my name is Leo and I'm homeless.
I was found by the scouts outside of Chen colony and have been living in Chen orphanage ever since.
during these times children below age sixteen were cherished because they had more chance of Awakening, only the first Awakened became Awakened after sixteen, ever since then, everyone Awakened before the age of sixteen.
if someone still hasn't awaken before sixteen, they would be kicked out from the orphanage and eventually be used as Shields whenever a big zombie horde arrives, crule right?.
well, hope that explains why I'm homeless and currently sleeping beside a dumpster, while using a sack of trash as a pillow. besides, why is it so hard?
Leo checked the sack to see what made it so hard, and he found a book.

A book? guess I won't be bored when the sun rises.
well I should probably get some shut eyes.......
Leo had a quiet nature and he loved to read. he was also a fast learner, so he was actually intrigued to see what the book he found contained.
it was the next morning and Leo didn't have anything to do, he ate the last day so he could stay another day without eating, Leo has been living in the streets for some weeks now, so he was already used to skipping food for a day, he quickly picked up the book he found and began reading it.

after looking through the dumpster, Leo was lucky enough to find a worn out dagger, he picked it up and cleaned it using a rag.

Leo was currently in the dispatch site, his main aim was the yang wilderness. the yang wilderness was a place were newbies went to hunt.
the yang wilderness contained F1, F2, F3 and occasionally a few F4 zombies.
this was the best place for Leo to hunt considering his tier.
he was currently waiting in a que. before entering any Wilderness, one had to submit their names and after submitting their names, they would be given a number, the reason was so they could trace any missing person.
Leo who was standing in the que got weird stares from Everyone, he was wearing rag and he didn't have a good weapon, only a rusty worn out dagger, most wore G3 battle armour and held energy blasters on their waist, while a few rich kids wore G5 battle armour, and even had some stun grenades in their bags.
after an awfully long wait, it was finally Leo's turn to submit his name and get a number
after writing down his name, mark gave him his number, mark didn't pay any attention to him because he knew he wasn't going to last in the wilderness with his current set up.

hmm, number sixty nine, well time to go!!
Leo stepped into Portal which led to the yang wilderness, during these years, humans also evolved technologically, and this was also made possible due to the apocalypse.
due to portals, colonies were actually separated from the wilderness, and a zombie horde was only possible when a zombie is strong enough to break this Portal, so in other words, a zombie horde is only possible with the help of a high tier zombie.

Wilderness???, this is a f**king forest!!!
Lucas exclaimed as he came face to face with a forest, when he heard a wilderness, he had pictured a deserted wasteland.
he looked around and began wondering where the people who went in before him were.
the portal actually transferred them to different locations, and when it was sun set, the portal would appear right before them in their individual location.
still in his chain of thought, he was suddenly distracted by the sound of a growl.
the zombie hadn't spotted Leo yet and due to its low sense of it's surroundings, Leo had anticipated that it was at F1 tier, an easy target.
Leo knelt behind a tree and just when the zombie was close enough, he launched at the zombie with full force.
in an instant, the dagger he was holding came into contact with the zombies skull, there by ending the zombies life immediately.

nice!!!, a clean hit, now time for the best part...
Leo teared open the zombies chest, and a shining red stone laid in it's chest, exactly the place were a human heart was supposed to be.
this stone took the shape of a small diamond, but it was even more valuable than a diamond, it was a zombies core.
zombie core held more value than diamonds because it was what was used in making new technology that has helped humans survived for years.
although this was only an F1 zombie core, it could still be sold for one thousand gold, F1 zombies were the lowest tiers of zombies and their cores could only be used to make limited things, and for most people, killing F1 zombies during hunts meant bad luck, but for Lucas, one thousand gold could get him a room for a night at a motel, and good food to eat.

I don't have a bag, so I have very limited space, but at least I would be able to eat and sleep well tonight.
Leo thought, then he began looking for more preys.

After some hours of hunting, it was almost sun set.

well today was a progressive day, I was able to hunt down ten F1 zombies and one F2 zombie.

I've never had so much money on me, a single F2 zombie's core would cost up to two thousand gold, that means I have also enough for some cheap equipment, I can feel it, this dagger is about to give up.
after some deliberation, Leo decided to dig a hole and give the dagger a proper send off.

"sir, what would you like to exchange?"

"I have ten F1 zombie core and one F2 zombie core, how much would that be??"

"that would be twelve thousand gold mister!"

"would you like the money now?"
Leo
"yes, here are the cores"

after waiting for some minutes, Luke finally came back to Leo with a bag of gold in his hands.

Leo took the bag of gold Luke offered him and before leaving, he replied
while staring a glance at the manager only to see her glaring at him, like it pained her Luke was giving money to someone like him. but she couldn't stop Luke, because she wasn't the owner of the store.
after leaving the store, he looked for a motel to stay for the night, he easily found one because he had been staying in Chen colony for sixteen years, so he knew a lot of places.
skipping dinner, he immediately went to sleep.
the next morning came fast, and Leo's goal today was to get equipments and a suitable cloth to wear.
he went to a store were clothes were sold and he bought a hoodie, joggers and sneakers, he also bought a bag in order to solve his space problem.

I've got ten thousand gold left, and I need weapons. good thing I know of an equipment store around.
after walking for some distance, Leo reached the equipment store he knew off and he was immediately greeted by the manager.
Jason
"hi, I'm Jason, the manager of this store, what would you like to purchase?"
Leo
"I need a G1 handgun, do you have those?"
Jason
"you mean this one?"
Jason said as he quickly brought out a G1 handgun behind his counter.
Leo
"yes, how much is it?"
Jason
"it's strong enough to one shot a zombie at F3 tire and it goes for the price of six thousand gold"
Leo
it was probably made from the core of a zombie at F4 tier if it has enough power to penetrate a zombie at F3 tier, I like it!.
Leo
"ok, I'll buy it, and do you have a dagger?"
Jason
"also strong enough to penetrate the skull of a zombie at F3 tire, and it's just three thousand gold"
Leo
the worn out dagger I used before is probably stronger than this one since it was strong enough to kill a zombie at F2 tire even at it's state, but well, I have no choice.
after wrapping the weapons, Jason handed them to Leo with a huge smile on his face, the he said

"thank you for your purchase and make sure to come again!"
