Bounded by Pulse -BL-
A Glimpse
Author's Note 🖤:
This story was created for fun and is based on my own original storyline, characters, and creative ideas. AI tools were used to assist with drafting, wording, grammar, and editing. I reviewed and edited the final chapters before publishing.
I know that writing a book usually means putting your emotions, thoughts, and a piece of yourself into every chapter. But I want to remind you that Bounded by Pulse was originally just a fun story I created because I wanted to try writing something different.
Since the story turned out better than I expected, I thought… why not share it? 😭 So here it is! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating it 🖤✨

The Mafia Lord, Devansh Oberoi
They were never supposed to cross paths-
But fate has its own pulse!
Now, let the story begin.

The upper penthouse of the Oberoi Tower didn't just overlook the city’s glowing skyline, it looked down on it like a king inspecting his domain.
At thirty-two, Devansh Oberoi, known simply as Dev to those who feared him and Sir to those who valued their lives, held the city in an iron grip.
As the head of the Oberoi syndicate, he operated in a world of high-stakes corporate power plays, whispered threats in dimly lit private clubs, and absolute control.
Dev stood by the floor-to-ceiling glass panel, swirling two fingers of vintage scotch in a crystal tumbler.
He wore a tailored charcoal gray suit, the jacket open to reveal a crisp black shirt with the top two buttons undone
A faint, razor-thin scar ran along the curve of his sharp jawline, a quiet souvenir from a rival boss who had made the fatal mistake of underestimating him
Vikram
The shipment from the docks cleared, Boss!
His right hand man, Vikram, said, bowing his head slightly as he stepped into the suite!
Vikram
No interference. The local syndicate paid their dues without a single murmur.
Dev turned slowly, an amused, cocky smirk playing on his lips. Dark, piercing eyes locked onto Vikram.
Devansh Oberoi
Of course, they did!
Dev said, his deep voice carrying a smooth, dangerous confidence
Devansh Oberoi
They like breathing too much to argue with me. What about the rival turf in the East Coast district?
Vikram
Taking longer than expected, Boss. They're hesitant!
Dev chuckled softly, setting his tumbler down on the obsidian desk
He walked over, clapping a heavy, deliberate hand on Vikram’s shoulder.
Devansh Oberoi
Give them 48 hours, Vik. I’m a generous man. But if they don't hand over the keys by Friday...
Dev’s smirk sharpened, eyes flashing with cold intent.
Devansh Oberoi
...we remind them who owns the air they breathe!
Dev loved the power. He loved the adrenaline.
In a world built on chaos and deceit, he was the undisputed master.
Women swooned over his brooding, effortless charm, men bowed out of terror.
He got whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, and he had never met a force strong enough to shake his foundation!

Miles away, bathed in the harsh white glare of fluorescent hallway lights, Yuvaan Sharma was in the middle of a very different kind of chaos.
"Dr. Yuvi! Bed 4 needs a central line!"
"Dr. Sharma, the lab results for the trauma patient are in!"
"Yuvi-ah, did you take my coffee again?!"
Dr.Yuvaan Sharma
Coming! Coming! And no, Priya, I took my own coffee! Yours tastes like battery acid!
Yuvaan shouted back with a radiant, dimpled grin that instantly softened the stress hovering in the ER.
At twenty-seven, Yuvaan (Yuvi) was the light of City General Hospital.
A bright, brilliant ER doctor with unruly dark hair, expressive hazel eyes, and a heart far too large for his own good, Yuvi lived his life in hyperdrive.
He was the definition of sunshine, warm, empathetic, teasing, and effortlessly charming.
Ananya
You look like a zombie, Yuvi
His fellow doctor, Ananya, teased, tossing a clipboard into his hands
Ananya
When was the last time you slept? Or took a girl out on a proper date?
Yuvi laughed, slinging his stethoscope around his neck with a practiced flourish.
Dr.Yuvaan Sharma
Hey, I had a great date last week! Riya from Cardiology.
Dr.Yuvaan Sharma
And she’s lovely, but she said I talked about organ pathology too much during dinner!
Yuvi said, scratching the back of his neck with a goofy smile.
Dr.Yuvaan Sharma
Look, I'm a simple guy! I like good food, saving lives, and pretty girls. Is that so wrong?
Ananya chuckled, shaking her head.
Ananya
Yuvi, you're hopeless. You know half the male nursing staff and half the male residents back in med school were hopelessly in love with you too, right? You were literally named 'Most Likely to Unintentionally Break Hearts'!
Yuvi blinked, waving a hand airily as if sweeping the thought out of the air.
Dr.Yuvaan Sharma
Oh, come on!
Yuvi grinned, slinging an arm around Ananya's shoulder playfully.
Dr.Yuvaan Sharma
Guys just like hanging out with me because I’m great at video games and buy the first round of beer. I’m 100% straight, my friend. Purely a ladies' man, even if I'm currently single because ER shifts are a terrible wingman.
To Yuvi, his sexuality had never even been a question.
Sure, guys flirted with him all the time! Back in high school, he used to get anonymous love notes from both boys and girls, but Yuvi always brushed the male attention off as friendly banter or harmless teasing.
He was just a warm, friendly guy whom everyone liked being around.
Ananya
Alright, Sunshine, back to work!
Ananya smiled, pushing him toward the bay doors.
Ananya
Trauma incoming in five minutes!
Yuvi called back, adjusting his scrubs, his expression shifting from carefree playfulness to absolute, laser focused dedication in a split second.
That night, two distinct routine rituals unfolded across the city.
In a private VIP lounge hidden behind a velvet curtain, Dev sat surrounded by his inner circle. Smoke curled from a cigar between his fingers. He listened to the hum of power, completely unchallenged, bored by how easily the world bent to his will.
Dev thought, leaning back into the leather couch with that familiar, arrogant tilt of his chin.
*Everyone breaks eventually*
Meanwhile, in the hospital breakroom, Yuvi sat on a squeaky vinyl chair, eating cold takeout noodles with plastic chopsticks, laughing with a tired nurse over a silly meme on his phone.
He wiped sweat off his forehead, exhausted down to his bones, yet his eyes shone with pure, unyielding warmth.
Two men living in completely opposite realities:
One who ruled through fear and control; one who lived to heal and care.
One who believed he owned everything; one who believed he had his whole life completely figured out.
Neither knew that in just a few short weeks, a bloody night on the city border would tear their separate worlds apart and force them into the same tiny room.
