The wounded man
Somewhere at the Mysterious Forest
Cris
Hey, Kyra! Did you miss me?
Hears noises and begin to look around
Cris
*Whispering* Did you hear that?
Kyra
*low growl and looks around as well*
Suddenly, there is a scream and Kyra and Cris begin to run towards the direction.
They come to a clearing in the forest and see a man lying on the floor
Another man stood over him
Cris
Hey! What do you think you are doing?
The man looks up and sees Cris with Kyra. He runs away on being spotted and Kyra runs after him.
Cris
Make sure you get him!
Cris walks over to the man lying on the floor and sees that he is hurt, badly.
His eyes goes wide, when he realises who he is.
Cris
You are from the upper clan.
Cris
Ugh! What are you doing here?
Cris thinks of leaving the man alone on the ground but decides against it
Cris
Ugh! Your people hates us yet I feel like I should help you.
Cris
You didn't get him, right?
Cris
That's okay. Let's just help this one out.
Cris carries the man on his shoulder and begins to walk back into the forest
They get to a small house in the forest and enter
Cris lays the man down on the mat sprawled out on the floor and covers him from waist down with some of the blankets which had been arranged at the side of the room.
Cris
Watch over him while I go out to get some herbs.
Cris leaves and gets the herbs he wanted.
He comes back and moves and starts the small fire outside with the wood he got
After he is done, he pours them into a small bowl and enters the house
He touches the forehead of the man and realised he has a fever
Cris
Well, my man. You will have to open your mouth for me.
He raised the man's head and supports it with his body, while he feeds him the contents in the bowl.
Cris
I can't believe I am helping a member of the upper clan. I really hope this does not come back to haunt me
He lays the man back down on the mat and begins to clean his wounds.
Cris
The herbs will help you sleep so that you don't feel too much pain when I touch your wounds
He bandages the man's wounds as Kyra sits down and watches him intently.
After he is done, he turns off the fire he made with water and goes inside the house.
Cris
Let's stay with him when he feels a lot better, then we leave.
person 1: Where the hell is he?
Person 2: I have been trying to call his phone but it seems it is unreachable.
Person 1: Try his number again. I will go and check around.
Person 2: Tries the number again. Gets the same response.

He turned and walked away while tara walked inside the house

Where were you throughout last night? I kept calling you. Did you even see my missed calls?
Cris
I just got back from the woods with Kyra. I have not really looked through my phone
Tara
You were in the woods with Kyra? Do you know how dangerous it is to be alone in the forest?
Cris
🙄 Yes I know. Can you please sit down? I'm making breakfast

We had a meeting with the elders concerning the impending situation with the upper clan and you decided to be in the woods with Kyra. I see

Don't make it look like I did something wrong. I mean, I wanted to get away from all the stress and ended up getting more stressed.

I ran into a wounded man. He was attacked by an assassin and when I and Kyra got to him, he was unconscious. So, I had to send him into our cabin. You remember the one we built as kids?
Tara

But that's not the worse of it

The warehouses of one of the prominent upper clan members got burned down. And they are blaming us

Yes. That is why a meeting was called last night. The upper clan might want to wage a war between us

I can't believe they would even dare to accuse us of such a thing. We never go up to their gated city
