A wolf does not bleed for fate; it bleeds for survival. It is only man who mistakes the snare for a crown.
The ancient texts of the wolf world held a single, absolute truth: Fate is a patient predator. It does not chase; it simply waits at the end of the road you thought you chose yourself.
Long before wolves ruled the lands of Seoul and Daegu, before clans carried their banners with pride and before True Bloods became legends whispered to pups beneath the silver moonlight, there existed only one certainty. The Moon Goddess never answered prayers born from greed. She answered those born from devotion. It was said that the ancestors of the Daegu Moon Clan spent years beneath the frozen sky, praying not for victory, nor wealth, but for a child worthy of carrying their dying legacy. On the final night of the winter solstice, the Moon Goddess finally answered.
A True Blood was born.
Since that night, the Moon Clan flourished beneath her blessing, their bloodline producing generations of Omegas revered as the cradle of life, carrying a legacy few could ever rival. Across the peninsula, another legacy rose. The Seoul Clan became the shield of the wolf world, raising generations of formidable Alphas whose names were etched into history through leadership rather than fear.
🌙 The Moon creates life.
⭐ The Star protects it.
For centuries, the balance held. The Moon Clan breathed life into the world, and the Star Clan stood as the unyielding armor before it. They were two halves of an ancient cosmos, designed to complement, to balance, to endure. Until the blood ran cold. Until a six-year-old child with striking blue eyes stood outside iron hospital gates in the freezing rain, screaming for help while his cousin bled out in his aunt's arms. Until a patriarch's ancient, bitter hatred for Betas closed those gates tightly shut.
And until that six-year-old boy looked through the cold iron bars and saw another child, a six-year-old True Blood Alpha with crimson eyes sitting safely inside a warm, polished car, holding a wooden toy, completely untouched by the carnage on the pavement outside.
Fate had written their dynamic long before the silver basin was ever forged.
The humans believed they had a choice. They believed hatred was a shield strong enough to break a biological pull. They believed pride could outlast the pulse of their own veins.
They were wrong.
The human mind remembers every debt, every tear, and every drop of spilled blood. But the inner wolf? The inner wolf knows no politics. It knows no grief. It knows no pride. It knows only the scent of its other half, and it will tear its host apart from the inside out to get to it.
Welcome to the quiet, bloody war between destiny and choice.

The stone arches of Canis Royal Academy rose against the crisp morning sky like an ancient fortress unwilling to bend to time. Carved from granite and draped in dark green ivy, CRA was where the country's most elite wolf bloodlines were sent to be polished, tested, and thrown into the deep end of pack politics. To the average student walking the marble corridors, it was a golden ticket. To Kim Taehyung, it was just an oversized daycare full of people who mistook loud growls for actual authority.
"Taehyung-ah! Slow down, you walking glacier! My legs aren't made of steel!"
Taehyung didn't break his stride, though the sharp corner of his mouth twitched before flattening back into his usual unbothered expression. He smoothed down the lapel of his tailored black coat, his leather boots clicking a steady rhythm against the stone tiles of the central courtyard. "If you walked half as fast as your mouth moves, Jimin, we'd already be inside," Taehyung said, his voice as smooth and cool as silk left out in the winter air. At nineteen, Taehyung was the kind of Omega that made entire rooms forget how to speak. He carried a breathtaking, almost ethereal beauty-sharp cheekbones, dark hair framing a porcelain face, and striking blue eyes that held a silver glint whenever he was pushed. But beneath that delicate, lethal exterior was a tactical mastermind. He didn't take orders, he didn't bow down to Alpha posturing, and he certainly didn't let anyone catch him slipping.
"You're always so dramatic before noon," Jimin huffed, catching up and slinging an arm through Taehyung's. Then, as his eyes drifted toward the stone fountain near the library steps, Jimin froze. His plum scent instantly blossomed into something sweet and utterly embarrassing. "Oh. Oh. Look who's here." Taehyung didn't even bother turning his head. "Jimin. No." "Look at him, Tae! Dark grey sweater. Rolled-up sleeves. Do you know what dark grey does to his shoulders? It's literally an attack on my peace of mind."
