jeez, I was just trying to be nice..
Mae
why don't you ever want to talk to me?
Logan
because you are annoying
*Loud voice comes over the intercom*
Attention students! Please remain calm! We are now going to be performing a practice lockdown. This is just a drill, but treat it as if it were the real thing.
Logan
ugh this is so stupid! we are never gonna have an actual lockdown anyways.
1st period teacher
Ok students. Please listen up. I need you all to huddle in the corner furthest from the door and stay quiet.
all students go to the furthest corner and huddle together.
Logan
why are you standing so close to me?
Logan
ugh you are so annoying
suddenly sounds of gunshots come from the hallway
Beatrice
guys, I thought this was just a drill?
Logan
jeez its probably just sound effects to make it feel like the real thing.
1st period teacher
Ok everyone! just stay calm im sure everything is just fine!
suddenly there is pounding on the door
Mae
hey we locked the door right?
everyone cautiously watches as the door knob slowly turns.
Mae
I'm gonna take that as a no..
the door suddenly flys open
the room goes quiet as the students wait for someone to walk through the doorway
Chapter 2
the students watch as a woman slowly walks through the doorway.
the woman slowly turns her head to face the students
an eerie feeling sweeps over the room as the woman slowly approaches the students
Logan
so should we run or??
Mae
what? are you crazy? she is blocking the exit, where are we supposed to run
Logan
nobody was talking to you!
Beatrice
guys calm down! let's just think logically here.
Beatrice
if she keeps coming this way we should all be able to run out of the room if we hug the wall.
Beatrice
but we all have to go at once or she will catch on.
Mae
um there's like 20 of us. She's gonna catch on and only a few of us are going to make it out with that plan.
Logan
guys why don't the 2 of us just go, we can both make it out if we go quickly.
Beatrice
um there's three of us in this conversation?
Logan
I was talking about you and me, leave Mae here. she sucks
Beatrice
ok guys stop fighting. we don't have time. do the three of us make a run for it or no?
Beatrice
ok on the count of three.
Beatrice, Mae, and Logan quickly get up and make a run for it.
the woman jolts her head to watch the students running out of the room.
she stops in her tracks for a moment, as if deciding whether or not to chase them.
the woman then returns her focus to the group of students in the classroom.
