There has been soo many times that I've been bored and I wanted to read a good Taekook story: sometimes, it'd be with angst, sometimes with fluff, sometimes something else and stuffs.

And I have been out of resources because I have the same old stories on my library shelf. And to browse through stories now just to find a good one... It's a CHORE.

And I'm preeeetty sure, it's a universal problem because on Wattpad, you'll find MAAAANY books that are book recommendations!

Y'know, one thing that always drew me to write in MT was the chatstory option, that's not available on Wattpad but yk, whatever.

So, I'll be giving you Taekook book Recommendations here. Now, before we proceed there are some things I need to clarify:

1. Most of the stories that I've read are Top Taehyung. I understand people might have their own preferences, and I've also read Switch stories as well, but rarely have I touched on Top Kook–although, I still believe Top-Bottom doesn't matter. Taekook wins. So, most of the story recommendations would be Top Tae.

2. I will be accepting recommendations from you, as well. You can tell me in the comment section which story you think I should check out and I will definitely read it–because I'm a good reader. Or so I believe. BUT–I will ONLY include it in the book recommendations, IF I believe it to be good and worth-reading.

[That this was probably Lurisiya's last story. It's like one of those singers who creates a banger, and then disappears. She stopped writing under the pen-name in MT. Although, she did comment to clarify herself through another account–but by far there's no news of any new story from her.]

Synopsis: As the storyline suggests, Prince Taehyung had lost his father and to fulfill his father's dying wish, he had to marry Jungkook. The novel navigates the beautiful relationship between the two–hardships, quarrels, communication–everything.
This book is a mixture of fluff, courtship, royal aesthetic, detailed sêx scenes, emotional intimacy and includes a very possessive Taehyung and very innocent Jungkook. You will discover the simple beauty of this story.
Now–let's talk about the vital, uncomfortable parts:
[NOTE: Refrain from reading further if you haven't read this book already, since there MIGHT BE SPOILERS AHEAD.]

The best part of this story is that it becomes a safe space for the readers as well as for the characters–a comfort novel, to read when they're tired of drama in their personal lives.

There's also a very gradual and realistic development of both characters'relationships. It undergoes uncomfortable conversations, awkwardness, realistic mistakes and much more.

The major ship of our's that is Taekook, is depicted as a perfectly balanced couple. Despite having different viewpoints and arguments over them, they tend to overcome it and place their views without any hesitation. It highlights the importance of open communication in relationships.

At the same time, the story beautiful handles the realistic roles that both characters play, majorly Taehyung. As the prince and later, King–he doesn't only sit and rest in his chamber, all day. He is shown as a responsible figure, upholding his commitments with determination and fair, strong principles. His own dilemma in balancing his marriage and his royal duties is also highlighted in the story: showing how standing by a leader comes with a price.

Taehyung is also shown with flaws–that often pours out in his arguments, majorly with things where his emotions get the better of his rational decisions. And it balances his character as a leader, to just a man, beautifully.

Jungkook's character is also written with a beautiful emphasis on his innocence and pure intentions. While any true leader's decisions might be out in the open for many interpretations, Jungkook's intentions are always highlighted to be pure and considerate for everyone.

His role and understanding of nature, also prioritizes the duties of the partner of a leader– that ends up as no less than being a leader, himself. In other words, to stand by a leader's side, is itself, a leadership.

The hardships they face together are also very beautifully depicted, especially the detailed sêx scenes: there's the beauty and depth of the first sêx, the passionate sêx, the angry sêx, the erotic sêx etc. All the procedures are depicted so beautifully, that for a moment, I believe I learnt from this than I ever did at school.

The author also beautifully parallels other ships in the story and their own dilemmas–and how they connect so well with the main ship.

The beautiful relationship that combines with other relations–and the character development of the way these characters navigate and view their way of processing emotions: is simply beautiful.

And finally–the narration and pacing. The author uses many poetic devices, like elaborating Taehyung's thoughts in a rhythmic sequence, with elaborate, literally terms–that not only brings out his sophisticated nature, but also brings out his true thoughts and emotions before the readers. The devotion, the purity of thought, the loyal nature is also eloquently represented in Jungkook's thoughts. The author also uses conversation in thoughts amidst the two characters.

The pacing of the story beautifully takes the parallel of other ships, while showing the pace of the relationship of the main couple, itself, and finally ending itself with a beautiful epilogue.

On the other hand, there are a few things the story lacks.

One of them, I feel is that jungkook's character had not been enhanced or represented enough.

The author often limits his character to his external and internal beauty, majorly stating his thoughts and intentions to be pure, forgiving and understanding, to enhance his simple nature.

But it also downplays the realistic part in the character. Jungkook, despite becoming the queen consort, doesn't seem to have any responsibilities–which is a pretty simplified setting in which the story is designed.

It isn't necessarily important that to make a character simple and kind, they have to be beautiful on the outside OR have to be forgiving, and not demanding, at all. However, Jungkook in the story, has been shown to mostly spend his time in his room–or the library–with Yeonjun.

Additionally, there's a part in the story, where on the wedding day, Taehyung likes the fact that Jungkook looked at him before shaking Mingyu's hand. The line explicitly states: "...he was already so obedient yet graceful."

From a personal point of view–I believe, that judging someone or admiring them, simply because of their obedience–is a red flag.

It adds up to a view, that jungkook is reduced to a passive character, than an active one–especially when the book is named 'Taekook'.

Another important thing that is more on the technical part, is the depiction of the surrounding setting. The story assumes the reign is very peaceful and there are little to no rebellions–when majorly rulers often have to face rebellions. or protests. And many times, it becomes morally hard to make a decision.

