A handsome young man sat down on one of the most comfortable chairs in the Seashore Hotel's VIP lounge. His dark yet soft pink lipstick complimented his slightly darker skin, and a smirk spread on his face. He brought his coffee up to his lips, taking a long sip, then going back to reading the book he was lost in.
"Excuse me, sir?" Someone called out as a knock was heard from the door. "May I come in?" The female voice asked and the young man closed the book, while also setting his teacup down. "You may, Miss Goldberg!" He said with a happy tone and the door soon opened. A woman with short brown hair and a suit walked in, straightening her glasses and holding her suitcase.
"Is something troubling you, Miss?" The young man asked and the woman let out a small 'tch'. "I told you to call me Liza, but on another note we could say it doesn't trouble me. A reply came from Kettuso's High School." Liza opened her suitcase, and the young man's eyes lit up quickly. She handed a letter to him, and he immediately opened it quickly yet neatly. He straightened his silver hair before starting to read.
"Hello, Gared Joenyl.
We are humbled to hear you would like to paticipate in our High School. A small unknown place like this could really use geniuses like you. However if you want to participate you'll have to choose at least one club activity, as those are our school's strong suit and pride. You have quite a few options with already 'famous' and filled clubs.
The art club could use your realism, and skills to wield the brush. The coding club could use a talented coder like yourself. The volleyball club has been doing well, and I'm sure they'd be glad to have you. Of course, those are just a few of the choices. I recommend you do stay away from clubs like the math club and dance club, they have been failing for the past 6 years and barely have members left. However the choice is yours to make.
School starts at August 8th.
I'll be waiting for your response before the 4th.
Personally from your humble principal, Katie Blossom."
Gared's eyes sparked even brighter as he saw the words 'Dance Club'. He had been a sucker for all types, especially freestyle and pole dance, since he was a little kid. He folded the paper and snapped his fingers. "Liza, paper and pen, now." He sternly demanded and Liza nodded. She took an ink pen and paper from her suitcase and placed them in front of Gared. He flashed a smile as a thank you and started writing a letter back.
[2:26AM, 24th of July]
Harken was cleaning some glasses as laughter and voices filled his ears. He glanced back at his bar and chuckled. He had always had been a talented barista and bartender, and had started at a very young age with his father.
"Heyyy Hark, my man! Could cha get me and my buddy here a FEEEEEW more shots of that special vodka o' yoursssss..?" A man chuckled as a woman was downing her last vodka shot. "Heck yeah, these are good!" She almost shouted and Harken giggled. "I think you should take a break, you look really drunk JJ." He took the empty shot glasses and washed them. "But maaaaaan they're so goooood, like better than any cigar like ever!" JJ held himself up, but eventually passed out on the table.
"Heh, classic JJ." Harken dried the shot glasses and set them aside. He opened his shirt a bit as it was getting hot and cleared his throat. He walked over to the bar's karaoke machine and tapped the mic.
"OKAY EVERYONE!" He smiled and gained the attention of all the people in the bar. "Same deal as always, who's up to drive JJ home? Of course there's going to be a free bottle of wine as a reward, or perhaps a night with me if that's what you prefer..~" He winked as his golden hair shone and his well-built muscular body showed through the fabric of his shirt and pants. Men and women in the club were either thirsty for the wine or the man himself, so everyone started arguing and fast.
In the end an older man and his wife offered to drive JJ home for free, and Harken just couldn't refuse. "Thank you, kind couple! Next visit I'll treat you to some of my famous chocolate cake and white wine as a proper thank you!" He waved and the couple kindly waved back as they were carrying JJ out. Everyone knew where the man lived, he was the popular guy in the bar after all.
Harken walked back to his spot and looked at the female. "As humble and devilish as ever, lil bro!" She slightly hit his side and laughed. Harken let out a chuckle and shook his head. "It's funny he thinks we don't know each other. Anyways, you want another shot? On the house for family!" He smiled widely and his big sister nodded. "But hey, before that would you care to look at this letter from Kettuso's High School?" She smirked as she held the letter and Harken almost dropped the shot glass. He set it down and snatched the letter. "Whoa- I get you're excited, but calm down!" She chuckled, but Harken had already started reading.
"Hello, Harken Starstorm.
Your wish to enter our High School has been granted, but with one condition. You must choose a club activity from a few options below.
Math club
Art club
Volleyball club
Cooking club
Dance club
Coding club
Writing club
Please inform us of your choice before the 4th of August. School starts at 8th.
Kindly, your principal, Katie Blossom."
Harken's face sparked with emotion as he loudly laughed. A few heads turned and he shouted, "I'M GOING TO MAKE IT TO KETTUSO!!" People around were either congratulating him or passed out on the ground/tables. Harken immediately got a paper and grabbed his pen from his pocket.
"Oh, I forgot to say, thanks Neerai! Thanks so much for bringing this to me!" He smiled to his bigger sister who nodded. "Anytime, Hark! But give me the vodka shot after?" She smirked and her little brother nodded.
[7th of August, Hotel lobby]
Harken had his bags as he was waiting for his sister to bring the rest. He was going to stay at a real five star hotel for the entire first year! His family had promised him it was no biggie, and told him he deserved it. He was holding his key to room 404 and waiting for Neerai, but suddenly he heard people talking about Kettuso's High School.
"Have you heard? They accepted two 18 year olds as first years! We really have sunk low, haven't we?" A boy, about 16 years old, crossed his arms. "Well I heard one of them is that really talented son of Seashore's CEO. He's that game creator and he's REALLY hot!" A girl, assumed to be 17, spun around with a smile. "Yeah, I can't wait to meet him! Who cares about the other one, I want to be famous!" Another girl giggled and as Harken heard that his smile dropped. He lowered his head and sighed.
However soon Harken heard a slapping noice and he raised his head. "OI, don't talk about my lil bro like that, you bitch!" Neerai growled at the 17 year old girl who let out a dramatic gasp. "You slapped ME?!? How DARE you?!?" She was about to slap back when Harken stepped in and took the slap instead. Now there was a huge red mark on his soft face. The girl jumped and looked at her friends.
"Hey..." Harken said with a low voice. The girl turned to look at him again nervously. "... I'm sorry about that! Big sis can get a bit violent!" He smiled sweetly as the mark started to fade. The girl was speechless and a blush rose to her cheeks. "I-I- No! I'm sorry for slapping you!" She bowed down and Harken shook his head. "It's nothing, really! Come on, Neerai, let's go put the stuff in my room." He started walking to the elevator and Neerai nodded. She glared at the girl one last time and then hurried in the elevator.
"... So you were saying?" The boy smirked and the girl growled. "Shut up idiot, he was just nice!"
[5 hours later]
It was becoming night-time and Neerai had to go. "Remember lil bro, don't be a pushover! I ain't gonna forgive you if you come home after the year depressed!" She hit her brother's side and he chuckled. "Yeah yeah. Take care, Neerai!" They said their final goodbye's and then Harken was all alone.
Little did he know the son of the CEO himself was in the room next to his. He didn't go to one of the VIP rooms because it would take too long to get down from the highest level.
Gared set his laptop on the table and he went to check the schedule for tomorrow. 7-hour day + 2 hours of club activities. He smiled and went to check the list of new students. Oddly enough there was only one besides him.
"Hmmm... Harken Starstorm, huh? Seems like a boring guy." He stretched and yawned. Then he went back to his original bussiness, doing digital art and animations for his next game.
