start working on her design and arranged her things before going to her office.
A hour later, She went inside her closet and came out after dressing up for her office. She works as an interior designer in a C-design company for two years.
She was busy organizing her paper work when suddenly a knock was heard at the door.

Payal quietly entered inside the room with a tray of tea and biscuit.
Her hands were trembling due to nervousness while placing the tray, not daring to meet at Maya's gazed.
Payal stood there for a few minutes looking everywhere but not at the particular person in the room.
She thought for a second after looking at the room before began to walked towards the study room with the intention of organizing the file and paper.

Payal bow her head before leaving from the room, closing the door quietly.

At around 9:00 am, Maya stood up from her chair and began to put her stuffing, design paper inside the bag before leaving the room.
Maya reached the living room and saw the head maid sipping tea near the varendra, looking at the gardener trimming the plant to give them a proper shape.
The head maid sat on the bench covering herself with a maroon shawl.

Hearing the sound of footsteps from behind, the head maid turned around and saw Maya.

(Looked at her watch in her wrist)

"Bakhte paandhe... jiyāṁ hamesha aas thee. Main siraf tuhaari hi baat johūñ tha."(Smile at her lovingly)

(The gardener is not doing his job properly. The plant is slightly crooked in shape. Looked over there)

(Turned and looked at the plant)

"Too ke kara tha?? Hero ees ro jhukaav theek nee-e."(scolded the gardener)

The gardener was startled in shock before looking at the plants to find for any mistake.

"Maaf kareya jethi kaamniye... main eeskhe osee bakhte theek karūñ tha. Bas mūn-khe thoda hor bakht de-aa."(guilty)
(I'm sorry head maid... I'll fix it right away. Just gave me more time)

"Uhhhh... bakht bakht bakht. Too savere aath baje la aapu ro kaam kara tha te ajūn tak khatam nee hoya."💢

Maya looked at the gardener apologizing but remained silent for a moment before looking at the plant.
The roses were beautiful but now it's slightly look odd due to its irregular shape.
Maya walked forward towards the gardener before taking his scissors.
She held the roses before cutting the plant into half from the stem.

The gardener took the scissors with his hands trembling, looking sadly at the roses.

The head maid wanted to say something after looking at the gardener's sad face but could only sigh and nodded her head slightly in response.

"Then I'll leave now. Bye"
Maya turned back and went towards the garage but suddenly halted her steps

"Jethi kaamniye, mūn-khe aaj late (deer) hoe jaalee. Taan-ee aaj raati ro khaana mat banaao te mūn-hree baat mat johiyo."(went inside the garage)
(Head maid. I'll be late today. So don't make dinner or wait for me tonight.)

"Hūñh.... tuhara ke matlab e???"(Confused)
(Huhh.... What do you mean???)

(Went quickly towards her)

"Tuhūñ late hoe jaale te raati re khaane taan-ee ghara nee aune. Chalo theek e, main samajhi gayee ke too busy (byast) si-e. Par je Madam tuhare baare dee puhchlee, tāṁ main unāṁ khe ke jawaab delee!!!"💢
(You are going to be late and not coming home for dinner. Ok fine I understand you are busy. But how am I going to inform Madam if she asked me about you!!!)
The head maid was dumbfounded because Maya has never done this before - coming home late at night. There is a rule that is strictly needed to be followed by Maya.
