Two hours before the delivery...
Taehyung was lying comfortably on the couch, watching TV with a bowl of cut fruits resting on top of his huge pregnant belly. Every now and then, he picked up a piece and ate it while rubbing his stomach. Jungkook came out of the kitchen carrying another bowl filled with freshly cut fruits and placed it on the coffee table.

That's enough," Taehyung laughed. "I want to get up. I need to pee."
Jungkook immediately took the fruit bowl off Taehyung's stomach and helped him sit up before carefully pulling him to his feet.

Should I carry you?
Jungkook asked, gently caressing the side of Taehyung's belly before squishing his chubby cheeks.
He knew how much pressure Taehyung's body was under. The baby bump had become so heavy that even standing for a few minutes made Taehyung uncomfortable.
Jungkook slipped both hands under the big bump and lifted it a little to take some weight off Taehyung's back.
Taehyung instantly let out a relieved moan and rested his forehead against Jungkook's chest.

Oh, Lord... that feels so good."
Jungkook smiled proudly and kissed his cheeks.
Jungkook
Let's stay like this for a while, okay? Or you can just pee here. I'll clean the floor and change your clothes. I know you're tired, Mama."
Taehyung looked up at him with a small smile and kissed his chin.
Jungkook happily nuzzled his face into Taehyung's neck, taking a deep sniff

You smell like a baby," he mumbled with a grin.
A few seconds later, he felt something warm soaking his feet.
He looked down but didn't think much of it.

It's okay," he said softly. "I'll clean it."

Taehyung frowned and looked down too.
"Koo... wait."

It's okay, Baby Bear." Jungkook continued kissing his neck. "I got you."

No... Koo, wait. I think..."
Jungkook
"It's fine. Just stay still."
Taehyung
Taehyung tried to pull away.
"No, Koo, wai—"
Jungkook hugged him even tighter.
Finally, Taehyung smacked him on the shoulder.
Taehyung
"Will you fucking stop for one second? My water broke!"
Jungkook froze.
He slowly looked at Taehyung.
Then at the puddle on the floor.
Then back at Taehyung.
Taehyung immediately recognized that expression.
Taehyung
No... don't panic," he said, taking deep breaths through another contraction. "Koo, don't panic. Go drink some water first."
Jungkook nodded stiffly and walked to the dining table like a robot. He picked up a glass and took a sip, but his hands were shaking so badly that half the water spilled down his shirt.
His breathing became uneven.
His knees gave out, and he dropped to the floor.
Taehyung
Kook." Taehyung tried to stay calm even though another contraction made him wince. "Listen to me. Get the car keys. Get my hospital bag. You can do it. You're strong. You're brave."
Jungkook didn't move.
He was completely frozen.

JUNGKOOK!" Taehyung shouted.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

The yell snapped him out of it.
Jungkook burst into tears.
He grabbed the car keys, rushed to Taehyung, lifted him bridal style and ran all the way to the parking lot.

Koo... the bag..." Taehyung reminded him.
Jungkook carefully made Taehyung stand beside the car and sprinted back into the house. A few moments later, he came running out with the hospital bag, unlocked the car in record time, threw the bag onto the passenger seat, jumped into the driver's seat and sped out of the parking lot while crying his eyes out.
Taehyung stood there in complete silence.
One hand supported his heavy belly.
The other rested on his aching lower back.
He watched Jungkook's car disappear down the road.

For a whole five seconds, the parking lot was completely silent.
Then Taehyung sighed, pulled out his phone from his pocket and called his husband.

It was empty.

He bent down and looked underneath the car.

Before he could crawl any further, someone kicked him right on his butt.
Jungkook quickly turned around and looked up.
Taehyung stood there with one hand supporting his huge belly and the other on his waist, looking completely done with life.
The moment Jungkook saw him, tears filled his eyes again.

Tae!" He got up and hugged him carefully. "Where did you go? Don't roam around! Your water just broke!" he cried.
Taehyung stared at him with a blank face.
Taehyung
Oh, sorry. I got bored, so I went to play football."💅
Jungkook
It's okay... just don't do it again."
Taehyung slowly closed his eyes.

Without wasting another second, he carefully picked Taehyung up bridal style.
Jungkook hurried towards the hospital entrance while Taehyung rested his head on his shoulder, already mentally preparing himself.
Jungkook ran beside the hospital bed while holding onto the side rail, crying louder than the patient himself. Taehyung was breathing heavily as another contraction hit him, gripping the bed sheet in pain while the doctors rushed him towards the delivery room.

Jungkook cried, wiping Taehyung's tears with shaking hands even though his own face was already soaked.
As soon as they reached the delivery room, a nurse gently stopped Jungkook.
