My breath was shaky, vision was blurry and heart racing. I blinked a few times and my vision was finally clear. I looked around the place.

It was dark,

Pitch black.

‘This place is giving me bad vibes’ i thought to myself.

I tried recalling the reason I’m here and even how i got here but nothing came across my mind.

Was i abducted? Well, that could be a possibility in this situation.

I didn’t know what to do. I mean, I’ve never been in this type of situation before but my mind was telling me to find a way to escape since who knows if i stay here any longer, what would happen to me?

I tried getting up but it resulted me to fall back down to the ground making a big thud sound.

Ah shit.

Both my legs and arms are tied.

I looked around was again to find something sharp for me to untie myself with but it was too dark for me to see clearly.

I suppose i have no other choice.

I bent down and positioned my mouth on top of my tied hands and tried untie-ing myself with everything I’ve got.

After a few tries, my arms were finally untied though my mouth did taste a bit weird after.

‘Phew, good thing i still remember how to untie knots using my mouth. Who knew those survival skills i picked up from being a scout is actually useful now.’ I thought to myself.

After undoing the knots on my legs, i was free!

Well,

At least my body was.

I’m still traped in whoever the heck knows where am i.

I had no other choice but to force myself to find an escape route somehow.

I must escape, no matter what !

The sound of a door opening was heard.

Shit.

Is someone there.

And then i heard footsteps.

I quickly hid behind whatever there was in the pitch black.

Bang bang!

The sound of gun shots now.

Shit shit shit.

I chanted repeatedly in my head.

Is this how I’m going to die?

I tried covering my ears to prevent myself from hearing all those gun shots, screaming and fighting.

And then suddenly i felt someone grasp my hand.

I tried yanking myself out of their grasp but it was no use, i was no match with their strength.

I gave up.

Gave up with everything i had.

Maybe this is the end of me.

“Hey stop fighting back. I’m the nice guy in this situation so in other words I’m your savior” the person said. It was a male’s voice.

“If you want to be saved, you gotta do your part to which is following my lead that way both of us can escape safely” he continued saying softly.

Should i trust him? I mean, his words could easily be a lie but...

At this point, does it even matter anymore?

Chances of me surviving and not are a 50/50 chance.

I could survive or i could either die.

Its simple, right?

I thought about the people who would be suffering without my presence. Other than my two best friends, no one else came to mind. At least i can die knowing not many would be in pain.

So, without any other hesitation, i took his hand and he led me through the dark.

His pacing was fast but it was easy for me to catch up since lets face it, the school’s track team training is way more harder than this so for me, keeping up with his pace is easy.

Bang ! Bang !

Even so, the gun shots were a never ending. After a shot there would be another gun shot following by many others. A few people might even be dead now. I’m quite surprised on the fact I’m still alive up until now.

We came to a stop. We were finally i suppose outside the building. It was night time already.

‘Do i have time to go to school tomorrow?’ That was the first thing that came to mind.

I tried catching my breath from running so much.

“We’ll stay here for awhile while we’re waiting for his commands” the guy said.

His?

There are others?

Who is he?

Who even is this guy?

Why did he save me?

My mind was filled with questions.

I gave him a questionable look signaling to ask ‘who is he’

his eyes looked at me softly and he started ruffling my hair.

“Dont worry young lady, you’re safe now. You should really thank us for saving you” he said while giving out a comforting smile.

I suppose he thought i was scared? I sighed. I can ask about the others later.

Afterwards, i analyzed him from top to bottom. Though it was a bit hard since it was dark out here.

He had dark brown messy hair, dark brown eyes and I’m sure he’s very fit from the way he led me just now.

He was also wearing all black, no logo’s or uniforms of anything.

He couldn’t be a police officer. He would’ve been wearing his uniform otherwise and would be questioning me by now.

If not a police officer then maybe an agent? More thoughts came to mind but i just gave up with the guessing.

I’m sure I’ll know sooner or later but for now, i should really calm down.

