The loud sound of an alarm filled the small apartment.
"Seo Joon! Wake up!" Kang Min shouted from the kitchen.
Seo Joon slowly opened one eye and smiled. "Good morning, my beautiful wife."
"I told you not to call me that!" Kang Min replied, glaring at him.
Seo Joon laughed and walked into the kitchen with messy hair. Without warning, he hugged Kang Min from behind.
"Let go! I'm making breakfast," Kang Min said, trying to hide the blush on his face.
"But I missed you," Seo Joon whispered.
"You were sleeping next to me all night."
"Still counts."
Kang Min sighed and placed a plate of toast and eggs on the table.
"Hurry up. We'll be late for work."
Seo Joon grinned. "Yes, Wife."
Kang Min rolled his eyes, but a tiny smile appeared on his lips before he quickly looked away.
Another normal morning had begun for the middle-class married couple—one always smiling, the other always pretending to be angry.
Seo Joon finished getting ready and picked up his bag.
"I'm leaving!" he called out.
Kang Min was washing the dishes without even turning around.
"Bye."
Seo Joon pouted. "That's it? Your husband is going to work, and you won't even give me a goodbye kiss?"
Kang Min sighed. "You're only going to the office, not to another country."
"But I'll miss you."
"You'll be back in eight hours."
Seo Joon walked over with a dramatic expression. "Eight hours without seeing my handsome husband? That's torture."
"You are so dramatic," Kang Min muttered.
Seo Joon leaned closer and pointed at his cheek.
"One kiss."
"No."
"Half a kiss?"
"No."
"I won't leave until you kiss me."
Kang Min stared at him for a few seconds before letting out a tired sigh.
"You really are impossible."
He grabbed Seo Joon by the collar and quickly kissed his lips.
"There. Happy?"
Seo Joon's eyes sparkled.
"Very happy! My wife loves me so much."
"I do not."
"You just kissed me."
"Now get out before I change my mind."
Seo Joon laughed, stole one more quick kiss, and ran to the door.
"Love you!"
"Drive safely," Kang Min replied quietly.
Seo Joon froze for a second, smiled warmly, and waved before leaving.
As soon as the door closed, Kang Min touched his own lips and mumbled with red cheeks,
"That idiot..."
A few minutes later, Seo Joon suddenly rushed back into the apartment.
Kang Min frowned. "Why are you back?"
Seo Joon scratched his head with an embarrassed smile.
"I forgot my wallet."
Kang Min looked at the wallet sitting on the table, picked it up, and lightly smacked Seo Joon's shoulder with it.
"I knew it. You're hopeless."
Seo Joon laughed. "Maybe... but I'm your hopeless husband."
Kang Min tried not to smile, but the corners of his lips lifted anyway.
Seo Joon finally left the apartment, humming happily on his way to work.
As soon as he reached the bus stop, his phone buzzed.
Kang Min: Did you take your lunch box?
Seo Joon looked inside his bag and froze.
"...Oops."
He quickly replied.
Seo Joon: No.
A few seconds later, his phone rang.
"You forgot your lunch again?" Kang Min asked in an annoyed voice.
"I was too busy thinking about your kiss."
"You're unbelievable."
"So... will you bring it to me?"
"No."
"...Really?"
"I said no."
The call ended.
Seo Joon sighed dramatically. "My wife is so cruel."
Thirty minutes later, while Seo Joon was working, someone placed a lunch box on his desk.
He looked up and smiled brightly.
"Kang Min!"
Kang Min crossed his arms.
"You forgot this. Don't expect me to do this every day."
Seo Joon grinned. "I knew you couldn't stop worrying about me."
"I came because I didn't want you to starve."
"Same thing."
Kang Min lightly flicked Seo Joon's forehead.
"Idiot."
Seo Joon laughed and suddenly held Kang Min's hand.
"My wife came all the way here just for me. I'm so lucky."
Kang Min quickly pulled his hand back, noticing everyone in the office staring at them.
"Stop saying embarrassing things."
One of Seo Joon's coworkers chuckled.
"So this is your famous grumpy husband?"
Kang Min looked at Seo Joon with narrowed eyes.
"Famous?"
Seo Joon scratched his head nervously.
"I... may have talked about you a little."
"A little?"
"Maybe... every day."
Kang Min sighed in defeat while the coworkers burst into laughter.
"You really are impossible, Seo Joon."
"But you still love me."
"...Eat your lunch before it gets cold."
Seo Joon smiled from ear to ear. Even though Kang Min always acted strict, he never failed to take care of him.
