The CEO's Unexpected Love

Chapter 1 : The Two Families

The golden morning sun rose over the bustling city of New York, its warm light reflecting off the glass towers that reached into the sky. It was another ordinary day for millions of people—but for two powerful families, it was the beginning of a journey that would change their lives forever.

The Wilson Family

Standing proudly in the city's most prestigious neighborhood was the magnificent Wilson Mansion. It was more than a luxurious home; it was a symbol of the Wilson family's success, built through years of dedication and hard work.

At the head of the family was Alexander Wilson (50), the respected Chairman of Wilson Group, one of the country's largest multinational companies. Known for his wisdom and fairness, he had earned the admiration of both employees and competitors.

His wife, Aurora Wilson (48), was elegant and kind. She believed that no matter how successful a family became, love and respect should always come first.

Their eldest child, Olivia Wilson (32), was warm-hearted and intelligent. She was happily married to Levis (35), a talented architect. Their daughters, Laura (7) and Lara (4), filled the mansion with laughter every day.

Their eldest son, Alex Wilson (30), had become the CEO of Wilson Group at a young age. Calm, disciplined, and brilliant, he was admired throughout the business world. Despite receiving countless marriage proposals from influential families, Alex remained focused on his company.

"Work comes first," he always told his friends.

The younger son, Lohen Wilson (28), was cheerful and adventurous. Unlike Alex, he enjoyed traveling and often made everyone laugh with his playful jokes.

The youngest daughter, Clara Wilson (24), was a loving mother to her little daughter, Luna (2). Although life had not always been easy for her, she remained strong, supported by her family's love.

Alex's closest friends, Neo (30) and Lucas (30), had known him since university. Neo was calm and thoughtful, while Lucas never failed to lighten the mood with his sense of humor.

That morning, the Wilson family gathered for breakfast.

"Alex," Alexander said while sipping his coffee, "the board meeting starts at nine. The Japanese investors have arrived."

"I've already reviewed the proposal," Alex replied confidently. "Everything is ready."

Aurora smiled proudly.

"Don't forget to eat properly. You're always too busy."

Alex smiled faintly.

"I will, Mom."

The Carter Family

On the other side of the city stood another grand estate—the elegant Carter Mansion.

The Carter family was equally famous throughout the business world. Their company, Carter Holdings, owned luxury hotels, international resorts, real estate, and financial investments around the world.

The chairman, Liam Carter (51), was respected for his honesty and leadership. His wife, Erin Carter (47), managed the family's charitable foundation, helping thousands of people every year.

Their eldest daughter, Serin Carter (27), served as Executive Director of Carter Hotels. Her husband, Lan Carter (29), was the Chief Financial Officer of Carter Holdings. Their little son, Daren (3), was the family's greatest source of joy.

Their eldest son, Leo Carter (23), had recently graduated from university and was preparing to join the family business.

The youngest child, Sarah Carter (19), was completely different from what most people expected of a billionaire's daughter.

She disliked showing off her wealth.

She preferred simple clothes, enjoyed spending time with friends, and wanted to build her own career without relying on her family's name.

Only a few people knew she was the future heiress of Carter Holdings.

Her best friends, Lucy and Ella, respected her decision to keep her identity a secret.

That morning, Sarah sat beside her parents at breakfast.

"So," Liam asked with a smile, "your internship begins next week."

Sarah nodded happily.

"Yes, Dad."

"Many companies would gladly hire you because of our name," Erin said gently.

Sarah shook her head.

"I don't want special treatment. I want people to recognize my abilities, not my family."

Liam smiled proudly.

"That's exactly why you'll succeed."

A Fate Yet to Unfold

At 8:45 a.m., Alex entered the towering headquarters of Wilson Group.

Employees immediately greeted him.

"Good morning, Mr. Wilson."

He nodded politely before stepping into the executive elevator.

At the very same moment, across the city, Sarah received an email confirming her internship placement.

She smiled brightly, unaware that the company she would soon join was Wilson Group.

Neither Alex nor Sarah knew that their paths were about to cross.

Sometimes, destiny begins with the smallest coincidence.

And sometimes...

It begins with a single meeting that changes everything.

Chapter 2: A New Beginning

The bright Monday morning marked the beginning of a new week.

