That's a rainy day. The rain drizzled on the leaves of the trees and played a thin melody. According to that melody the wind blew through the holes of the tree formed by the birds and made the sound of the flute. As this was not enough like that, the clouds were dancing lightly to each other as a celebration of not knowing what was going on. The light thunder of their rustling sounded like a drums sound.

Every rain drop was fluttering as the child refused to let go of the leaves of the vines like a baby fluttering down his mother's lap.  Everything together happened in rhythm and created a small natural concert around. The occasional flash of lightning made the people to think nature itself taking the photos of this wonderful scene.

There were small drops of rain scattered all over Mithra’s face. She was trying to open the car door glass further and focus her mind on the beauty of the rain. But, her mind came back to the old memory like a horse without a bridle no matter how hard she tried. Because of her memory, without her conscious, two teardrops crossed her cheeks.

While driving, Jeeva noticed her bad mood. But he was thinking, ‘how to make her to feel relax and forget the past event happened in her life.’  While driving the car he said to her, "Mithra dear.  Your favorite songs sung by Susila is in this CD. Can you put this CD into car's music player? "

Once she heard Jeeva's voice, Mithra hurriedly wiped her eyes and stumbled and asked "Mm?.. Uncle… What did you say?".

By hearing her stumbled look, ‘Poor girl. She suffered a lot in past few months.’  Jeeva sighed inside. He did not say anything about his internal thoughts but, "Nothing Mithra dear. Can you put this CD in the Player? It has your favorite Susila's songs. ”, said Jeeva.

As Jeeva Uncle gazing her, she forced to smile at him. Then her eyes searched in the car to find the port to put the CD. Then she lost patience, “Uncle, Where should I put this CD? I am not able to find the Music player.” she said loudly. After a small pause she said, “If it was our car...” but she could not complete her words. She turned her face to other side and the teardrops started coming down from her eyes.

Jeeva stopped the car immediately and turned around and rubbed her head affectionately. Once after Jeeva touched her head, She felt her uncle comforting her. Thereafter, she could not control her anylonger, Mithra burst into tears and unknowingly she put both her hands on her face. The CD which was in her hand, fell out of her hand. Whether the whole pain had dissipated or not, She somehow managed and calm down after few minutes.

Jeeva waited for her to completely burst out her sadness. Then, he handed over the water bottle to her and said, “First drink the water dear.” He waited patiently until she drank the water, and he bent down to pick up the CD.

Mithra suddenly remembered the CD, and she did not want her uncle to bend down near her feet. Hence, she said, "Uncle wait. I'll take the CD." Then she took the CD and handed over to Jeeva.

He looked at her, ‘In her pained situation also, she remembered to give respect to elders. How determined and good girl.’ Jeeva sighed internally. Then he put the CD in a music player and played the song.

" What is the restriction to the Sparrow. Lovely breeze this is your home…” Music Player began to sing in Susila's voice.

Mithra closed her eyes as she listened to the lyrics of the song in silence and relaxed the car seat a little.

Jeeva looked at Mithra who was exhausted and thought of something in his mind. Then he started the car again as if he was thinking of leaving.

The car was speeding. Because of a peace sweet melodies and lyrics of Songs made Mithra to sleep. The journey of about 4 hours went by without any kind of talk.

As lunchtime came and Jeeva stopped the car near the hotel, where he usually came to dine while traveling to Coimbatore City. Then looked at Mithra and thought, ‘It would be okay to leave after finishing lunch here? But this poor girl...’ He sighed again.

It made him sad by looking at Mithra lay with more lines of anxiety on her face. He did not like to disturb her sleep and decided to get take out food from the Restaurant for her. Then without sound, he tried to open the door silently.

But as the motion of the car stopped, Mithra felt the difference while sleeping and slowly opened her eyes. She turned and saw that uncle Jeeva trying to go out. While rubbing her eyes with semi sleepy eyes, she asked, “Uncle did we reached Coimbatore City so quickly?”.

When he heard Mithra’s voice, Jeeva smiled and open the door for her, “Mm! Mithra. Did you wake already ? Then I no longer have to buy take out for you. We did not reach the Coimbatore City yet.” he exclaimed and said.

Mithra smiled gently, but she did not get down from the car. Then in small voice, "Oh!.. Where are we now? What time is now Uncle?”, She said.

Jeeva smiled at her, “We reached only Salem City dear. Now it is already 2 in the noon. It will at least take 3 more hours to reach Coimbatore City. So it is better to eat before we start travel again. Come out of the car. Lunch in this Restaurant will be so wonderful Mithra...”, he said.

Mithra started thinking how to say, ‘I don't have appetite’ to her uncle.

By seeing Mithra’s frowning face, Jeeva found what she is thinking now. Before she says anything, he

continued with smiling face, “Don’t say you don't have appetite. Then your uncle also will not eat even I feel terribly hungry Mithra.”

Mithra also smiled lightly at Jeeva and said with unwilling expression, “Uncle. Th…that. I… I’m really not hungry.”

