Dominance Overthrown

Chapter 1: The Apex Falls

The marble floors of the Obsidian Citadel reflected the chandelier light like obsidian glass. Cassian "Cass" Vance walked through the grand hall with the absolute confidence of a man who had never met an equal, let alone a superior. As an Enigma, his very presence usually made Alphas bow their heads and Omegas tremble. He was the apex predator of the realm, a top who dictated every room he walked into.

Tonight, however, the grand gathering was convened for a different reason: the arrival of the Nightshade lineage.

Cass smoothed the velvet lapels of his suit, his sharp eyes scanning the high society members mingling near the balconies. Whispers filled the hall about Lucien "Lulu" Nightshade, the rare demon Omega whose story had already shaken the kingdoms due to his bond with the cursed Alpha prince, Kael. But Cass wasn't interested in rumors about cursed prince pairings. He was here to secure a territorial pact, and he expected everyone—regardless of their bloodline—to bend to his terms.

"You walk with heavy footsteps for a guest, Vance," a smooth, melodic voice called out.

Cass turned to see Lucien Nightshade standing near the grand staircase. Lucien had an ethereal, almost delicate grace, but his eyes held the sharp intelligence of someone who had survived the dark court's chaos.

"I walk like someone who owns his ground, Lucien," Cass replied, a smug smile tugging at his lips. "I hear your cursed prince is keeping you busy, but I'm here for business with the head of your house."

Lucien offered a small, knowing smile, adjusting the silver brooch on his collar. "If you are looking for my older brother, I suggest you lower your tone before he lowers it for you. Malakor does not share power, Cassian."

"Let him try to take it," Cass sneered softly, stepping past Lucien toward the private study at the end of the hall.

He pushed open the heavy oak doors without knocking, intending to set the tone immediately. The room was dimly lit, scented with cedarwood and a dark, suffocating ozone aura.

Standing by the stained-glass window was Malakor "Mal" Nightshade.

The moment Cass stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted violently. Malakor turned around slowly. He was taller, broader, and radiated an aura so thick it felt like liquid iron pressing down on Cass’s chest. Cassian braced himself, unleashing his own Enigma aura to counter the pressure—a display of dominance that had always brought others to their knees.

For a second, the two heavy forces clashed in midair, sending an invisible shiver through the room. But then, Malakor took a single step forward.

The sheer, overwhelming pressure of Malakor’s aura doubled, shattering Cass’s defenses in an instant. A wave of raw, terrifying dominance washed over Cass, causing his knees to buckle slightly before he caught himself on the edge of the mahogany desk. His heart hammered against his ribs as a strange, foreign sensation shot down his spine—a sudden, instinctual realization of absolute submission.

"You enter my sanctuary without permission, Cassian Vance," Malakor’s voice resonated, rich and terrifyingly calm as he closed the distance between them. "And you dare attempt to assert your authority over me?"

Cass looked up, his jaw tight, struggling to hold Malakor's intense gaze. For the first time in his life, the undisputed top felt completely, helplessly overpowered.

Chapter 2: The Weight of Authority

Cassian’s knuckles turned white as he gripped the edge of the mahogany desk, his breath hitching in his chest. His body, trained by years of undisputed supremacy, fought desperately against the invisible vise tightening around him. But Malakor’s aura wasn't just strong—it was absolute. It pressed down on Cassian’s shoulders like a physical weight, forcing a short, sharp gasp from his throat.

Malakor "Mal" Nightshade stepped closer, stopping only inches away. He towered over Cassian, his dark eyes locked onto the struggling Enigma below him.

"Look at me, Cassian," Malakor commanded softly. The tone wasn't raised, yet it carried an irresistible authority that made Cassian’s head snap up against his own will.

For the first time in his life, Cassian felt the dizzying rush of complete vulnerability. His Enigma instincts, usually wired to conquer and lead, were drowning in the shadow of a far greater apex. Heat flushed up his neck, a volatile mix of bruised pride and an terrifying, unbidden sense of surrender that made his pulse race wildly.