Sarah Carter stood in front of the mirror in her room, dressed in a simple white blouse, a black blazer, and black trousers. She tied her long brown hair into a neat ponytail and took a deep breath.

"This is the first step toward my dream," she whispered with a smile.

Downstairs, the Carter family was already having breakfast.

"Good morning, everyone," Sarah greeted.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Erin replied with a warm smile.

Liam looked at his youngest daughter proudly.

"Today is your first day at Wilson Group. Remember, no matter what happens, stay humble and work hard."

"I will, Dad."

Leo smiled.

"If anyone bullies you, just call me."

Sarah laughed.

"I'll be fine."

Before leaving, Liam handed her a black bank card.

"In case you need anything."

Sarah smiled and gently pushed it back.

"I already have enough, Dad. I want to earn my own money."

Liam couldn't help but smile proudly.

Half an hour later...

Sarah arrived at the magnificent headquarters of Wilson Group.

The tall glass building reached high into the sky, with the company's silver logo shining above the entrance.

"So this is Wilson Group..."

She took a deep breath before walking inside.

The luxurious lobby was filled with employees in formal suits.

At the reception desk, a young woman smiled politely.

"Good morning. May I help you?"

"My name is Sarah Carter. I'm here for my internship."

"Welcome, Miss Sarah. Please wait a moment."

After completing the registration, Sarah received her visitor pass.

Soon, a Human Resources manager approached her.

"Welcome to Wilson Group. Follow me, please."

Sarah nodded.

Meanwhile...

On the top floor...

Inside the CEO's office...

Alex Wilson was reviewing several documents.

Neo knocked on the door.

"You've been working since six this morning."

Alex didn't even look up.

"There are still three meetings today."

Lucas walked in carrying two cups of coffee.

"You seriously need a vacation."

Alex smiled slightly.

"Maybe next year."

The three friends laughed.

Just then, Alex's secretary entered.

"Mr. Wilson, today's new interns have arrived."

Alex closed the file.

"I'll meet them after the morning meeting."

Back downstairs...

Sarah and the other interns were attending an orientation session.

"Our company values honesty, teamwork, and professionalism," the HR manager explained.

After the presentation, the interns were assigned to different departments.

When Sarah received her assignment letter, she looked at it in surprise.

Office of the CEO.

"CEO's Office? "

She blinked several times.

"Did they make a mistake?"

The HR manager smiled.

"No mistake. Congratulations. You'll be assisting the CEO's executive team."

Sarah swallowed nervously.

"I hope I don't embarrass myself..."

A few minutes later...

The elevator doors opened on the top executive floor.

Everything was quiet and elegant.

Sarah followed the secretary through the hallway.

Suddenly...

Another elevator opened.

A tall man wearing a perfectly tailored black suit walked out confidently.

Every employee immediately stood up.

"Good morning, Mr. Wilson."

"Good morning, CEO."

Sarah turned her head.

The man looked calm and serious.

His sharp eyes, confident posture, and quiet authority made everyone around him straighten their backs.

"Is... is that the CEO?" Sarah whispered.

Before she could move aside, one of her files slipped from her hands.

The papers scattered across the polished floor.

"Oh no!"

She quickly knelt to pick them up.

At that moment, a pair of polished black shoes stopped in front of her.

A hand reached down and picked up the last sheet of paper.

Sarah slowly looked up.

It was Alex Wilson.

Their eyes met for the very first time.

Alex handed the paper back to her.

"You should hold your files more carefully."

His voice was calm but firm.

Sarah quickly stood and accepted the paper.

"I-I'm sorry, sir."

Alex simply nodded before walking away toward his office.

Sarah watched him disappear down the hallway.

"So that's... Alex Wilson."

She had no idea that this brief encounter was only the beginning of a story that neither of them could have imagined.

Chapter 3 – The Cold CEO

The next morning, the city was already alive with the sounds of traffic as the sun reflected off the glass walls of Wilson Group's headquarters.

Sarah Carter stood outside the building for a moment, looking up at the towering skyscraper.

"This is really happening," she whispered, taking a deep breath. "Today is my first official day."

She adjusted her black blazer, checked that her employee ID was around her neck, and walked confidently into the lobby.

The receptionist smiled warmly.

"Good morning, Miss Sarah."

