The Tale of Nokdu — BL Version
Episode 1: The Wrong Room
NIGHT — THE VILLAGE
The village had finally fallen quiet.
Moonlight spilled across the wooden rooftops, while the faint sound of laughter came from one of the rooms.
Inside, Nokdu sat among several of his female friends, a cup of wine in his hand.
“Just one more,” Nokdu said, reaching for the bottle.
His friends immediately laughed.
“You've already had enough!”
“I haven't,” Nokdu replied confidently.
He took another drink.
A few moments later, Nokdu was clearly drunk.
His cheeks were flushed, his eyes half-lidded, and he was struggling to sit straight.
One of the women shook her head.
“Go to sleep, Nokdu.”
“I need more wine.”
“You can barely walk.”
Nokdu stood up anyway.
“I'll get it myself.”
He stumbled toward the door.
ELSEWHERE — LORD CHO'S ROOM
Lord Cho sat quietly beside a small table, reading by candlelight.
The room was silent.
He heard footsteps outside.
Tap.
Tap.
The door suddenly opened.
Lord Cho looked up.
His expression immediately changed.
A woman was standing in his doorway.
Or at least, that's what he thought.
“What are you doing here?”
Nokdu blinked at him.
For several seconds, he simply stared.
Then he smiled.
“Lord Cho…”
Cho frowned.
“Why are you in my room?”
Nokdu ignored the question.
“Do you have more alcohol?”
Cho stared at him in disbelief.
“You came into the wrong room just to ask me for alcohol?”
Nokdu nodded seriously.
“Yes.”
Cho sighed.
“Unbelievable.”
He turned toward the cabinet.
“Wait here.”
Nokdu remained standing in the middle of the room, watching him.
Cho reached for a bottle.
But before he could turn around—
Nokdu took a few unsteady steps forward.
Cho turned.
They were suddenly standing much closer than either expected.
Cho froze.
“Nokdu…”
Nokdu looked directly into his eyes.
For once, there was no teasing smile on his face.
Just a strange, drunken softness.
“Lord Cho…”
“What?”
Nokdu leaned closer.
Cho's eyes widened.
“Nokdu, you're drunk.”
But Nokdu didn't seem to hear him.
He moved forward—
—and their lips briefly met.
Cho went completely still.
The bottle slipped slightly in his hand.
Nokdu pulled back just enough to look at him, apparently confused by his own actions.
Neither of them spoke.
The candle flame flickered between them.
Cho stared at Nokdu in complete shock.
Nokdu whispered—
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
CUT TO BLACK.

The Tale of Nokdu — BL Version
Episode 2: The Morning Disaster
MORNING — LORD CHO'S ROOM
Sunlight entered through the window.
Lord Cho sat perfectly straight at the table.
He had not slept.
Not because of anything important.
Absolutely not.
He simply kept remembering one particular moment from last night.
He touched his lips briefly.
Then immediately pulled his hand away.
“What am I doing?”
Before he could think any further—
BANG!
The door flew open.
Nokdu stumbled inside.
“Lord Cho…”
Cho nearly jumped out of his chair.
“What are you doing here?!”
Nokdu held his head.
“My head is killing me.”
“You deserve it.”
Nokdu looked offended.
“That's a very cruel thing to say to someone suffering.”
“You drank enough alcohol to drown a horse.”
Nokdu thought about it.
“…Was the horse drinking with me?”
Cho stared at him.
“No.”
“Oh.”
Nokdu slowly sat down.
Then he looked around.
“Wait…”
His eyes widened.
“Why am I in your room?”
Cho's face became serious.
“You came here last night.”
Nokdu gasped.
“I did?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“You wanted alcohol.”
Nokdu nodded proudly.
“That sounds like me.”
Cho sighed.
Then Nokdu suddenly leaned forward.
“Did I say anything embarrassing?”
Cho went silent.
“You said many things.”
“What things?”
“You told me my room was boring.”
Nokdu covered his mouth.
“I said that?!”
“You also said my face looked angry.”
Nokdu stared at him.
“…It does.”
Cho's eyebrow twitched.
“And you stole my pillow.”
Nokdu looked horrified.
“I did WHAT?”
“You slept on it.”
“Oh.”
Nokdu relaxed.
“That isn't so bad.”
Cho stared at him.
“You also…”
He stopped.
Nokdu waited.
“Also what?”
Cho looked away.
“Nothing.”
Nokdu narrowed his eyes.
“Lord Cho.”
“What?”
“You're definitely hiding something.”
“I am not.”
“You are.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
Cho stood up.
“Leave.”
Nokdu stood too.
“Why?”
“Because you're annoying.”
Nokdu smiled.
“You were nicer to me last night.”
Cho froze.
Nokdu tilted his head.
“Were you?”
Cho quickly turned away.
“You were drunk. You don't remember.”
Nokdu's smile disappeared.
“I don't?”