Standing near the fountain was Min Yoongi-a quiet, formidable Alpha from the Seoul Star Clan, leaning casually against the stone ledge while scanning a ledger. Next to him stood Jung Hoseok, a cheerful Beta whose easy laugh carried across the lawn, and Kim Kai, a sharp, broad-shouldered Alpha stretching his neck. Jimin was, by every definition of the word, down bad. He had been in the softest, most agonizing 'talking stage' with Yoongi for months, flirting with zero shame every single time they crossed paths.
"If you stare any harder, he's going to combust," Taehyung murmured, tugging Jimin by the elbow. "Have some pride. We're from the Daegu Moon Clan."
"Pride doesn't warm my bed at night, Tae," Jimin whispered, suddenly breaking away to wave dramatically across the quad. "Good morning, Yoongals! You look like you slept well! Or were you busy thinking about me?"
Across the courtyard, Yoongi caught Jimin's eye. The calm, unreadable Alpha instantly stiffened. His ears turned a bright, furious red, and he coughed into his elbow, looking away so fast he almost dropped his ledger. Hoseok burst out laughing, clapping Yoongi on the back while Kai grinned and shook his head. "See?" Jimin smirked, looking absurdly proud of himself. "He loves me."
"He looks like he wants the ground to swallow him whole," Taehyung sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. For all his icy authority, dealing with Jimin's shameless romance always cracked Taehyung's composure, leaving him faintly flushed and thoroughly exasperated. "You're exhausting. Truly."
"And you're a robot. Now come on-oh, wait. Never mind. The mood just died." Taehyung's posture straightened instantly. Walking up the main path, flanked by Kim Namjoon-the tall, broad-shouldered Alpha who looked like a diplomat right up until he almost tripped over a low stone edge was the one person who could make Taehyung's blood boil in under three seconds.
Jeon Jungkook.
The nineteen-year-old True Blood Alpha of the Seoul Star Clan walked with an effortless, masculine grace. He wasn't a heavily bulked bodybuilder, but his frame was broad, solid, and packed with dense, athletic muscle that moved with dangerous precision beneath his dark jacket. They weren't twenty yet, and neither of them had the faintest idea what a true mate bond felt like. Their inner wolves didn't recognize each other-they only recognized an enemy. To Jungkook's Alpha, Taehyung was an arrogant, sharp-tongued Omega who needed his pride taken down a notch. To Taehyung's Omega, Jungkook was a loud, overbearing Alpha who represented a family line he fundamentally despised.
Where Taehyung was winter ice, Jungkook was an unyielding summer fire. And the moment their eyes locked across the archway, the temperature in the quad plunged. "You're standing in the middle of the walkway, Jeon," Taehyung drawled, stopping right in front of the central path, refusing to yield an inch. "Move."
Jungkook stopped two feet away. His crimson eyes glinted warmly, his jaw clenching as he took in Taehyung's smug, breathtaking face. Jungkook was usually calm. He ignored campus gossip, didn't care about petty slights, and let things roll off his back. But Kim Taehyung had a PhD in pushing his exact buttons. "The archway is eight feet wide, Taehyung," Jungkook growled, his voice dropping into a raspy, low register. "Walk around."
"I don't walk around obstacles," Taehyung smirked, tilting his head up. "I expect them to clear out. Or are your legs as slow as your clan's decision-making?"
"Watch your mouth," Jungkook snapped, instantly ragebaited, taking a step into Taehyung's space. "You think because you're a True Blood Omega you can just talk down to everyone here?"
"Not everyone," Taehyung purred, his blue eyes flashing silver. "Just you. You make it far too easy."