"Good morning."

"Mr. Wilson's office is expecting you. The executive elevator is on your right."

Sarah thanked her and stepped into the private elevator. As the doors closed, she could feel her heartbeat getting faster.

"I hope I don't make any mistakes..."

On the top floor, employees were already busy preparing for another hectic day.

Emma, the CEO's secretary, welcomed Sarah with a friendly smile.

"Good morning, Sarah."

"Good morning, Ms. Emma."

"You arrived twenty minutes early."

Sarah smiled shyly.

"My father always says it's better to arrive early than keep people waiting."

Emma nodded approvingly.

"That's a good habit."

She handed Sarah a notebook and a schedule.

"These are Mr. Wilson's meetings for today. You'll help me organize documents, prepare meeting rooms, and take notes when necessary."

Sarah carefully read through the schedule.

"Five meetings before lunch?"

Emma laughed softly.

"That's actually a light day for our CEO."

Sarah's eyes widened.

"A light day?"

Before Emma could answer...

Ding!

The executive elevator doors opened.

A tall man dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit stepped out.

Every employee immediately stood.

"Good morning, Mr. Wilson."

Alex gave a small nod.

"Good morning."

His expression remained calm and unreadable as he walked toward his office.

Sarah couldn't help watching him.

"So that's the famous CEO..."

He looked even more intimidating than she remembered.

Without saying another word, Alex

disappeared into his office.

Emma turned to Sarah.

"Come with me."

Emma knocked gently.

"Mr. Wilson, the new intern is here."

"Come in."

Sarah entered slowly.

The office was elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline.

Alex was reading several reports.

He didn't even look up.

"So... you're Sarah Carter."

"Yes, Mr. Wilson."

Several seconds passed.

The silence made Sarah nervous.

Finally, Alex closed the file and looked directly at her.

His sharp eyes studied her calmly.

"I've read your internship application."

Sarah waited quietly.

"You graduated near the top of your class."

"Yes, sir."

"That may impress universities."

He leaned back in his chair.

"But this is Wilson Group."

His voice was calm but firm.

"Here, your grades mean nothing. Your attitude, discipline, and work ethic are what matter."

Sarah nodded confidently.

"I understand, Mr. Wilson."

Alex placed a thick stack of files on the desk.

"These contracts need to be sorted, checked for errors, and organized before eleven o'clock."

Sarah looked at the pile.

There were far more documents than she had expected.

"I'll do my best."

Alex looked at her seriously.

"I didn't ask for your best."

Sarah blinked.

"I expect results."

For a moment, the room became completely silent.

Then Sarah smiled politely.

"You'll have them, sir."

Alex noticed her confidence but said nothing.

"You may begin."

Hours passed.

Sarah carefully checked every page.

She arranged contracts by date, corrected misplaced documents, and noticed several missing signatures.

She even reorganized the filing system to make it easier to locate important files.

Emma watched from outside the office.

"She's surprisingly organized."

Around eleven o'clock, Sarah knocked on Alex's office door.

"Come in."

She placed the completed files on his desk.

"They're finished, sir."

Alex began reviewing them.

Five minutes...

Ten minutes...

Sarah stood quietly without saying a word.

Finally...

Alex looked up.

"There are no mistakes."

Sarah smiled with relief.

"I'm glad everything is correct."

Alex nodded once.

"Good work."

Those two simple words surprised Sarah.

"Thank you, Mr. Wilson."

As she left the office, Lucas was waiting outside with Neo.

Lucas whispered dramatically,

"You survived."

Sarah looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

Neo smiled.

"Most interns don't last their first morning."

Lucas laughed.

"Some even cry."

Sarah couldn't help laughing.

"I don't think Mr. Wilson is that scary."

Just then...

Alex opened his office door.

The hallway immediately became silent.

Lucas scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"We were just talking about work."

Alex looked at all three of them.

"If you have enough time to chat, you have enough time to finish today's reports."

"Yes, Boss," Lucas answered with a grin.

As Alex walked away, Neo quietly smiled.

"Did you notice?"

"What?"

"He complimented her."

Lucas's eyes widened.

"You're right."

Both friends looked at Sarah.

Perhaps...

The cold CEO had finally met someone who could slowly break down the walls around his heart.
