It’s the best day of my life today…I’ve never been this happy before!

I’ve loved him for 3 years now… or was it just infatuation? I don’t know! But my wait was finally over when he offered the information willingly that he liked me too…

I’m on cloud nineeeee…. I want to scream, I want to dance, I want to singggg! I want to flyyyyy! Above all, I want to be in his arms right now and kiss the life out of him.

"Yeyyyy!" I squealed in excitement.

I don't remember the last time I had been this excited for anything in my life. This has to be it! This has to be my happily ever after. My fairytale, me being the princess and him being my prince charming...No! My handsome Prince Charming! God, I am definitely falling for him.

“And I’d walk a million miles just to see you smile til’ the day I die…” I sang non-stop, because I was actually high on life!

“What’s up with you, Cyra?” my mother shouted from downstairs.

“Sorry, mom!” I shouted back, rather guiltily but I’m happyyy!

I gotta tell someone about this, but who should I? He insisted on anonymity, but why? It’s not like we are committing some crime by dating. Whatever! I don't care anymore. I'm just happy by the fact that he's finally mine. Just mine!

I don't need to be insecure anymore. I hope not! Those bitches are gonna be so so so jealous when they find out that's he's exclusively mine.

My thoughts were interrupted by the phone ringing…

I checked the id…it was Aaisha, my best friend! We’ve been friends for 3 years now. Yeah, the same 3 years! Long story short, she liked him too at that time and our similar thoughts were the reason we are now together. But she’s gotten over her crush long ago, ‘leaving him exclusively for me’, her words not mine and we’ve been sisters since then. Rest is history!

“Hellooooooo,” I sang after receiving the call.

“I’ve some bad news!” she replied, sounding worried. She's never been the one to worry or panic. The panic in her voice was all it took to bring me back on my feet. Something's got to be wrong, like terribly wrong!!!

“What happened?” all my senses were now on alert.

Her next words brought my world crashing down at my feet…

My life has been on a roller coaster ride ever since he stepped in.

Kayden Stire Den, the heart-throb of the entire school was my only knight except for the fact that his shining armor was more of a vague plastic then metal.

Aaisha’s phone call brought my life crashing down altogether.

Flashback…

“Cici,” her tone was an alarmed one, “where were you, yesterday?”

“Why? What happened?” I asked slowly.

“Just answer my question first,” now she sounded angry.

“I was out at the new club on street 55, but why?”

“And who were you with?”

Sweat started dripping off my forehead. What should I do? Should I tell her that I was with Kayden? She’ll flip out! Oh no!! What should I do? I can’t lie, she’ll figure out.

“Cyra, I know where were you yesterday, with whom you were and what happened between you two. I just want to hear it from you. There’s no need to think of a lie,” her voice sounded so clipped.

“IwaswithKaydenonadate,” I said in a monologue.

“Whattt?”

I took a deep breath to calm myself.

“I was with Kayden on a date,” this time, I said slowly.

“And…” she trailed.

“And, what?”

“What happened on that date?” still, no enthusiasm. She was now sounding distant.

“Okay, just tell me what the matter is. There’s no need to be so annoyed,” I snapped.

“I am not annoyed Cyra, I am furious,” she started shouting, “The **** do you know that there’s a video going viral of you two making out.”

The phone slipped off my hand and crashed with a loud bang. I’m sure that it didn’t survive the impact.

There’s no way possible that someone would have seen us. We were in a secluded spot dammit.

Tears started seeking their way out. What will I do? What will I tell Kayden? He will surely break off with me after seeing this. No, no, he can’t do this. He won’t do this. But, who the hell did record that video? I’m so sure that no one was around. I have to find out, but before that I need to convince him that this wasn’t me. Will he believe me? There’s only one way to find out…

Without thinking much, I wiped my tears with the back of my hand, grabbed my car keys and headed downstairs.

“Mom, I’m going out,” I shouted while climbing down the stairs.

“Where are you going at this hour?” she came running from the kitchen.

“Aaisha and I have a project to work on,” was the quickest lie that formed in my head.

Without giving her a chance to respond, I ran out.

My life was taking a drastic turn in just a matter of a few hours. Yesterday morning, when we officially started dating, I was on cloud nine. We decided that this calls on for a celebration, actually I decided. We met at Harry’s around 8.

I was excited to meet him officially as my boyfriend. Last thing I remember was kissing him which felt damn good, cause I was too drunk to realize anything else.

After 15 minutes of self-loathing and cursing every negative thought in my mind, I reached at his place only to find out…

I rushed out on my car, once parked. His house was a typical two storey bungalow, with a porch that had two stairs which led to the front door. I ran towards the front door, trying to keep my trembling self steady enough. He always kept spare keys of his house beneath the herbal plant which was potted just outside the door. I lifted the pot enough to pick the keys and started rummaging through them to find the correct one through.