Cho looked at him.
“No.”
Nokdu stared at him for a moment.
Then suddenly smiled again.
“Good.”
Cho frowned.
“Good?”
“Yes. That means I can pretend I didn't embarrass myself.”
Cho muttered under his breath—
“You did much more than embarrass yourself.”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
---
OUTSIDE
Nokdu's female friends were waiting nearby.
The moment Nokdu walked out, they surrounded him.
“WHERE WERE YOU?”
Nokdu jumped.
“Why are you shouting?!”
“You disappeared last night!”
“I went to get alcohol.”
“You were gone for hours!”
Nokdu scratched his head.
“I found Lord Cho.”
His friends immediately exchanged looks.
“Ooooooh…”
Nokdu frowned.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Why are you smiling?”
“Nothing.”
“You're definitely hiding something.”
One of them whispered to another—
“Do you think he remembers?”
Nokdu turned.
“Remembers what?”
They all immediately looked away.
“Nothing!”
Nokdu became suspicious.
“Why is everyone saying 'nothing' today?”
---
LORD CHO — WATCHING FROM A DISTANCE
Cho watched the entire conversation.
One of the women suddenly pointed toward him.
“Lord Cho!”
Cho immediately turned around.
“Why me?”
Nokdu looked at him.
Their eyes met.
Nokdu smiled.
Cho quickly looked away.
Nokdu walked toward him.
“Lord Cho!”
“What?”
“Did I really sleep in your room last night?”
“Yes.”
“Did I say anything strange?”
Cho hesitated.
“Yes.”
“What?”
Cho looked directly into his eyes.
“You said…”
He paused.
Nokdu waited.
“You said you liked my…”
Cho stopped himself.
Nokdu leaned closer.
“Your what?”
Cho's face became slightly red.
“My wine.”
Nokdu blinked.
“…That's it?”
“Yes.”
Nokdu smiled.
“Then why are you blushing?”
Cho immediately turned around.
“I am not.”
“You are!”
“I am not!”
“You definitely are!”
Behind them, Nokdu's friends were struggling not to laugh.
One whispered—
“This is better than the village theatre.”
Another replied—
“Quiet! Don't ruin it!”
Nokdu suddenly called out—
“I HEARD THAT!”
Everyone froze.
Cho closed his eyes.
“This is going to be a very long day.”
CUT TO BLACK.

NOKDU:
“Why does my head feel like someone hit me with a rock?”
One of the women looks at him.
WOMAN:
“You drank almost an entire bottle last night.”
Nokdu sits up quickly.
NOKDU:
“Wait… what happened last night?”
The women look at each other and start laughing.
NOKDU:
“Why are you laughing?!”
WOMAN:
“You were talking about Lord Cho.”
Nokdu freezes.
NOKDU:
“…What did I say?”
WOMAN:
“You said his eyes were beautiful.”
Nokdu covers his face.
NOKDU:
“No…”
WOMAN:
“And then you said…”
She pauses dramatically.
NOKDU:
“What?!”

“You said you wanted to see him again.”
Nokdu slowly pulls the blanket over his head.
NOKDU:
“I am never drinking again.”

Scene 2 — Lord Cho Remembers
Meanwhile, Lord Cho sits quietly beside a window.
In his hand is the little flower Nokdu had given him the previous night.
He looks at it.
A faint smile appears on his face.
His servant notices.
SERVANT:
“My lord?”
Lord Cho immediately becomes serious.
LORD CHO:
“What?”
SERVANT:
“You've been staring at that flower for ten minutes.”
Lord Cho looks down.
LORD CHO:
“It is an interesting flower.”
SERVANT:
“Of course.”
The servant walks away, trying not to laugh.
Lord Cho looks at the flower again.
He quietly remembers Nokdu's drunken voice.
"Your eyes are beautiful..."
His smile returns.
---
Scene 3 — Their First Meeting
Later that morning, Nokdu walks through the village.
He suddenly sees Lord Cho.
Nokdu immediately turns around.
NOKDU:
“No. Absolutely not.”
LORD CHO:
“Nokdu.”
Nokdu stops.
Slowly, he turns around.
NOKDU:
“My lord.”
Lord Cho walks closer.
LORD CHO:
“Do you remember last night?”
Nokdu looks everywhere except at him.
NOKDU:
“No.”
LORD CHO:
“You don't?”
NOKDU:
“No.”
Lord Cho steps closer.
LORD CHO:
“You told me I was handsome.”
Nokdu's face turns red.
NOKDU:
“I was drunk.”
Lord Cho takes another step.
LORD CHO:
“You said my eyes were beautiful.”
Nokdu looks at him.
Their eyes meet.
For a moment, Nokdu forgets what he was going to say.
NOKDU:
“…I was very drunk.”
Lord Cho smiles softly.
LORD CHO:
“Perhaps.”
He walks past him.
