Fate Is An Illusion
Episode 1
In the big palace-like mansion of the Sarcos, a room filled with emptiness was owned by the unknown daughter of the duke, Aalliyah Del Rei Sarcos.
Despite being the daughter of a duke, being an illegitimate child, she was so close to being just a normal person— no, she was close to being a trash.
All of her life, she wasn’t treated as noble girl nor was she given care as a child.
She was nothing but a mere trash her brothers always toss around.
The girl named Hezel questioned to Aalliyah who looked empty as usual.
Hezel is the daughter of the head maid who always took care of her since she was brought into the mansion.
Hezel
Did your brothers say something foul again?
Aalliyah
You can get killed if someone heard you talk like that.
Aalliyah
Just let them be.
Aalliyah gazed upon the window tiredly.
Aalliyah
I’ve heard enough from them already.
Hezel
Then say it to their faces.
Hezel
I know you can do anything, Ally.
Hezel
Stop locking yourself in this hell already.
Aalliyah
This hell is my home though.
Hezel
It doesn’t mean you have to stay home forever.
Aalliyah smiled as she turned to Hezel.
Aalliyah
My father said once my brother took over the dukedom which will happen in two days, he’ll let me leave for good.
Hezel frowned suspiciously.
Hezel
Did you really believe that?
Hezel
It’s obviously a lie.
Hezel
He’ll get rid of you after your brother took over the dukedom.
Hezel
You know that even before he said it Aalliyah.
Aalliyah
I made a deal with him.
Aalliyah
I said if he let me leave the palace i’ll live as a commoner without any title at all.
Hezel
How frustrating you are.
Hezel
Have you no pride at all?
Aalliyah
I’ve lost it long before, Hezel.
Aalliyah
I just want to live freely.
Hezel
I can’t believe you.
Aalliyah
I’m sorry for being such a loser, Hezel.
Aalliyah
This life I have now, i’m afraid I can’t continue fighting for it any longer.
Aalliyah
‘Maybe in my next life I will.’
Hezel
You really are a handful.
Hezel
If you won’t fight back then I will.
Aalliyah turned to Hezel in panic.
Hezel
I’m sick and tired of your family, my lady.
Hezel
I can’t tolerate them any longer.
Hezel
Seeing you submit to them like a selfless doll really hurt my pride as your maid.
Hezel
I swore since the day I met you that I’ll always be the best maid you would have.
Hezel
Even if you won’t fight for yourself, I hoped you’ll fight for those who support you.
Hezel
I don’t want to be harsh to you but, seeing as you are now, you’re really not worth to be the lady we support.
Hearing the person who supported her through everything and cared for her more than her family, Aalliyah’s chest throbbed in pain.
Everyone in the house that serves the duke took care of her and supported her to fight back. Yet she said that she won’t fight back any longer in front of the one who supported her the most.
She couldn’t help but look down in shame.
Aalliyah
I’m sorry for being an incompetent lady.
Aalliyah
How selfish of me..
As she apologized, uncontrollable tears started flowing.
She sobbed like she was tired of the world she lives in and mumbled the word ‘sorry’ as if she did something horrible.
But in fact, she really hasn’t done anything wrong.
She was just born as an unwanted child.
She didn’t want that, so why are they treating her like just being born was her fault?
Hezel
See how pitiable you are?
Hezel
You’re giving up on yourself already even though you still have people to pay for their kindness.
Hezel
Be responsible, Lia.
Hezel
I’ll leave you be for now.
Aalliyah
‘She’s completely right..’
Aalliyah
‘I’ve been playing along with the schemes of my father and brother.’
Aalliyah
‘I also have the duke’s blood.’
Aalliyah
‘I’m still their family no matter what they do.’
Aalliyah
What am I doing getting trampled like this.
Aalliyah frowned in frustration.
The anger she’s been hiding all this time was lit like a ticking bomb that could explode anytime.
She’s been keeping everything herself, letting them say what they want, order her like some servant.
All of her hatred was hidden in those deep empty eyes her father and brother hated about her.
It was time to let out some steam from her boiling hatred.
Aalliyah
I’m sorry, mother.
Aalliyah
The patience you wanted me to give to my father and step brother has finally ended.
Aalliyah blurted like she was talking to her mother.
She let out a heavy sigh and went to her desk, weaving a pen in a piece of paper.
“Grandfather, i’m fighting back.”
Those words were the start of her fight.
Her grandfather on her father’s side who always wanted Aalliyah to fight back to those who wronged her.
She has his full support.
Aalliyah
There’s never going back.
Aalliyah
‘Three days from now is the ceremony for my brother to take over the throne to the dukedom’
Aalliyah
I won’t ever let that happen.