"Taehyung, I swear to God-"
"All right! break it up before I smack both of your heads together!"
A loud, rapid-fire voice cut through the air like a whip. Kim Seokjin marched out from the main building, looking immaculate in a cream-colored silk coat. As a senior True Omega from the Daegu Clan, Jin was like an older brother to Taehyung. He had practically raised him through elementary and high school-feeding him, scolding him, and keeping him from burning the world down with his sarcasm.
Behind Jin shuffled Namjoon, looking thoroughly intimidated and holding two iced coffees with extreme care. "Jungkook-ah! Put that growl back in your throat before I smack the back of your head!" Jin scolded, stepping directly between the two True Bloods without a shred of fear. "And you, Kim Taehyung! What did I tell you about provoking people before breakfast?! You do this on purpose! You poke the dog, the dog barks, and then I have to sit through lunch listening to you complain about a headache!"
Jungkook immediately took a step back, coughing into his fist. "Hyung, he literally started it-" "I don't care if he started it, built it, or signed the lease on it, I am finishing it!" Jin barked, turning his sharp gaze onto Namjoon. "And Namjoon! Why are you standing there like a statue? Did you spill the hazelnut syrup again?!"
"No, Jin, I swear!" Namjoon stammered, holding the cups out like peace offerings. "I didn't even tilt the tray! Look! Zero spills!" "It better be zero," Jin huffed, snatching his cup and taking a sip. His face softened for a split second before he turned back to glare at the two nineteen-year-olds. "If I hear one more word out of either of you before the noon assembly, I am locking you both in the storage room until you learn how to act like civilized wolves. Move!"
Jungkook grumbled something under his breath, turning his face away, while Taehyung rolled his eyes, smoothing down his coat once more. "Taehyung-ah!" A calm, steady voice called out from the balcony above. Min Sana, a senior Beta from the Daegu Clan and Taehyung's trusted mentor, leaned over the stone railing with a digital tablet in hand.
"The Dean approved our budget for the cultural exhibition," Sana called down, offering Jin a polite nod before looking at Taehyung. "I need your review before the faculty sign-off." "I'll be right up, noona," Taehyung replied, his tone shifting instantly from razor-sharp sarcasm to genuine respect. He gave Sana a quick nod before turning his gaze back to Jungkook one last time. The cocky smirk returned to his lips, smooth and insufferable.
"Try not to trip over your own feet today, Jeon," Taehyung whispered,
stepping past him. "It would be bad for the Star Clan's reputation."
Before Jungkook could bark back a response, Taehyung turned on his heel and walked up the grand staircase, his black coat fluttering behind him. Jimin gave Yoongi one last dramatic, heart-eyes glance before scurrying up the steps after his friend. Jungkook stood at the base of the stairs, his chest heaving, his red eyes burning as he watched the Omega vanish through the heavy oak doors.
"Man," Kai chuckled softly from behind, leaning against the archway. "He really knows how to pull your pin, doesn't he?"
"Shut up, Kai," Jungkook gritted out, dragging a hand aggressively through his dark hair. "He's an absolute nightmare. Fuck that asshole!"
Up on the second floor, safe inside the student council office, Taehyung closed the door behind him and leaned back against the wood for a brief second. "You look flushed," Sana noted from her desk, not looking up from her tablet. "Did Jin-ssi yell at you again?" "No," Taehyung muttered, crossing his arms and huffing out a breath. "Just... Jeon being a freaking pain in the ass."
Sana smiled faintly, shaking her head as she pushed a stack of files toward him. "Well, keep your head in the game, kid. The joint clan elders are coming to campus next week for the pre-ceremony prep. You need to be focused." Taehyung's posture straightened instantly, his blue eyes clearing into cold, analytical silver once more. The temporary flush faded from his face, replaced by that familiar, unyielding steel. "I'm always focused, Noona," Taehyung said softly, picking up the top pen from the desk. "Always."