A few minutes has passed and a guy wearing the same attire came out following behind him was a squad of other people.

Are they the fbi? I thought.

I’m sure he’s the person we were waiting for.

“Is the hostage safe?” The guy in charge asked.

I guess,

The hostage is me?

“Yes, sir” the guy that led me said.

He nodded and made a signal which i suppose to mean that the mission was a success and it’s over now?

Everyone was following his lead.

I was still confused.

Who the heck are these people?

“Um” i blurted out without realising it myself.

Suddenly everyone stopped with what they were doing and put their full attention on me.

Well,

Everyone except that guy in charge. How ignorant i thought.

“Well, i don’t really know how i got here and all and what the situation was like. Since I’m the victim don’t i have the rights to know...?” I slowly said, suddenly feeling a bit nervous with all the attention on me.

The guy that i first met smiled.

“Well if thats the case let me explain it to you. But before that let me introduce ourselves to be a bit more polite”

I nodded.

“I’m Sugio. And that right there is our youngest member but also our major general, Mr. Akabane”

Major general? I’m sure I’ve heard of that position from somewhere.

I thought harder.

And then i remember.

Shit thats one of the higher rankings in the military.

They’re soldiers ?!

Sugio chuckled from my reaction. Probably shocked knowing soldiers saved me let alone a major general also was involved, just who was i involved with?

“The story of how you got here was actually pretty simple. You were wallking alone i suppose to go to school and while you were there, we were also chasing our target and you were there at the right timing so our target took you as a hostage and brought you here luckily, we came just in time to save you of course” he said

“Oh i heard Sugio didnt really even need saving you. He only needed to led you out of the place. So how’d you untie yourself?” Mr. Akabane or should i say the young soldier said.

All the other soldiers were shocked. Probably to hear a little girl like me being able to untie those tight knots without using my hands.

“Y’know, i was once a scout so that came in handy” i said all girly and winked.

“She kinda cute though, how old is she anyways?” I heard one of the soldiers whisper to each other.

“Damn, she’s super smart. She could really be one of us”

I suppose boys will always be boys. But i cant deny i do the same thing.

“By the way, are you really the major general? I mean you look wayyy too young” i asked the young soldier with my hands on my hips and gave him a questioning look.

He sighed.

“Kid, how old are you?” He looked at me in the eyes.

“16 and a half?” I replied.

“Well, kid I’m 20 and that is young eh? But I’ve achieved much more than you have at the age of 16” he said with so much pride.

I rolled my eyes.

Hmph, what a cocky person. He’s just showing off right now.

“Listen here kid,”

“I’ve got a name y’know” i said while raising my voice.

He lifted up his right eyebrow, kind of like mocking me.

“My name’s Kaede”

“Well okay then, miss Kaede. You’re right. I am too young to be a major general but listen here, in time i will be the youngest major general”

Hmph, what a bitchy personality.

“I’m the person everyone needs. The person everyone depends on. And you’re one of them.”

“Well fine then ! Then I’d be the youngest female soldier.Just you wait...” i shouted, loud enough for everyone to hear.

“I’d be the one everyone depends on too ! Everyone will look up to me just you fucking wait and let me prove it to everyone” i shouted again, anger could be heard in my voice.

He really thinks i can’t do anything but be another hopeless person he saved?

“You can’t just be anything you want, young lady. This is the real world maybe you should try being something more useful like being a housewife” i heard one of the soldiers saying.

Everyone,

Laughed.

Laughed at how i told them the impossible.

Mr. Akabane snickered.

“Well then, i hope you can successfully prove it to me. Maybe in a few years time or... who knows you might not even hit your goal in 10 years in time”

Everyone continued laughing.

Even so, i tried looking up high, with pride.

“Fine. Just you wait in a few years time... senpai” i smirked.

He rolled his eyes in response.

Hmph, typical

“Mr. Ayane please send her back to home. I’m sure her parents are worried so explain the situation with an apology” he ordered before heading out.