Jeeva thought, ‘She didn’t have breakfast. Now also she is refusing to eat. She is skipping meals while I am still with her. If I let her do as per her words, she will spoil her health. Do she think I’m an idiot to let her stay alone?’ Jeeva thought for a while. Then firmly decided, ‘No way!! I have to find a way to let her say yes to my decision.’

Mithra does not want to give up on her decision. Hence, she did not want to let her uncle think too much. She

simply distracts him, “Uncle don’t think too much. I will take another nap in car. You have your lunch and come back.”

But, will Jeeva give up that easily? Still Mithra is not a baby to threaten her and force her to eat. Also,

Jeeva did not really like to continue blackmail her like, ‘I will eat only if you eat.’

In a second, he remembered her family tradition. They never like to eat alone. So Jeeva took a breath and said

in a sad tone, “Mithra at least can you think about me, right? How I will eat alone. It is really boring, and I won't also feel appetite. This old man also feel sad if you ignore me. Please Mithra.”

Once Mithra heard these words, she also blinked twice, ‘Yes right? How will he eat alone? She also never liked

to eat alone. To be frank never ever ate alone until now.’

She felt bad and said, “Oh! Uncle. Why are you pleading like this? If you order me, ‘Mithra come and eat’,

then won’t I come? Let’s go to eat.” She got down from the car.

By seeing that Mithra finally came to eat with him, Jeeva felt relieved. And also got hope that, ‘I can make

her to agree to my decision. But…How to start? What to do?’. Jeeva started thinking while walking with Mithra to Restaurant.

Usually, In Mithra’s home, they used to be silent while eating. Her father Sundhar is Jeeva’s childhood friend.

Sundhar never liked to talk while eating. He used to say, ‘That’s the time when we give respect to the food.’

Jeeva also aware of Sundhar’s habit. And surer that Mithra also would follow Sundhar’s behavior only. Hence,

in Restaurant Mithra and Jeeva ate silently.

After lunch, they started their journey again towards Coimbatore. But Jeeva have not driven through highway. Once

after crossed Erode, he turned the car to narrow village path. That path covered with vegetations trees and fresh air which gave refreshed mind.

After seeing greeneries Mithra looked refreshed. Is the food she ate just before giving energy or the surrounding fresh air gave energy? Who knows? But she slides down the car window glass and started enjoying outside view.

Jeeva felt relieved by seeing Mithra’s behavior. He turned to stop the car near one small stream. After car

stopped also Mithra was watching the greeneries just like children watching the Cartoon without blinking the eyes.

By seeing her like this, Jeeva smiled lightly and called her, “Mithra.”

Mithra heard Jeeva’s calling. But still she did not feel like divert her attention from outside view. So,

without turning she asked, “Yes Uncle. Tell me.”

Jeeva laughed at her and asked, “What is it Mithra? Do you like this place too much?”

Mithra also laughed lightly and turned towards Jeeva, “Yes Uncle. This place is so beautiful. This place…”. Before she completes her words, her words stopped because of Jeeva’s concerning eyes.

Jeeva felt she is aggrieved from her behavior and thought, ‘Why do this girl suddenly thinking the past and making

herself suffer. That’s also she stopped her smile after she saw me now. is it also the reason for she is asking like, she want to stay alone in the place where no one aware of her real identity. Now we just started our journey for the same also. But why her smile vanished in a second? Did I saw her with pity?’. He self blamed for his behavior.

Still Jeeva does not willing to let her go to some other company. Jeeva ignored her sudden stumbling and

continued asking like, “Let’s go Mithra. There is one small stream nearby. We will play for while in it before leaving to Coimbatore.”

Mithra bend down her head, without showing any expression she said, “Okay. Let’s Go Uncle.” By seeing her

face, Jeeva felt sad.

Mithra always liked to play with water. Even though she is 22 years already, she turns into a child who likes to

play into water. But today all her thoughts were around her daddy.

Every Sunday she, her father Sundhar and mother Shanthi used to go to beach. Her Mom always complains to her

dad like, “See Sundhar. She already this big. But do she have any thought that she is grown up. How she is playing in ocean's water.” Even Shanthi complains, she also likes to watch her daughter playing in water like a baby

who doesn’t know any world suffering.

When Mithra thought about those days, without her knowledge two tear drops fallen down from her eyes. She sits

on one stone and put her feet in water as Jeeva instructed . But her thoughts still wandering around her parents.

Jeeva also noticed Mithra’s tears. He could not hold his emotion any longer. He turned to her side and said in

tensed voice, “Mithra,How many days are you planning to think about past? Did not you know there is so many things still there in the life.”

Mithra taken back and stared at Jeeva. Tears still not dried up in on her face she also agitated and  talked back,

“How come I can forget Uncle. Everything happened because of me. I am the cause of all the tragedy. How to forget?” Her voice broken and she started crying.

“Stop it Mithra. Enough.” Jeeva shouted without liberty.

“Stop it Mithra! Enough.” Jeeva shouted without liberty.

