"Dad! where am I supposed to go? at the age of fifteen there is only so much I can do. on top of that I don't have any money".

"I will send you to live with cousin Mary until you get a job. I will send you with $150. that will get you through the first month".

"but dad! why didn't you kick out Jordan when he disobeyed you"?

"because he is my favorite".

"my name is Adeline Moon. and as you can see I was kicked out. but the truth is.. I was gonna leave anyways. no one cared about me".

it took me 3 hours to get off the property. I never knew how much land we owned. its unbelievable. its so cold. I need a coat. where is it?

so far my life is gone wrong. I was robbed and now I have nothing. and its the middle of winter. and of course it just started snowing. w...why.. does it always happen to me?

2 months later...

Well it took a week to get to My cousin's house. I didn't eat often. I blew through a lot of money. now I only have $100 left. what a nightmare.

"Adeline. I'm going to the store. wanna come too"?

"no I'm gonna rest for a while. im exhausted".

"alright then. don't answer the door for anyone. got it"?

"okay. be back soon. I didn't eat much".

I was way too tired to go anywhere. but then it happened... those guys showed up again. they followed me. and I gave in cause I couldn't even keep my eyes open for long. but what was weird was... this time they were nice to me. I was starting to talk but then I fell to my knees and fainted.

"where am I"?

"these people brought you here. you are at the hospital".

"what?! I'm not staying here".

"Mrs. Moon. you can't go anywhere. you are too weak right now. you were so hungry you passed out. but these gentleman were there to help".

"but those people robbed me".

"Miss, we were trying to carry your luggage. we weren't robbing you. we tried to explain. don't be so quick to assume".

"thank you. but how did you find me? did Mary send you to get me"?

"yes ma'am".

"that makes so much more sense. I apologize for getting the wrong idea. you guys... I will buy you dinner for helping me. I owe you. if you hadn't shown up I would've died".

"no you need to rest. we will visit tomorrow".

"but that last one... he looked familiar... where would I know him"?

*gasp* I know! he is the prince of the Maradawn kingdom. he is the heir. why didn't I recognize this from the start? I must thank him. but why would he help me? he probably has better things to do than to mess with me. he was prolly just trying to be nice. I'm sure that's the case.

I finally was able to go back to school. he deserves to be thanked. too bad we don't go to the same school.

I have started my quest to find him. and when I put my mind on something... I get.. what I want. so I will find this man and thank him properly.

"hello. I need to find the prince. is he here at the palace"?

"I can't tell you ma'am. he doesn't like to have his location stated. so please go away".

"my name is Adeline Moon! and I will see the prince! so is he here or not"?!

he got me into the palace but I'm so confused....

... how did he know me? and why did the prince want me specifically?

"sir, Miss moon is here. she wanted to speak with you".

"thank you mack. I have raised your salary for finding the girl".

"you're welcome sir".

"Miss Moon. what would you like to speak to me about"?

"I never got to properly thank you for saving me. and I would still like to buy you dinner".

"I said there was no need".

"but sir, you saved my life. I have to thank you somehow".

"well... there is one way to thank me".

"okay. you name it. I will help".

at that moment he slowly leaned in to kiss me. but I wasn't ready for that. I was only fifteen. he is three years older. so I sweetly declined.

"whoa. when I said to I'll do something to help, I didn't mean I would kiss you".

"I see. how about you come work for me then. be my maid"?

"your maid? that's what I am too you? some sort of worker? All I wanted to do was buy you dinner".

"well if you want to thank me, its either you work for me or go".

"hmm... what's the pay"?

"1,000 dollars a week".

my eyes suddenly lit up. I was actually excited for the job. but then I thought about something... would I be sleeping there?

"excuse me. but do I have a dress code? or am I sleeping here or at home"?

"the dress code is that you must wear jeans and a tee shirt. nothing special. and you would sleep here in the palace".

"you know what? I'd love to work for you sir".

Wow. its my first day on the job. but this place is spotless, what's there for me to clean?

"Lord Calio, how may I serve you today"?

"hmm... well.. you can make me some dinner".

"yes master".

I can't believe I agreed to this. it was just supposed to be thanking him. but now I work for him. I should've just kissed him from the start. but I didn't.

"Adeline! is my dinner ready yet"?

"almost done sir"!

I can't believe I wanted to thank this guy. he is such a... a... a jerk! ugh... I wish I could've said no. I should've kissed him instead. but I didn't". worst mistake I've **EVER** made.

"here you go. I hope you like fried fish. I have made specially seasoned fish, fried in canola oil. one of the finest brands".

"this better be good".

... he's legit insane. my mom made this for me a ton as a kid. I loved it. fried salmon, drizzled with a little bit of pineapple juice. ahh... I loved those days".

"this is pretty good. you may leave now". thank you sir. I'm glad you enjoyed it".

he slowly leaned in again for another kiss. this time... I just let it happen.

he suddenly shut her up by kissing her again. she was still trying to figure out why he said she was his girlfriend. she hasn't really even gotten to know him.

she finally got him off her back. or so she thought...

She was dreaming...

"Calio. please rub my feet. they are aching from all the cleaning I've been doing. oh wait no. that was you cleaning.

she was having a great dream. but she suddenly woke.

*sigh* "water...".

"thank y- excuse me... but why are you in my room? I said keep things professional. and you agreed".

"well... I lied". he kissed her again. was this some sort of punishment?

"You need to get off of me. leave me alone! please... I'm begging you".

she had such a hurt look on her face.

"I'm sorry. I will leave you now".

"Sir, why do you treat me like this? what did I do to you"?

"you said you wanted to thank me. well... me offering you a job was just a way for me to get closer to you. I wanna know everything... about you.

"I told you. we need to keep things professional"!
