Maya was walking down the street. On her left, there was a normal neighborhood. On her right, however, there was a weird forest that she had never seen before. The trees grew so closely together that she couldn’t see the rest of the forest. She heard some creepy scuttling and suddenly noticed a strangely designed tree in the center of the forest. It was like everything was opposite. The trunk was thick but the leaves were as thin as paper. Somehow, the trunk was neon green like a bamboo plant and the leaves were as brown as mud. And there was a weird black-white knob in the center, almost like a button, Maya thought. Nobody else seemed to notice the forest so Maya went to explore. As she got closer, she realized that the black and white knob on the tree looked like a ying-yang. Curious, she tried to touch the knob. Suddenly, there was a big whooshing noise, the tree split open and the last thing Maya heard was a loud scream. She woke up in a cozy little room. There were two beanbags, a tv, a pingpong table, a video game console, and tons of candy! She said, “I’ll stay here for a little while and then move on.” Suddenly, there was another woosh and there, standing just next to Maya was her best friend Max! Maya was surprised to see her here, but they had been wanting to hang out some time so they grabbed some popcorn, sat down on the beanbags and watched a movie. Once the movie was finished, they decided it was getting late, and found the knob to get out. But once they picked themselves up and dusted themselves off, they realized that they were in a completely different place...