Mithra shocked by Jeeva's sudden shout. Jeeva never shouted like that to her before. Hence her cry stopped in midway and she lifted her face and saw her Uncle with little shiver. But Jeeva doesn’t give away his angry expression and he also stared back her.

Mithra gulped her saliva once and spoke, “U…Uncle?”

Jeeva noticed that Mithra stopped her crying at the same time she started fearing. He helplessly sighed and changed his facial expression to calm and said, “I am sorry Mithra. I was upset to see your sad face. That’s why I shouted at you without control to stop your cry.”

Mithra showed shallow smile in her face, “It is okay Uncle. Tell me Uncle. What were you trying to talk. What was it?” She said and turned to slowly moving her feet in stream water to play along with water flow.

Jeeva felt relieved by her words and said, “Nothing big Mithra. I will ask something from you. But you should not refuse. Will you do it right Mithra?”

With smile face Mithra asked, “What is it Uncle? Is it like some secret agent task? Why is it this much build

up? Do I have anyone else to ask me to do anything? You are only one I have now. If I am not listening to your words, whose word should I listen?” said with playful expression.

Jeeva found the hidden meaning of her words and felt aggrieved. But he brought up himself and slowly talked. “Mithra. I really don’t like to send you to someone else’s company. Why can’t you join in our Coimbatore branch's Varma IT Company? “He asked his opinion once again to her.

Mithra said, “Uncle. Do not think that I can not understand what you are thinking”

Jeeva afraid she will find some other reason to refuse. Hence, he immediately said, “Yes. You are right. I

don’t like to let you stay alone in someone else’s ...”

Before Jeeva completes his words, Mithra smiled and blinked at her Uncle, “You are afraid that I will try

something like suicide. Right Uncle?”

Jeeva shocked, she found my thoughts. While Jeeva dashed like that Mithra continued talking.

Mithra, “See Uncle. First of all, I am not coward to try something stupid. I know how to take care of myself. I

just want space by myself. I can’t go to Varma IT Company. I just moved out of Chennai branch Varma IT Company. Now you are asking to go to Coimbatore branch. Because in Coimbatore branch also people know me. And I really do not want to see, others pitying eyes on me. That’s why I decided to move out to some other company for

time being.

I thought of going to Banglore City, where my friend found a job for me.  But you forced me to choose some company in Coimbatore. Hence, I chose to come here. Anyway, you are also gonna come to Coimbatore city every month. Let’s meet every month when you are coming.”  She said confidently.

To be frank she is afraid that, ‘I never stayed alone since my childhood. How I am going to survive.’ But she

didn’t show slight a bit of variance to her uncle.

Jeeva sighed and said, “Don’t talk about going to Banglore and all Mithra. I just allowed you to stay in Coimbatore

because I know this place and few people here. Even it is Coimbatore , still I am not feeling settled to let you alone. Firstly, tell me how do Coimbatore branch people aware of you?

As per your certificates your name is Devi. You joined in Chennai branch also with Devi’s name. Here I help

you to let you join in Coimbatore branch with Mithra’s name without certificate. So, no one will know that Devi is same as person as you.”

Mithra passed her B.Tech degree with first class distinction. She was also obtained the best outstanding

student award in her college.

She is one and only daughter to her parents. Usually her parents used to address her Mithra. As saying goes,

Mithra very quickly makes everyone around as a friend. Hence her mom named her with symbol of friendship as Mithra. Mithra means friend in Tamil language.

But in college and other government certificates her name only Devi. As Jeeva is close friend of Sundhar, he also

gets to know that, Mithra is another name of Devi. As her parents, Sundhar and Shanthi does not want to separate from her daughter they were thinking to make her work in Chennai itself. So, Mithra can stay with her parents in home itself while going for work.

Varma Information Technology (IT) company was established 5 years before by Jeeva’s son Rishi and his cousin

brother Guru.

Guru also brought up by Rishi’s parents only. Since child, Rishi and Guru were together only. They studied in same Ooty Convent school and completed their Under graduate (UG) in Coimbatore big Engineering college.

When they were studying UG itself, they started thinking to establish IT company. Once they arranged their thoughts, they conveyed their opinion to Jeeva. Even though they completed their graduation they were waiting for Jeeva’s answer like a kid whose is waiting for exam result.

Jeeva gave a thought about his sons’ request. Then, “Mm… It is really good decision. See Guru & Rishi. I do not know much about IT company. I just doing some good stuff in Real estate business. With that knowledge I may not be able to give advice to you guys much. But I feel, is it really enough to have your UG alone to start a company? I recommend to complete PG as well before starting company. What do you guys think?” Jeeva asked with

advice and question.

Guru asked with excitement, “Mm… Yes Rishi. I feel the same as like Uncle’s word. Let’s complete our MBA before starting company.”

Even though Guru and Rishi planning to start company together, but Rishi only adamantly brought up the idea of starting their own IT company than working as an employee in someone else’s company.

Rishi & Guru were outstanding students in their school as well as in college. Also, they were good at train and teach other students as well. But these factors are not enough to start new company. Rishi also realized this.
