⏰ Alarm rings. mut… mut… mut…

She forces herself up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, already knowing there is no choice but to start the day.

Aurora quietly makes her bed, smoothing the sheets with tired hands, and walks to the kitchen.

She prepares breakfast in silence, the only sound being the faint clatter of dishes. After eating nothing herself, she washes everything clean again.

She then takes a quick bath, letting the warm water wash away her sleepiness for just a moment before reality returns. She changes into her school uniform, movements slow from exhaustion.

Thirty minutes later...

She finishes the laundry, her small hands struggling slightly with the weight of the wet clothes.

She mops the floor, even though her legs already feel heavy.

After finishing every chore...

Aurora looks at the clock.

Her stomach tightens, but she doesn’t dare think about food or money. She doesn’t take any lunch or even a single coin for school—her brother never allows her to keep anything for herself. Not even something as small as that.

She quietly grips the strap of her worn backpack.

Aurora doesn’t respond. She simply nods slightly and walks out of the house, her steps quiet, almost afraid to make a sound.

The morning air feels colder than it should as she clutches her backpack tightly, walking toward school with an empty stomach and a heavier heart.

Aurora quietly walks through the school gates, keeping her head down.

The girls laugh.

The girls roll their eyes and walk away.

Aurora enters the classroom and quietly takes her seat.

The class becomes quiet.

The boys clap loudly while some girls clap reluctantly.
