That was why they had come here
The doctors had told her to rest for the remaining two months of her pregnancy . The palace was always busy , always filled with people , so her husband , the king brought her somewhere peaceful where she could rest before the baby arrived
No one thought the baby would come early
A sharp pain tore through her body
She grabbed the bedsheet tightly , trying not to scream

The maid rushed to her side , panic written all over her face

No one knew what to do ..
The maid helped her onto the bed as another painful contraction came .
The room was filled with cries ; prayers and fear
The maid wrapped the tiny baby on a blanket before placing her carefully in her mother's arms

The woman looked down at the tiny face resting against her chest . Tears filled her eyes

With trembling hands , she removed the blue emerald pendant from around her neck and gently tied it around her daughter's neck

Her maid in tears sobbing heavily as she watches the supposed final moments of her employer ..

A tear rolled down her cheek , she pressed a soft final kiss to her cheek as her eyes slowly closed

The maid stared down at the tiny baby in her arms
Her cries had already faded into weak little whimpers , and her tiny body barely moved beneath the blanket

She won't survive 💭
The thought frightened her at first . Then another thought followed
Her daughter was healthy . She was being cared for somewhere just as the maud had arranged before returning to the palace
No one even knew she existed
She had hidden her pregnancy carefully , taking a leave before her belly became noticeable
After giving birth , she had waited a few weeks before returning to work
Her employers had always treated her kindly , but she couldn't bring herself to tell them the truth
The child's father was a driver.
He had made it clear that he wasn't prepared to take responsibility for a child he didn't want
And the maid couldn't bear the thought of watching her daughter grow up struggling for everything
The maid looked down at the baby again