Nokdu watches him leave.
Then he quietly touches his own chest.
NOKDU:
“Why is my heart beating so fast?”
---
Scene 4 — Jealous Lord Cho
Nokdu later meets a young man from the village.
The young man smiles and hands Nokdu a small flower.
YOUNG MAN:
“I saw this and thought of you.”
Nokdu smiles.
NOKDU:
“It's beautiful. Thank you.”
From across the courtyard, Lord Cho sees everything.
His expression becomes noticeably colder.
His servant looks at him.
SERVANT:
“My lord…”
LORD CHO:
“What?”
SERVANT:
“Your face.”
LORD CHO:
“What about it?”
SERVANT:
“You look like you're about to declare war.”
Lord Cho says nothing.
He simply walks toward them.
Nokdu notices him.
NOKDU:
“My lord?”
Lord Cho looks at the flower in Nokdu's hand.
LORD CHO:
“That's a nice flower.”
NOKDU:
“Yes. He gave it to me.”
Lord Cho pauses.
LORD CHO:
“I see.”
He takes the flower gently from Nokdu's hand.
NOKDU:
“Hey!”
Lord Cho looks at him.
LORD CHO:
“I'll keep it.”
NOKDU:
“Why?”
Lord Cho leans slightly closer.
LORD CHO:
“Because I don't like seeing you receive flowers from other men.”
Nokdu's eyes widen.
NOKDU:
“Are you jealous?”
Lord Cho looks directly into his eyes.
LORD CHO:
“Maybe.”
Nokdu suddenly becomes speechless.
---
Scene 5 — Under the Moonlight
That night, Nokdu can't sleep.
He walks outside.
The moon is bright.
He hears footsteps behind him.
He turns.
Lord Cho is standing there.
NOKDU:
“You again?”
LORD CHO:
“You seem disappointed.”
Nokdu smiles.
NOKDU:
“Maybe I'm not.”
Lord Cho walks closer.
LORD CHO:
“Why are you awake?”
Nokdu looks toward the moon.
NOKDU:
“I couldn't sleep.”
LORD CHO:
“Why?”
Nokdu looks at him.
NOKDU:
“I was thinking.”
LORD CHO:
“About what?”
Nokdu hesitates.
NOKDU:
“…About you.”
Lord Cho becomes completely still.
Nokdu realizes what he said.
NOKDU:
“I mean—”
Lord Cho smiles.
LORD CHO:
“You were thinking about me?”
Nokdu looks away.
NOKDU:
“Don't make me say it again.”
Lord Cho steps closer.
LORD CHO:
“Then don't.”
They stand quietly.
The wind moves through the trees.
Nokdu looks at him.
NOKDU:
“Why do you keep looking at me like that?”
LORD CHO:
“Like what?”
NOKDU:
“Like…”
Nokdu struggles to find the words.
NOKDU:
“Like I'm important to you.”
Lord Cho's expression softens.
He gently reaches toward Nokdu's face and removes a small leaf caught in his hair.
Nokdu freezes.
Their faces are very close.
LORD CHO:
“Maybe you are.”
Nokdu's heart races.
NOKDU:
“Lord Cho…”
Neither of them moves.
Lord Cho's hand remains near Nokdu's face.
Nokdu slowly smiles.
NOKDU:
“Are you always this bold?”
LORD CHO:
“Only with you.”
Nokdu looks down, embarrassed.
NOKDU:
“You're making it very difficult for me to pretend I don't like you.”
Lord Cho's eyes soften.
LORD CHO:
“Then don't pretend.”
Nokdu looks back at him.
For a moment, it feels like Lord Cho might say something more.
But suddenly—
CRASH!
They both turn.
A woman falls out of a bush.
WOMAN:
“I'M SORRY!”
Nokdu jumps away from Lord Cho.
NOKDU:
“HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?!”
WOMAN:
“Long enough.”
Nokdu covers his face.
Lord Cho calmly looks at the woman.
LORD CHO:
“Go home.”
WOMAN:
“Yes, my lord!”
She runs away.
Nokdu starts laughing.
Lord Cho looks at him.
LORD CHO:
“What?”
NOKDU:
“Nothing.”
He smiles.
NOKDU:
“I'm just happy.”
Lord Cho looks at him quietly.
LORD CHO:
“Why?”
Nokdu steps closer.
NOKDU:
“Because I think…”
He pauses.
NOKDU:
“…I finally know why my heart beats so fast whenever you're near me.”
Lord Cho smiles.
LORD CHO:
“And why is that?”
Nokdu looks into his eyes.
NOKDU:
“Because it likes you.”
Lord Cho is speechless for the first time.
Nokdu laughs softly.
NOKDU:
“Good night, my lord.”
He walks away.
Lord Cho remains beneath the moonlight, smiling.
He quietly touches the flower he kept.
LORD CHO:
“…You have no idea how much I like you too.”