"I... came to negotiate," Cassian rasped, forcing the words through gritted teeth as he tried to stand upright. Every muscle in his frame burned from the strain of resisting Malakor's crushing presence.

Malakor let out a low, dark chuckle, tilting his head slightly as his gaze swept over Cassian's trembling form. "Negotiate? You came into my study expecting to command, Vance. But in this room, under my roof, you are not the one who dictates terms."

Before Cassian could formulate a response, the heavy oak doors clicked open behind them.

"Mal, the elders are asking for—"

Lucien "Lulu" Nightshade cut himself off as he stepped into the room, his eyes widening slightly as he took in the scene: Cassian pinned to the desk by sheer aura, flushed and breathless, while Malakor stood over him in total control.

A knowing smirk touched Lucien’s lips, though he quickly masked it with a polite bow toward his older brother. "My apologies for interrupting. It seems you two are already reaching an... understanding."

Malakor didn't break eye contact with Cassian, though the suffocating pressure in the room eased just enough to allow Cassian to draw a full breath into his aching lungs.

"We were just finishing our introductions, Lucien," Malakor said, his voice smooth as velvet, yet laced with an undeniable promise. He leaned down, his lips brushing past Cassian’s ear as he whispered low enough so only Cassian could hear. "We will discuss your terms later, Cass. When you've learned your proper place."

Cassian swallowed hard, his heart hammering against his ribs as Malakor finally stepped back, leaving him shaken, breathless, and utterly dominated.

[Reminder this chapter might have some mistakes so please don't mind it I'm back by the way guys I know I didn't go online for many months I guess and I didn't continue the chapter 32 of my novel I know it's end anyways back to the next chapter]

Chapter 3: Unspoken Yield

The heavy oak doors clicked shut as Lucien withdrew, leaving the room once again engulfed in a thick, suffocating silence. Cassian remained frozen against the edge of the desk, his fingers slowly uncurling from the dark wood. His chest heaved as air returned to his lungs, but the lingering residue of Malakor’s aura kept his body on high alert.

Malakor hadn't moved an inch away from his path to the desk. He stood with his hands tucked casually into his pockets, observing Cassian's recovery with sharp, calculating eyes.

"You look flushed, Cassian," Malakor remarked smoothly, his tone laced with dark amusement. "Is the climate in the Citadel too intense for you?"

Cassian pushed himself upright, his pride burning like fire beneath his skin. He adjusted the cuffs of his sleeves, trying to mask the slight tremor in his hands. "Your aura is impressive, Nightshade. But intimidation won't change the terms of the territory agreement. The Vance family holds the trade routes, and you need those routes open."

"I don't need anything from a man who can barely stand in my presence," Malakor replied, taking a slow step forward.

As Malakor closed the tiny gap between them, Cassian instinctively tried to step back, but his lower back bumped directly into the sturdy desk behind him. Trapped between the heavy wood and the imposing form of the elder Enigma, Cassian’s breath hitched again.

Malakor raised a hand, his long fingers gently catching Cassian by the chin. The touch was cool, yet it sent a sharp, electric jolt down Cassian's spine. With absolute, effortless force, Malakor tilted Cassian's face upward, forcing their eyes to lock.

"Let go," Cassian demanded softly, though the edge in his voice lacked its usual bite, betrayed by the rapid pulse fluttering at his neck.

"Why should I?" Malakor murmured, his thumb lightly tracing the line of Cassian’s jawline. "Your body already understands what your mind refuses to accept. You came here seeking a partnership, Cass, but you will leave here bound to my authority."

Cassian swallowed hard, staring into the dark expanse of Malakor's eyes. The realization washed over him with terrifying clarity—the shift had already occurred. The undisputed leader of the Vance lineage was no longer in control, and the night was far from over.
