Jungkook

It was my first day at university.

I stood outside the main gate with my bag on my shoulder. The campus was huge, and there were students everywhere. Everyone looked busy, talking with their friends or rushing to their classes.

I took a deep breath.

“Okay, Jungkook. New place, new start.”

I checked my timetable and started walking toward my classroom.

While looking at my phone, I suddenly bumped into someone.

Bang!

My books fell onto the floor.

“Hey!”

I quickly looked up.

A tall boy was standing in front of me. He had a calm face and a confident smile.

“You should watch where you're going,” he said.

I stared at him.

“Excuse me? You bumped into me!”

He looked at me for a second and smiled.

“Did I?”

“Yes, you did!”

He picked up one of my books and gave it to me.

“Here.”

I took it from his hand.

“Thanks.”

He nodded and walked away.

I watched him leave.

“What's his problem?”

I didn't know his name, but I already knew I didn't like him.

Taehyung

I walked into my classroom and sat near the window.

I wasn't interested in making new friends. I just wanted to finish my classes and go home.

A few minutes later, the professor entered.

“Good morning, everyone.”

Everyone became quiet.

The professor looked around the room.

“We have a new student today. Please introduce yourself.”

A familiar boy stood up.

I recognized him immediately.

It was the boy from the hallway.

“My name is Jeon Jungkook. I'm a transfer student.”

He sat down.

I smiled to myself.

“So his name is Jungkook.”

The professor started the lecture.

After a few minutes, he announced a group project.

“You will work in pairs. Choose your partner.”

Everyone started talking.

I looked around.

Then the professor pointed at me.

“Taehyung, you can work with Jungkook.”

I looked at Jungkook.

He looked at me.

“No,” he said immediately.

I raised an eyebrow.

The professor looked confused.

“Is there a problem?”

Jungkook quickly shook his head.

“No, sir.”

The professor smiled.

“Good. Then it's decided.”

Jungkook sighed.

I laughed quietly.

“Looks like we're partners.”

He looked at me.

“Don't make this difficult.”

“I won't.”

“Good.”

“But I can't promise you won't get annoyed.”

He gave me an angry look.

I smiled.

After class, we went to the library to start our project.

We sat across from each other.

For a few minutes, neither of us spoke.

Finally, Jungkook opened his notebook.

“Let's just finish this quickly.”

“Agreed.”

We started working.

Surprisingly, Jungkook was smart and focused. He explained his ideas clearly, and I began to respect him a little.

When we finished, Jungkook closed his notebook.

“See? We can work together without fighting.”

I smiled.

“Maybe you're not so annoying after all.”

He looked at me.

“Maybe you're not so bad either.”

For the first time, we both smiled.

Neither of us knew it yet, but this small project was going to change everything.

Because sometimes, the person you meet by accident becomes the most important person in your life.