The novel carried little to almost no drama–except a few chapters where you'll see angst, some varying opinions and takes, which makes it very simple and beautiful, but misses on the "dramatic effect" that readers might crave, often times.

Apart from this, the drama is more avid in the side-ships which DOES give you a flavour of "TEA ☕" that you'd crave.
Overall, I'd rate this story 8/10. For it's beautiful story writing, narration, pacing, character development and setting.
If you need to read a story that includes Royalty-Romance, Detailed Smüts, Fluff, Mature and Healthy Relationship–this story is for you.
THAT was MY take on this story. I'm soo sorry if my vocabulary wasn't vocabulary-ing and there are repetitive words. It's because I was excited for the idea of creating this, but I cannot think of better, more suitable words for the moment.

[This is not a Vminkook book–the endgame is Taekook, as explained by the author in the very beginning.]
Synopsis: Taehyung and Jimin are married for years and are a very happy couple. Jimin has had issues of insecurities, due to his childhood trauma but his sweet husband had always made sure to never make him drown in those insecurities. That is...until, Jimin's best friend, Jungkook, returns–and Jimin feels himself spiralling into a pattern of insecurities, doubts and under confidence, that all circle around the same possibility–that his husband might be cheating on him with his best friend.

The major themes this book circles around is one of my personal favourite themes, that is psychological thriller. Along with that, it includes drama, a bit of angst, morally gray characters and most important of all–slow burn (which I'm still waiting for 😭)
Now: before we dive into the review section, let me just specify: I found this beautiful book when I read the author's another story–I don't exactly remember the name, but it was high-school romance, mind reading, and comedy–which attracted me to search more of this author's works and I'm so, so glad I found this gem!
And before you come at me–no, I didn't get paid to write all this. It's simply difficult to find such beautiful books anymore, and so it was refreshing to see this pop up–and now, I'm just awaiting this author to update. By the way, she gives crazy updates. I love her so much.
NOW, let's come to the review section. Before we get started, big warning: THERE MIGHT BE SPOILERS AHEAD! So, read at your own risk.

The first and major reason why I'm so, so, so invested in this book is because of the theme it touches on, which is a psychological thriller. Watching the movies of David Fincher–Gone Girl, Fight Club–it has taken root inside me to be so obsessed with mind games, manipulation, characters with major flaws and fcked up morals.

And the theme doesn't stay as a background framework–it is actively interjected IN the story through the narrator's voice–mainly Jimin. The emotional turmoil of constantly being in his own head, spiraling, being scared of one's own thoughts...the author explains it so realistically, that the reader can feel it through the screen.

Additionally, Park Jimin as the narrator is the second BEST thing of this book. I believe, if Jimin wasn't the narrator, it would've been very difficult to understand his point of view.

With Jimin as the narrator in many episodes, it not only gives us a glimpse into his own life and his bonding with other characters–but also presents a look in the way his mind functions. On top of that, it presents as the perfect third person's narrative that could show us the Taekook relationship.

I also like how Jimin is grounded as a really kind person, overall–as he is in real life–but how psychologically accurate it is to feel and watch oneself turn into a completely different person, in some situations.

Another thing I'd like to add is how the other people around him, the other characters are not shown as someone with a strong moral ground.

For example: I loved the way Jungkook distanced himself from Jimin, despite staying as acquaintances with him. It shows you can distance yourself from some people without cutting them off of your lives, entirely.

Another beautiful thing, in the recent chapters I saw, was how Taehyung brought up the decision of separation, after making sure Jungkook and Yoongi weren't in the room–because even when physically hurt, he was rational enough to make the decision on his own and not make it seem like it was instigated in his head by someone else.

Above all this–the progression of the storyline feels perfect. The pace isn't too slow, yet doesn't look rushed either. The author has taken their time to highlight each character's relation with themselves and others'.

And most importantly, the author has also involved some fluff to make the slow burn in work–although, I personally feel the slow burn is yet to come, and it's keeping the readers hooked.

Now, since the story is still ongoing, and I believe there's a lot more to see, I cannot place my full judgements on the story, but I will still try to present an unbiased, constructive criticism on what I've seen so far.

The description of Jimin's mind is beautifully explained with elaboration and many hints on his mind's way of working but it also might feel repetitive and exhausting for some readers, who want the plot to move forward or reach a conclusion, at most.

Additionally, the way the other characters deal with the behaviours of Jimin is explained as a bit...too pragmatic and rational, which to me, is not realistic to many characters.

For example, take a look at how Taehyung responds to Jimin, after his physical attack at Taehyung, that ended him in the hospital:

The sentences have a rhythm and sounds almost pre-constructed, like Taehyung had practiced this exact speech many times. Additionally, the analytic point of view, of considering the possibility that it might be his own fault somewhere as well might be, again, unrealistic–unless it is actually a part of the plot where Taehyung HAD, indeed, practiced his speech before.

And considering this is a conversation they're having when Taehyung is still ON the hospital bed. Due to a fight that turned physical due to Jimin's irrational reaction.

Instances like such, place an imbalance perspective where the audience begins seeing only the narrator as the one to blame–instead considering the other's lack of judgement.

Additionally, the description of the setting is minimal–not enough to give the audience a clear picture on how the scene is to be, which is fine, because the main target of focus in the character's way of thinking. And since there are limitations by MT on the word limit.

These are my honest takes, FOR NOW. When the book ends, you people might come back here and tell me if I was wrong or present your own opinions on my take.
This was it for today's honest take. I honestly wanted to put it here, despite other stories waiting in the line because I feel it deserves more appreciation and audience, for its storyline and pacing and character development.
