The college hallway was filled with laughter.
Students walked from one class to another, enjoying another ordinary day.
No one knew that within a few seconds... everything would change.
The sharp sound echoed through the hallway. Every conversation came to an abrupt stop. Hundreds of eyes turned toward the scene.

"D-Did someone just get slapped?"

For Taehyung, it was a person.

An alarm echoed through the tiny apartment.
Golden morning sunlight slipped through the worn curtains, bathing the small home in a warm glow. Today wasn't just another morning—it was the beginning of a new chapter in Taehyung's life.
Taehyung reached out from beneath the blanket and switched off the alarm.
He lay there for a few seconds, staring at the ceiling.
Today was his first day of college.
The same city they had once sworn never to return to.

The delicious aroma of breakfast drifted into the room.

*A small smile appeared on Taehyung's face.*

Taehyung walked into the small kitchen.
Seokjin was setting two simple plates of fried rice on the table.
The sleeves of his white shirt were rolled up neatly, and a faded apron was tied around his waist.
Despite the gentle smile on his face, the dark circles beneath his eyes revealed countless sleepless nights.

Taehyung pulled out a chair and sat down.
As he reached for his spoon, his eyes stopped on the plate in front of Seokjin.
It hadn't been touched.

The small apartment fell quiet for a moment.
Seokjin blinked before letting out a small laugh.

"I already ate before you woke up."
He casually picked up a glass of water and took a sip.
Taehyung didn't answer.
Instead, his eyes drifted toward the sink.
There wasn't another dirty plate.
Not even another pair of chopsticks.
His grip on the spoon tightened.
He already knew the answer.
Without saying a word, Taehyung scooped half of the fried rice onto Seokjin's plate.
He gently pushed it across the table.

"Then eat with me."
Seokjin looked at the plate before raising his eyes to Taehyung.

*A faint smile slowly spread across his face.* "...You've really grown up."

"No." *He smiled shyly.*

"I just learned from the best."

*Seokjin chuckled and picked up his spoon.* "...Brat."
Neither of them spoke about money.
Neither of them needed to.
As Taehyung reached for his glass of water, an envelope resting at the corner of the table caught his attention.

*He frowned slightly.* "...Hyung?"
He picked up the envelope and stared at the words printed across the front.
