What's She Hiding?
I'm sorry
A city car pulls up at the house next-door
Jazzmine, the daughter of the family, couldn't help but watch.
Holly
Jazzy, time to come in for dinner!
Jazzmine stays, observing, as the new family start to order their stuff.
Holly
JAZZY! c'mon, it's rude to stare, now come inside.
She makes her way inside, occasionally glancing back to the newcomers.
Holly
Jazzy? would you like to say today's prayer?
Jazzmine
No thank you, maybe tomorrow..
Holly
Dont forget common manners, young lady!
Jazzmine was only 13, she HATED being called that.
Jazzmine
Fine, whatever, I'll say the prayer!
she was clearly becoming aggravated.
Her mother eyes her with a strict look.
Holly
Dont you talk like that here!
She raises her voice, and points towards the small wooden ladder.
Holly
GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW!
Jazzmine closes her eyes, and small tears gather, she runs away and up the ladder, sobbing.
Finally in the safety of her own room, she looks to her dolly, holding her tight.
Jazzmine
oh Ezill... what'll I do now..?!
With her faded yellow Handkerchief, she gently wipes her tears away.
Jazzmine
I'm just too curious.. we haven't had any Neighbors since.....
